Thanks

Hard to believe my baby is growing up on me - way too fast in my opinion but I will get over it - it will be hard when she leaves the nest - we have been just the 2 of us for almost 15 years now

In talking with band and swim parents there aren't too many seniors (boy/girls) that know what they want to do

She does want to swim for a college team - her 'dream' is forencis at Ohio State Univesity and swim for them

I remember senior year. I remember going through the help wanted section of the Sunday paper.. checking out which jobs were advertised for the most.. Accountants, and declared. I am going to go to school to become an accountant, when asked why, I simply responded.. look at all the job adds for them in paper!!! I will NEVER have a problem getting a job... Accountants will ALWAYS be needed.

Sure enough, I have never had a problem finding employment.

Good luck w/Kara's soul searching!!

Brenda, thank you, I am going to go to the Travel Channel and see when they are airing that show again. I have thought about sending away for the dvd, LOL.. soooo bad. Sometimes, I just need my fix!

Hello Folks!!!

WELCOME Jeff, Ally and Family!!! I sent you a PM regarding our website and if you want to be included, etc. just send me the information.

Congrats Caz on the news!!! That is really great news!!

Artman - you got all your meals/plans done for the Xmas week? I'm such an planner I've got the spreadsheet done and now I am trying to fill in the differing places, etc. and what rides we want to hit. We have no expectations except to ride TSM and EE as we haven't hit it those yet. We know it will be crowded so that will be scary.

Aisling - I know you are staying at WL - still talking about a meet and greet if possible?

I feel so.........used.:sad1:

Watch out Jeff, if Capt Jack joins our thread you will be curb side like the rest of us.

Welcome Jeff and crew.

::yes:: I'd even have to dump you all for Jack ;) and then fight of Aisling and Brenda to get at him :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good Morning - cruise buddies....GOOD NEWS to share...my DD got "engaged" last night...and i guess my SIL to be REALLY DID IT RIGHT....from working with a jeweler 2 mos ago having her ring custom designed to planning a very romantic dinner on their new property where they are building their dream house. She had to fly off to Iowa early this a.m. for her Great Grandfather's funeral, so i haven't even seen the ROCK...but will post photos when she returns...it sounds amazing though!

Congrats you get to plan a wedding :bride: :thumbsup2

thanks - this whole season is bittersweet for both of us - after prelimins last weekend - I saw her and we both started crying - knowning for this type of competition (BOA - Bands of America) - she is done - we stood there and sniffed for a couple and then she says - oh ya mom I need money for hot dogs :rotfl:

They only have 2 more home football games and the last one is senior night

but they have like 5 more band competitions to go

First swim meet is in 10 days

I hear ya a time is coming to an end for your baby...Wilson said the same thing to me this last weekend. "Mom I'll never be able to Kid Kart in Reno again, this was my once in a lifetime" seems so strange to hear that from an 8 year old, but true

So true, from one bean counter to another, but so boring after 20+ years, hence my desire to find a dream rather than a job....anyone got any ideas

Artie, we need a volunteer to start the new thread when that time comes, someone who'll keep the first page list updated. Jill and I have had our turns, so you volunteering?popcorn::

Sure, why not.

I thought it was 200 pages duhhh.

Okay now that I've "volunteered" lets keep all this chit chat to a minimum and try and keep this under 250 pages so I don't have to actually do anything. ;)

This means you Aisling, no more shoes and dresses posts. :lmao:

All of our meal plans are made and we know which park we will be at each day. TSM and EE are high on our list as well, Claudia did TSM in July but Owen and I have yet to experience it, we didn't ride EE last year but did the year before.

Our big to do is to be at rope drop at each of the 4 parks on different mornings. The only way to beat the crowds at Christmas is to be there early. Last year Owen and Claudia rode Dumbo 2 times with no wait at 7:30am. We are usually leave the parks right after lunch and hit the pool and get cleaned up for dinner.

We took this photo 2 years ago early one morning, the MK was virtually empty.

We were there to do the family magic tour, which is why Owen is dressed as Peter Pan. As part of the tour we got to meet Peter Pan and Wendy, Peter chose Owen to ride Peter Pan's Flight with him. We have video of Owen and Peter going hand in hand through Liberty Square and Fantasy Land on their way to the ride.

Later Owen had an interesting encounter with Capt Hook and Mr. Smee and got we got to see Wendy again (who BTW remembered Owen's name). It was our best day ever at WDW and all because of a $30.00 costume.

I say lets put Artie to work. Aisling.. lets seem some DRESSES!!! oh.. and fancy special evening out clutches and handbags!!

Nan, I tried it.. that was cool. I totally think we will have them do that. We once had letters mailed to the kids from the North Pole (its a town in another state.. so the post mark reads North Pole) that was a military base event that was set up 2 xmas's ago.

Picture isn't showing up....:(

We plan on doing many of the rope drops as well and bailing come afternoon. We decided to do the deluxe dining plan so we have alot of sit down meals - figured we could enjoy the characters more without the crowds if we do that. We do have some late nights so I am a little concerned about that but we are also taking some advice from TourGuideMike's website and not going to certain parks on busy days.

We originally wanted to do Candlelight Processional Dinner Package earlier in the week but we decided to do it on Friday, December 26th because we are big fans of Edward James Olmos (and we didn't want to do it on Christmas Day as I have heard that park can get busy - since we have the little ones wanted to try and get a few rides in).

That's when we're doing the CP, too. We'll be at the last one of the night, I forget, like 8 pm? We have a 5:30 dinner at San Angel Inn.

Artie, your pic showed up for me. Very nice.:thumbsup2

We are having a 'disagreement' on how to spend our 1 day at WDW - I want to check in - quick shopping trip to MarketPlace and spend the rest of our time on our sav view balcony - Kara wants to hit all 4 parks that day and still make our dinner at Jiko that night - ya right

Is your one day the 26th? I would STRONGLY recommend against park hopping that day... it's gonna be quite busy, and transportation alone would take a while.

yep the 26th

oh I know - but you know teenagers - they think they know it all

:rotfl2:

I have the same dilemma as Marla. Well, three of us will be there the 25th, but Chad and Louise arrive on the 26th. Marla, I'm with Kara, park hop right through the crowds, all 4 in one day!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff, I've heard of the parks being closed due to capacity on the 25th, but has that even happened on the 26th?

Artie, wanna see a gaw-jis dress I found?:rotfl: Ok, you talked me into it! BRB!

I can't speak to EVER, but it should be interesting to see the crowd levels with the 26th being on a Friday, making for excellent long weekend trips.

I'm not sure of the date, but at least one day during Christmas week 2006 MK, AK and DHS were all closed due to capacity on the same day.

It was the day we went to the Space Ctr. we came back around 4:00pm and AK was reopened then.

Considering I was one only six months ago, I fully know what you mean. :)

But I understand where they are coming from... I'm having hard enough of a time deciding what is worth fitting into 3 park days in my October trip!
