Meredith -- another M to go with Molly! Meredith loves Quest and activities like Disney karaoke, game shows in Studio Sea, etc.

cool, she can give Molly the tour. The age change didn't happen prior to the west repo so Molly was still in the lab. I think she will be happy to move up to Quest and Molly is a ham, so the game stuff is totally up her alley :thumbsup2

Sounds like they will get along very well! This summer was Meredith's first time based in Ocean Quest instead of the Lab, and she really loved it.

Happy Birthday Tiggie!!!!!!!!! Don't spit on the cake when you blow out your candles!

Thank you Ladies!!!

Coming here is always the best way to start my day~

:grouphug:

Aisling, I promise I won't spit on the cake, if we even bother with candles ;)

I have a business expo to go to today, a job fair tomorrow, hopefully a tour and an interview at CBS on thursday night and then an appt at unemployment to see what other schools they'll pay for me to go to on Friday.

It seems no matter what education I get, it's not quite enough to get a job. The market is that horrible. My first choice of schools would be the Connecticut School of Broadcasting (it's actually in NJ nearby), second choice would be veterinary technician. There are quite a few jobs in the paper for vet techs, problem is you need a certificate for that. I saw that our local vocational school offers that certification. The even better part of that is at minimum, I'll save $70 a pop on getting Penny groomed because I'd be able to groom her myself.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it :teeth:

Happy Birthday Tig !

I hope your cake looks nothing like this.

I got a message from my son last night...

it seems his current female friend has moved out of her mom's house and closer to my son in Philly. He's still moving out of the house he was in but now it's to her place. He says he moved his furniture there cause she doesn't have any...whatever...as long as he's happy and I know what he's up to I am cool with that.

He's been avoiding our house to avoid dealing with the loss of Mika. He was very honest with me in his last message - I can appreciate that too.

Kelly, he has Brian's number and promised to call. I have no idea when - he's still such a kid when it comes to follow thru. I know he is serious about the guard and appreciates Brian's offering to talk to him about it. Thank you again for your patience in this.

Tigg,

Have you thought of going to school to become an u/s technician? I have heard they make loads of money and have good hours. Brian is thinking about this when he retires (in like another 10 yrs)..

No worries on Adrian. We are normally around. Have him leave a message if he gets Brian's vmail.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Tiggie,
Happy Birthday to you :goodvibes

ok who do I send the royalty money to for singing that song :lmao: :lmao: just kidding I know it's exempt!

I suggested this to Tig a while back, any kind of radiology/u/s tech, x-ray tech...I worked in health care for many years, and we had Occupational therapists with 4 year degrees going back to school for the 2 year tech certification. They made great money, and you can get a job anywhere. Their in great need what with all the new diagnostic technologies coming out. If he still wants the military benefits, theyn may pay for his education and hire him in a military medical facility. Just another option. He probably doesn't want to go to tech school for 2 years, so that's why going into the military might work for him...he'd be working in the med facility as a low mad on the totem pole, but it'sa career, and then when he's done with school, he moves up into his profession. And I know he'll look so handsome in his white lab coat, and then his military uniform when necessary.:thumbsup2 God, to be young again with the whole world of options open to you! These kids don't realize they hold their future in their hands right now while their young!!

Judy, you mentioned that you do eliptical...I just got home from the gym and my trainer has taken me off the treadmill due to ankle pains, even when taking 2 Aleve. I broke both ankles years ago, and I've never gotten back to 100%. Add to this the excess 40 lbs I'm carrying. He said the eliptical is low impact, burns mad calories, and is cardio/heart/lung beneficial. Any opinions?

P.S. Nan, have I told you lately that I miss you?

Aisling....i have to walk UPHILL on the TM or run to get the same 'calorie burn' as the elliptical....so that's a GREAT alternative....i don't prefer the elliptical over the TM (but that's a personal thing); so i use it as my 'change it up' piece of equipment....once / twice a week.....you may find the ellipitical is better for you & that will become your primary machine ~ adding in the TM or stat bike every once in a while....

I love the elliptical. I wish I had bought one sooner. Yes, you can really burn some calories. I even try to get on one while I'm on the ship. In a half hour, I usually burn about 350 calories, and that's with me taking it slowly. It works your whole body, and has helped me lose weight. It's great since it is low impact. GO FOR IT!!!!

P.S. Nan, have I told you lately that I miss you?

oh.. Aisling, I meant for Tigg to go to school for that.. since she was thinking of careers and schooling and stuff.

But that would work for Adrian too!! ;)

Sooo.. when was the last time you guys were on a 7 night cruise?

The last time I was on a 7 night was 2003. The last time I was on a 4 night was 2006.

Here is my question for the most recent cruisers. Do they still do the themed lunch buffets at Topsiders???? If so, which themes?? I sooo remember the Chinese food themed one.

I was looking at the cruise food pics and was HUNGRY.. and hoping for it.
