Sooo.. when was the last time you guys were on a 7 night cruise?

The last time I was on a 7 night was 2003. The last time I was on a 4 night was 2006. QUOTE]

2005 for us, and yes they had the themed buffets. I only remember Mexican and Chinese, but I know there were others. Those food picture threads are EVIL!!

I wish they had a Mediterranean themed buffet, as that's my FAVORITE food...lamb kebobs with yogurt, salads with Greek olives, feta cheese and olive oil, stuffed grapeleaves, fila stuffed with walnut and pistashio paste topped with honey, rice pllaf with sundried tomatoes and sweet onions, and a srong demitasse cup of Turkish coffee...I'm really really hungry right now, I swear!

Ok, the eliptical it is. My only issue is that I get anxiety with repetitive motion. On the treadmill, I have more control of my stride style to avoid that feeling. The eliptical seems like the same motion over and over again for an hour, but I'll adapt myself accordingly. Hopefully they'll have some mindless tv show on the overhead tv to make the time go by...I'm a very visual person, and the ipod hasn't worked well for me. Gee, I never realized how neurotic I am!

Jill, I took your memory test, and all I can can is that my score sucked! Must have been all that weed back in the day!:hippie: JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

:teeth: :wizard:

I have a HUGE smile on my face right now~

seriously.

Thank you my Magic Mateys :grouphug:

Oh btw-who of you newbies want tshirt logos for your cruise?!?!?!

Here are the two logos I created for your cruise. I am making tshirt iron ons, magnets, stickers and buttons for anyone who wants them. The original plan was for me to mail them to whomever wants them (PM me or message me here if you want in) and then I was to collect repayment in the form of a beverage onboard. Since I am not sailing with you, I am still mailing and making what you all have asked for - what I ask of you is for you to make a point to take a picture of you enjoying a drink in my honor.

I can do small "chest hit" logos or full size for front or back. I am doing 3" circle cutouts for those making pins. I can do magnets if you want one for your door and I bought special photo paper yesterday that is peel & stick for those who want stickers.

If you have a question, just ask - I'm always lurking~

Last time we were on a cruise was Christmas 07. It was a 7 night eastern. Whenever I ate lunch, it was at Goofy's galley(loved the panini's and fruit) never in topsiders. I looked at my old navigators and they still had themed lunches. They were...south of the border, seafood, American, Italian, and Asian.

Jill--Took the memory test--I'm below average:sad1: but just by one point.

Kelly--It's never too early to start packing toiletries! I actually don't completely unpack. I refill some stuff and put it back in the toiletry bag. I also leave my pop up hamper, extension cord, ziplock bags, binoculars, etc. in a bag. You could also start making your packing list--that's fun. I have 2 saved on the computer. One for regular cruises and one for Christmas cruises(I bring decorations and a small tree).

Aisling--with the elliptical, sometimes I use the handlebars(that's what I call them) and sometimes I don't, or I'll go backwards on it or change the tension for a little variety. I have it set up in the basement in front of our tv, so that helps too.

Here are some recent photos of us, taken at our cottage.

We really need some family group photos, should get some good ones on the cruise.

Judy, that's a great idea! Especially the clothes with shoes and jewelry to match (I told you I was a fashion freak!) Ok, this is going to sound nutz, but last time I even sketched out which luggage we were bringing, just to have a visual...2 large suitcases, 1 smaller suitcase, 1 garment bag, 1 toiletries bag, and day bag.

Tried the eliptical this evening, holy cow you must have strong legs! I died on that thing, I really felt the burn, but I was using an inclined one, and I'm definitely not ready for that. I did stick it out, though. Next time it's the flat level girly one for me!

Artie, BEAUTIFUL photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see how having a cottage there is a dream come true.

Tig, get any good birthday presents?

I just noticed Owen wearing Crocs! Cool kid!

John is taking me to see the Pirate exhibit at the Franklin Institute on Friday :woohoo: He's taking the whole day off to spend with me~

He had flowers sent here to the house for me today too.

The kids and John and DFIL and I had dinner together and DFIL bought a couple small cheesecakes for dessert. My sister called to wish me a happy one and to tell me we'll get together this weekend.

Happy Birthday!
Sounds like a nice day with more good stuff to come. :thumbsup2

Nice graphics! It's very nice of you to offer to keep doing logo work.
If it's OK, I'll just copy your designs and use them to make magnets.

Good looking family Artman.
I love the shot with the sailboats and the church in the background. Makes me want to be there right now.

I took the test, but I'm not sure I want to admit how well I did. :rotfl:
Does it count if a couple of them were just lucky guesses?
(I got 15 right)

And... you guys are making me feel guilty with all this exercise talk.
During the school year a friend and I walk every morning after we drop the kids off. But I bailed on her this summer when it got too hot and she joined a gym. I definitely have gym phobia. :guilty:

Sheila, You are absolutely welcome to copy them...

Artman -

the pictures are really nice, looks like you guys found your little piece of heaven on earth

P.S. Nan, have I told you lately that I miss you?

 I miss you too, but we will have 7 wonderful days to chat our heads off. I can't wait. But will you fill in for my beer drinking wander the ship and stalk the captain buddy???:sad2: Tiggie, it is going to be sad without you. We will raise a toast in your honor:dance3:

So in the planning mode here today My sister and I worked our travel agent/WDW planner fingers to the bone today. We booked our Xmas stay 12/23-12/27 (then on the Magic for us for NYE) at AKL concierge. I hope the rooms are as good as the last time we stayed, but I'm worried since they aren't on the top floors anymore :sad2:

We also booked spa events for the girls on Xmas Eve and the boys are going to be sent away for the Petty Racing experience. I'm afraid the only one that doesn't have anyhting special planned is Wilson. I'm not sure what I'll be doing with him so if anyone is at WDW on 12/24 and wants to keep him occupied for the morning/early afternoon let me know :thumbsup2 (Aisling you and the boys busy that day???)

We set dinner on Xmas Eve at Wispering Pines and Xmas Dinner at Boma, then one more dinner together at Sci Fi with Fantasmic after that.

Such a fun time planning on this. I keep thinking that my dad is looking down on us shaking his head and laughing that he doesn't have to go with us (not really, but you get the drift)

We are now a head count of: 13 (maybe up to 15)

My mom(Grammie)
the 4 of us Skjervens
My sis, Lee & her boyfriend Rene and her 2 boys (21+)
My niece and her husband
My nephew and his girlfriend
(still waiting on 2 more nephews)

Gotta go inside and grab something to eat I'm starving from all this planning

Jill...took your quiz & got 15 or 16....the ones i didn't were just a tad before my time...

Never been on anything but 7-day - last one in Apr 07....& never had lunch at Topsiders....b/fast on occasion...but never lunch (oh except for the 1st day of our 1st cruise) back in '05....so didn't even know they had themes...

Tigg....absolutely not will i allow you to send me those iron-ons with out some kind of pmt....something from DL or DCL that you wanted but didn't get maybe?

Aisling...glad you stuck it out on the elliptical....but don't overdo it...start off with what you can easily handle (you need to be able to carry on a conversation)...and gradually increase your speed - level - incline....& even then - don't forget to change it up....your body gets used to you doing the same old same old every day....gotta 'shock' it once in awhile...

Artie....those are some mighty nice photos!!!!!

NAN.....I just realized that we're going to travel 2000 miles to meet each other rather than the 20 miles that we live from one another....:rotfl: but hey at least we'll FINALLY meet up!!!:thumbsup2 sounds like you have some great plans in place!!!

Shall we dare try to get together before we leave and say hi in person???

When are your heading to WDW? and where are you staying if going early?

Well, if you insist :scratchin Dooya feel like looking for a special DL Mickey head antenna topper or magic towel for me? I was thinking it'd be neat if the Year of a Million Dreams ears said Disneyland on the back that that would be nice to have. Nan hooked me up with a Gold set from DLs 50th that has DL on the back (it goes with my Gold Ears 50th set from WDW ;) )

[fyi-if anyone else would like to trade souvies for iron ons I collect Mickey head antenna toppers, Magic Towels and Pins ;) just kidding - not really - but - yeahhhhh :duck: ]

OMG! You two still haven't met, have you!

Nan, you're gonna Love Brenda!

Aisling, Nan's not too hard to keep up with -

just let her have your hand and she will lead the way...

AKL concierge again huh?

Nan, you really are letting of the planning.

I am impressed, stunned and impressed.

yes, frankly I'm feeling like we shouldn't do this trip from the guilty money place and maybe that is making me not stress over any of it :sad2:

Lee really wanted AKL, I was hoping for something different, but everything else was suprisingly more expensive, so ya go with what you know. I am hoping that our views are ok. We are on the 3rd floor, rather than the 5th like last time, so again, I hope we are ok.

I got 16 right.

I used to love watching the old tv shows.. one of the channels used to run them after school. I loved Dobie Gillis!!! lol...

That is great, I was hoping they still did theme's. I liked the Seafood themed one... I just like to be able to get variety from time to time.

Colleen, your birthday sounded wonderful!!! Glad you had such a great day!

Shall we dare try to get together before we leave and say hi in person???

When are your heading to WDW? and where are you staying if going early?
i'll be in Los Gatos with a customer this Sat for a coffee mtg - Michelle will be with me....maybe we could meet for lunch at Santana Row???? I gotta go to the New balance store...You might as well meet her too before the cruise....we are going to WDW 'after' the cruise - better spend Xmas with DH...& figured there might be less crowds as ppl should be traveling back home....we're staying till tues 1/6 at Beach Club Villas

Yes i DO INSIST - so i will def find something you will love!

I am sure you will be fine at AKL...

I would be ;)

The third floor is actually the first floor -

if anything, I would hope that would get you a better (closer) view.

We had third floor poolside when we stayed there in 05.
