NYE- MK vs Epcot?

Your opinion please. Yes I know it will be shoulder to shoulder both places. Mainly going to see fireworks although do have FPs at MK. NYE at Disney has always been on my bucket list so taking the plunge this year.

Because it is so popular, MK shows NYE fireworks on two nights, 12/30 and 12/31. It is the same fireworks show, 360 degrees around the park, and the COOL countdown to midnight.

See MK 12/30, then go to Epcot 12/31.

I agree with PP, we did NYE at WDW 2 years ago- spent 12/30 at MK, however we went late in the day and watched the fireworks at midnight, the crowds were very manageable later in the day and the fireworks were the most amazing I've ever seen in my life!!!! We did Epcot on NYE and although crowded, Epcot is so large and can handle crowds a little better, I would definitely do Epcot again on NYE!!! It was like one huge party with DJs set up in future world, Italy, American adventure, and china. I recommend staying in the Epcot area if you can as transportation will be the biggest challenge that night. We were lucky enough to rent points at BCV. Next time, I may walk back to the room to use the bathroom, as the wait for bathrooms in Epcot was brutal!!!!!! Especially if you are drinking alcohol.....

generally speaking I love illuminations and actually I'm not a huge fan of MK's fireworks BUT on NYE there is really nothing quite as magical as MK's countdown so I'd recommend MK.

Did MK on NYE last year and put it in the category of "been there, did that" and won't do it again. Stood on Main Street for 2 1/2 hours shoulder to shoulder waiting for the big moment. Hadn't actually planned to do main street -- was assuming other sections of the park would be less crowded and were making our way from Frontierland to Tomorrowland and were rerouted behind the buildings of Main Street to get to the front of the park. Was fun though -- but wouldn't do it again. Like PP said -- go the night before for the same show. Next time would pick EPCOT.
