NYC to WDW Xmas Day

My sister is flying out of NYC Xmas morning to meet us at WDW. She claims to have done some on-line research to find a cheap fare. Jet Blue was the best she could do (I'm not sure what airport) - $400 RT! I have heard that Xmas Day is a slow travel day, and expected her to be able to find something a lot cheaper, maybe $200. Does $400 sound high to those of you who have flown from NYC?

That's about the lowest I've seen. I believe Jet Blue flies out of JFK airport. I paid $480 for Delta/Song out of Newark for 12/23.

I'd expect high fares on the 23rd, but Xmas day? Shouldn't there be bargains? I doubt that many people fly on Christmas. Then again, maybe the airlines cut back their scheduled flights to compensate.

But what's the return date? That may be what's driving up the fare.

I just got MCO-MHT for my folks, traveling 12.25 & 1.1, for $215. There were no discounted fares for any dates around the actual holidays.
