I have reviewed the restaurants on the other NYC thread. I love that thread by the way! My DS will be turning 15 on the last day of our trip. Any restaurant stand outs for my birthday boy? I want it to be a memorable experience for him, but not break our budget too badly.

I've never been there but I hear Jekyll and Hyde is awesome. :)

Max Brenner in the Union Square area is great. It's a chocolatier truly with amazing desserts. But they also do a full menu with some chocolate ingredients. It's really cool and smells delicious. Reminds me of dining with Willy Wonka.

Idk how many are in your party but I would definitely recommend Carmine's. It's family style so you really only have to order 1 or 2 things (depending on how many people)

I took my 14 year old niece to Jekyll and Hyde when she came to visit me last week and she loved it.

Love Max Brenner!

another vote for Jeykll and Hyde's!

There is always Hard Rock too!

Never a fan of Jekyll and Hyde but I do like the Hard Rock.
Carmines is really pretty cheap-I go there with 2-4 people and we get one Dish (about 28.00) and it feeds all of us- when I go with just 2 of us we come home with a big bag of leftovers! The other place like that is Tony DiNapolis, same concept as Carmines and I LOVE the Zucchini appetizer that they have there!!!!

We are fans of Buca di Beppo in Times Square as well as Ellen's Stardust Diner... both make a big fuss over bdays!

If you don't have a hibachi place near you, Benihana is a great fun special occasion restaurant too!

ESPN Zone is great if he's a sports lover... Bubba Gump Shrimp if he's a fan of the movie or a seafood lover...

Ellens is a fun place but the food there is absolutely horrible. My daughter likes the singing so now when we go we know to NEVER EVER order the food and just get dessert!

I have Carmines's on our list. We have four people, but sometimes we don't agree with tastes on family style foods and end up spending more money:) We have friends who have mentioned this restaurant too.

We love Buca Di Beppo. We have one that is about an hour away and my DD18 wanted it for her bday dinner last year:) We took 6 of her closest friends and it was wonderful. I didn't know there was one in Times Square. We have Ellen's Stardust Diner on our itinerary for another day, but I thought it did look fun for his bday. However, he is a great sports lover; our TV is always on ESPN. I bet that will be his choice! Thanks so much. I'll have to check on the location. Thanks for the suggestions!

This place sounds wonderful. I dream of chocolate:) We will have to go for Mom!! Not sure if my son will want it as much as me!

we have only ever been for b'fast/brunch and enjoyed it every time... their French toast is outstanding!

the last time I was there years ago Hard Rock made a big fuss for each birthday. i think it totally depends on what he is like. if he is an adventurous eater he may enjoy a trip to china town. if you go downtown i have heard smac is amazing and i love Bareburger, its just a burger place but the best burgers and fries i have ever had.

if you are looking for something big and flashy it most likely will need to be around times square.

Jekyll and Hyde
This is your birthday song, it isn't very long.

Food isn't great but the experience is fun.

Virgils BBQ is good too. Train wreck fries mmmmm.

Just checked ESPN Zone on google, but it said it is now closed. I think he would have really loved it.

We will be checking the rest of these suggested restaurants out tomorrow online. Thanks everyone for your help.

First restaurant that came to my mind also was Jekyll and Hyde.

Max Brenner's, Jekyll & Hyde's & Ninja's are favorites of ours. Ninja's is super, but absolutely NOT budget friendly.

Enjoy!
