Can't disagree with DVC California! The Floridian airports I have been to, including Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale, I have the same reaction as kandb as I find the Floridian airports cleaner, more enjoyable, and more efficient. However, living 30 minutes from both JFK/LGA, I have used both airports many times (have not used EWR as I am on Long Island) and I have found that JFK/LGA are better than they used to be, thanks to the airlines investing in their terminals, which is evident at jetBlue's Terminal 5 at JFK, which is clean, modern, efficient, and has many high quality restaurants and shops and Delta's Terminal 4 at JFK (also shared with other carriers), which has a large concourse with shops and restaurants reminiscent of a suburban shopping mall, clean surroundings, and chairs at the gates with their own outlets for electronics. It does have long walks to some gates due to the long concourses, so that's a con. Even Delta's older JFK Terminal 2, while still dated compared to Terminals 4 and 5, is cleaner and nicer than it used to be and has high quality concessions that give you a break from the typical chain restaurant fare (save for a Wendy's). AA's JFK Terminal 8 isn't bad either, but has an awkward layout requiring you to go up and down a midfield concourse in order to reach certain gates and not as good of a selection of concessions. At LGA, Delta's Terminals C/D are nice, with high quality restaurants and shops as well as tables with iPads at the gates to kill time. Unfortunately, the Central Terminal at LGA is not good at all, as it is old and dingy, making Vice President Biden's statement on LGA true if you fly out of that terminal. The Floridian airport will still beat the NYC airports, but it looks like there is hope. Happy travels!
