I attended the Member event at the Garden City Hotel last evening.

They confirmed that prices would be going up from the current $112 to $120 per point. Incentives for current members adding on were as follows.

BLT: $12 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$13 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$14 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$16 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

SSR & AKV: $20 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$21 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$22 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$24 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

GCV: $23 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$24 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$25 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$27 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

Having added on to GCV earlier this year I can't take advantage of these offers unfortunately but I wish I could have gotten this deal.

I forgot when I was posting early this morning thst they were also thowing in Broadway tickets to Lion King and/or Mary Poppins. 2 tickets for purchasing 125 - 159 points or 4 tickets for purchasing 160 or more points. I didn't ask if the ticket promotion extended to the properties other than BLT because I totally forgot about it when I spoke with my guide.

One of the guides I spoke with was not sure that the cost would be going up at all 4 properties or if it would just be BLT. During the presentation they stated that the price per point was definitely increasing soon but the examples they gave were all for BLT.

I met with my guide to find out the details on the incentives for each property. My guide said that the higher incentives for GCV are because they want to get the property sold out quickly and that sales are going well.

I would advise anyone attending this weekend and planning to add on to seriously consider which property you prefer and would use the most before choosing due to the huge differences in the incentives for each property. I agree with those who say you should buy where you plan to stay. Since I have no interest in BLT the choice would be easier for me if I were buying because the only factor would be whether I wanted to add more points at WDW or DL.

Current dues for BLT are $3.67 per point and for GCV they are $3.82 per point. I don't know what they are for SSR or AKV but they indicated that most were around $5 per point.

They announced that the official ribbon cutting date for the Doorway to Dreams store is October 17.
My guide said the opening dates are 10/16-10/18.

I am a little confused as I did not realize this was a member event...we were invited and we are not yet members. Does anyone know what the non-member incentives were? I was really hoping that they would be so great they would sway us to join now!

Me too....

I know at the VGC event at Disneyland they held different sessions for members and prospective members. This is probably the same situation.

OIC. Do you remember if/what the differences were for the incentives offered for new vs. existing members?

If sales are going well, why provide higher incentives? That doesn't make much sense.

What are the current prices (before incentive) for SSR and AKV add-ons? Is it $112/point, or is that just BLT's point cost?

The 4 non-soldout properties; BLT, SSR, AKV & GCV are all being sold at $112 per point before incentives.

Someone already said they have different sessions for current members than prospective members. Current members can bring guests to the member sessions but they probably have a slightly different presentation geared to prospective new members. I think at the California event they offered new members with referrals from current members almost the exeact same deals as the current members but I think the incentives didn't kick in unless you buy the minimum 160 point initial buy in. Yesterday there was a 4PM session for non-members I believe and a 7PM for current members, I think the only one offered for current members today was the 10AM one and the rest are for new members.

As for the better incentives for GCV I was told the sales are going well and they hope to have it sold out before the end of the year so they can push to get another property rolling in CA. (This may be true or just a sales pitch but I'm just repeating what I was told by my guide.)

I talked to a chatty guide back in July who emphatically stated that sales at GCV were nowhere near expectations. The large incentive seems to back this up. :rolleyes1

Based on the higher incentive I tend to agree with you and I had heard the same rumor about slow sales. But if one is interested in purchasing GCV this is a great deal. My incentive when I did my add -on was only $16 per point. If it had been this good then I would probably have added on at least 200 raather than the 160 that I did. I'd love to get more but can't afford it right now.

I asked my guide about a small BCV add-on and she quoted me $106 pp. I asked about a December UY and she said they had 1,000 available points.....and they had 2008 points available as well. I didn't think that was too bad considering small BCV contracts are selling in the $90's pp with usually nothing earlier than 2009 points. I thought it would have been at the $112 pp price point.

Just curious -- are the NY incentives only good for those who actually attend the DTD LI opening? I got an invite, but couldn't travel to Long Island (too far with a 4 year old).

Generally at events like this one the incentives are only good for the event.

I was supposed to go this morning but one of my dogs got hurt and I had to go to the vet instead. After reading the inceentives I am not upset that I missed it. I added on twice at VGC once before going to DL and more points when I got back and I got relatively the same incentive for the second add on I tink this incentive is only $1 difference in the cost and to be qutie honest right now I have just enough points.

Does anyone know what the incentives are for new members or was this only an existing member event?

Just got back from "new member" event....
Prices are same as quoted....

$100 pp for BLT (160 and goes up from there as mentioned)
$92 pp for AKV, and SSR (again, tiered as above)....

Broadway show tickets also added for over a certain pt range (forget how many)....

was there any incentives offered for less than 100 pts. at BLT. I'm going tomarrow and was looking to maybe add-on 50 points.

Is that $92 BEFORE the incentive? A previous poster mentions $112. $92 less a $21 incentive, for a total of $71 per point seems very very low for a purchase directly from DVC.

No... as i stated, the prices were the same as the first poster....
112 regular rate... -12 incentive for BLT....

It was $92/point with the incentive for a 160 pt contract. We ended up doing a 200 pt contract and got it for $90/point. It was $22 off and we also got the 2 broadway tickets. :thumbsup2
