Today is MGM day and I'm up at 7:00 and trying to get everyone up so we can catch the 8:00 bus. Everyone is up, dressed and eating breakfast. Babe says he's not hungry and wants to know if I have any nausea medicine left over. Uh-oh! We head out and catch the 8:10 bus to MGM. When we get there we stand in line at the entrance. We have about 10 people in front of us and then Loudboy has to go to the bathroom. I may have to change his name to Badtiming Boy. Well, Babe takes the boys to the restroom and then they start letting people into the park. I have all the tickets, so I have to get in the back of the ever-growing line, hoping they'll come out soon. After getting up to the front 2 more times and going to the end again they show up. There are so many people waiting for the rope drop, so we stop and look at the pin cart. Loudboy finds a Cutie Donald pin which is a Disney version of Hello Kitty. He buys it cause he loves Donald and they haven't bought anything hardly. They have their own money and I just knew they'd run out from wanting everything, but it's been just the opposite. We get our picture taken in front of the hat and there were CMs handing out carnations and saying "Happy Mother's Day!" Oh yeah, I forgot it's Mother's Day! "Happy Mother's Day, Mom!" the kids and Babe say. When the rope dropped we made our way to Indiana Jones to get a fastpass. Then we head on towards Star Tours, Sci-fi Guy has really been waiting for this one. We walk right on and I sit on one end and Babe on the other with the kids between us. We ride and for some reason, whenever we get on one of these simulated rides I don't feel a thing. It frustrates me, because everyone is screaming and having a good time and I'm just sitting there. I wish I could get into it, oh well. We follow the exit which leads (of course) into the souvenir shop and look around. I hadn't seen Babe, because I was leading us into the shop and while me & Loudboy are looking at the stuffed Ewoks, Babe whispers in my ear, "I'm going to go outside and get some air." I turn to look at him and he is drenched in water. "Did you pour the water bottle over your head?" I ask. "No," he says, "I'm sweating, I wanted someone to stop that ride, I was going to throw up." From that ride? I think to myself. He must have caught what we had. We do some shopping and I buy my nephew a Darth Tater and we head out to Muppets 3D.
Babe doesn't feel to good and doesn't look to good either, but says he'll be okay. He asks where we're going and I say,"Muppets 3D." "That's not a simulation ride, is it?" he asks. "No." I laugh. Now Loudboy is a Muppet freak and has been talking about this ride for 9 months straight. So to finally see it has him grinning from ear to ear. We go right in and it's nice and cool and Babe can rest a little while. The show was fantastic, and I loved watching Loudboy trying to touch the 3D stuff floating in front of us. I thought only little kids did that and even found myself fighting the urge to touch the apple pie. After the show, we check out the souvenir shop where Loudboy finds a Kermiana Jones figure and buys it. He's looking for a Scooter stuffed animal, but they're out. So, I lead them to Honey, I Shrunk set to let them play and to give Babe another chance to sit and relax. He asks where we're going and I say "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." "That's not a simulation ride, is it?" "No," I laugh.
Babe sits on a log, or I guess it would be a twig, right? I take the kids around and snap photos of them playing. Loudboy discovers the Kodak film slide and here he comes, "AAAHHHHH!!!" earning his name. Sci-fi Guy gets on, but uses his shoes and hands to prevent him from sliding and instead is slowly bumping his way down. I check on Babe and he's chatting away with another father on the log/twig. I'm up and down the place like an 8 year old tom-boy and then I discover the giant rope web. Babe has gotta do this. I get Babe and tell him to follow us and poor thing is huffin and puffin his way up after me. Oh yeah, he's sick, I forgot. Bad idea!
When we get down, I ask Babe if he's hungry cause we have a PS at Sci-Fi Dine-In. He's hungry and so is everyone else. We head on to Sci-Fi and wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Sci-Fi Guy is in heaven, he loves this stuff!
They sit in the front seat and our waiter warns me & Babe about making out in the backseat. I order the kids glow cubes, and they thought that was so cool, they had no idea! Babe & I share Coca-Cola ribs and they were great!
He seems to be feeling better. I'm glad.
After eating, it's time to go to Indiana Jones, but we stop outside to take a picture of the sign and then, "My camera!" "Babe, I left my camera at the table!" Babe runs faster than Dash Incredible into the restaurant cause attached to that camera is a brand new $200 zoom lens that he bought me just for this trip. About 5 minutes of praying and Babe appears with camera in tow. I vow that I will never take that camera off my neck for the rest of the week. I didn't, and I have the scars to prove it.
