No, I think somewhere posted on the NS boards are recipes for creating NS-like foods, since cost is a factor for many people...

About the bad snacks I like to have :) , I've found I'm doing much better when I'm eating a fruit & protein snack in the afternoon... I've craved the other bad stuff less, or, in my case I think I've replaced it... I have applesauce & ham throughout the afternoon...

About those soy chips, I cannot stand them! Have you tried the crunchy chocolate bar? I LOVE that! I plan to eat one daily :) So when my kids & DH pull out the brownie pan, I have something to eat BESIDES what they are baking!!! It's really been very bad!

I've also been surprised that I've kept drinking the water, I've never done that before, I think it helps to suppress the cravings as well.... plus, I can still have a skim latte from Starbucks on occasion & that qualifies as a non-fat dairy.... I can live with that :)

What I need is a replacement for the Nutrichocolates and the Chocolate Crunchy Bars. We just spent over $100 on chocolates! :rotfl: There's got to be a better way!

We just placed an order for entrees that are as healthy as NS. They're HMR entrees, from http://www.healthysuccessonline.com. Chicken Pasta Parmesan is good. Chicken Creole is very good, especially with some Cajun salt in it. Chicken with Barbecue Sauce with Rice and Beans is pretty yummy. Cheese and Basil Ravioli in Tomato Sauce is very good. Mushroom Risotto is pretty new; I haven't tried it yet. Five-Bean Casserole is great with some tabasco. Turkey Chili with Beans is great both as a stew and as topping for salad. Lasagna with Meat Sauce is my favorite. Mexican-Style Bean and Beef Enchiladas with Sauce is very spicy-hot... you might want to expend a protein credit in the form of low-fat cheese. Vegetable Stew with Beef is very filling and very good given how few calories it is.

Are the HMR foods less expensive? How do they taste?

As for the chocolate crunch bars, forget it, you are NEVER going to find a replacement LOL... they are too TOO good!!!!!

How many of those chocolates did you buy to spend a hundred bucks? :rotfl: After I finish with the NS pre-packaged foods believe me, I'm sticking with those things no matter what! Hundred bucks or no LOL....

Yes, much less expensive. $3.30 each instead of $4.50 to $5.99.

We bought a whole month's supply for two of us -- the two types of chocolates are all we order as snacks.

Hey everyone! I just order Nutrisystem and I am excited to get started. I needed the structure and portion control. So we will see. I did NS for a month last year before finding out I was pregnant. I had lost about 13lbs that month, so I know it did work. So hopefully it will again!!! Thanks for having this thread to share thoughts!:goodvibes

Welcome Kamgen! Did you use the $30.00 buddy bucks coupon, if not I could send you one... Anyhow, I've been on the program one month Tuesday and have not weighed in for a week so I have no idea where I'm at, but I'll report back!

Chris- no I didn't!! Can you send me the coupon?? PM me with details please!:thumbsup2

I have been on nutrisystem 6 weeks now and am down 11 lbs. I think thats pretty good considering I went to WDW last tues - saturday! I took the food with me and did pretty good. Was hoping to be a little further along by now, but I just really need to excersize more. Have been trying to go to Curves 3 times a week, but have only been going 2 times. Getting back on track now that I am home.

SamRoc, considering you were at Disney, and still losing weight, I think you did awesome! I would have gained five pounds back myself....

Will someone please pm me the buddy coupon code?

If I order now, can I ask that they delay the food? Or can the food sit around for a couple of weeks. I am dieting & exercising now, but I really want to start NS after Memorial Day because it is after our vacation.

Does the food ship frozen?

I mentioned a week or two ago that we've started buying lunches from HMR, and having salads for lunch with tuna, salmon, or crab instead of NS entrees. Also, for breakfast, we're buying cereal from the supermarket that has much better nutritional stats than any of the NS cereals, most of which have cane juice! :scared: (Special K Low Carb Lifestyle Protein Plus is one of the cereals "better" than NS'.) Also for breakfast, we're using the shakes we've used for years. (Myoplex Lite also has much better nutritional stats than any of the NS shakes). While we cannot find soy chips that are better than the ones from NS, we have found supermarket chips that are just about as good.

The NutriChocolates and the chocolate crunch bars, especially, are irreplaceable. I cannot find a similar chocolate candies that have anything close to the nutritional profile that NS's chocolate candies have. (Has anyone found anything close???)

Also, the NS dinners are decent though, and so we'd like to continue using them. So given that we still need to order from NS, does anyone know of any flat %-off discounts? We're not ordering full day's worth of food anymore, so discounts that require 7/7/7/7 won't work for us.

Hey Bicker,

You might want to call them up and ask about their "value" options... I think that's what they are calling them, you can order JUST desserts and desserts for instance.... If you are on autoship, I would think the 10 or 15% discount would still apply to you, it's worth asking about that....

I have found a nifty discount for new customers....

http://www.nutrisystem.com/shop/main.cfm?action=catalog/displayDefault

Gives $50.00 off & one free week of food.... if you select Autoship you save an additional 32.00 & you can always change your ship date or cancel... Then you can choose your own foods & if you know a current member that can send you a buddy coupon (like myself) they can send you the buddy coupon... brings the whole first month down to 213.00.... so if you wife hasn't ordered yet, that might be worth a go for you....

Both my wife and I have ordered. I was her "first month friend".

Can you autoship if all you're ordering is chocolate and dinners?

Bicker I'm quite sure you can autoship... give customer service a call & ask about the programs they offer & report your findings, since I'll need the same info in a few months!

Yeah, I cannot see any way to do it online. I guess I'll have to try to call when I get a chance.

Thank you! It was so funny packing my nutrisystem food in my suitcase! But i really tried to stay with this, as I am finding it works. Down 13 lbs. now and want to keep going The only thing I did have when I was at Disney was my Minnie Strawberry Bar, I stuck with salads the rest of the time. I think all that walking helped too.

Hi everyone!

Just checking in. I'm at about 10 weels now and am down 18 lbs. I took a week long trip to LA and DLR - didn't lose any, but didn't gain either. I'm still feeling pretty good about the program, but i do eat restaurant food about once a week. I find my portion control is much better than it used to be. I still find it hard to make myself exercise, though. I just need to find the motivation!
