Nutrisystem 2007 group.

bpr2002, 30 pounds in 3 months is awesome! I'm hoping mine works that way. I just put up another thread but I started today and so far, so good.

Thank you, so much!! :goodvibes
I have struggled to make it to 40 pounds. I have felt every second of the diet and exercise! But work has been really stressful so I think that had a lot to do with sinking my motivation.

Good luck to you and all those who are starting out. Please do not hesitate to PM me if you have questions or just need to comment or vent! :grouphug:

I've been doing Nutrisystem for about 3 months. My DH is down to his target weight (he had less to lose - 20lbs) and I've done pretty well. We are both going to come off it (I'm worried DH will lose too much weight, he isn't good at adding extra carbs) and I'm going it alone. It has been a really great way to learn about portion control and carb limits. It's got me enjoying veggies again, which is always a good thing. I am not a big fan of many of the entrees, which I has become a big deal to me. I might switch out with some WW meals.

I started nutrisystem today. Went to the store and got the extras I needed. I thought I could have bread (I read the mens side of the booklet!) So now My husband and kids will have to eat they rye bread I bought. Will also be continuing to go to Curves very early in the morning before work 3 times a week. Hopefully this will work!

There are Low GI carb allowances, but they're only for men, or for women with more than 100? pounds to lose. A regular bread is never allowed. I typically buy either Wasa Fibre Rye whole grain crackers (each one is about 40 calories) or Joseph's Oat Bran and Flax whole grain mini pitas (each one is about 45 calories).

What is a good brand of nonfat milk? I tried the skim plus and it doesnt taste very good.

Skim Plus is one of the best, I've found. The only one I've found that tastes better is Hood's "Over the Moon".

I'm on day 7 now. I had to stay home today because I felt really icky last night and I'm fighting a low fever. DH says that eating healthy for a week has sent my body into shock! :rotfl: I still haven't had an entree that wasn't good. I didn't like the pretzel dessert, but the others are good--the strawberry shortcake bar was amazing (I can't remember if that was a breakfast bar or a dessert). I will admit I tried the smoked flavor scrambled eggs Sunday and ended up giving half of them to the dog. But I think I've dropped almost 5 pounds (45 to go). That's normal for me during the first week of a serious diet, though. I have walked 3 times and rode my bike once. I want to get back to the gym but the kids' schedules aren't giving me much flexibility--when I'm on spring break I'm going to try to get there every day.

I just finished my second day and had a headache today. That always happens about the 2nd or 3rd day after I stop drinking Coke and Tea. I guess I'm just having caffeine withdrawl. I like the apple oatmeal and the cereal. The pizza tonight was pretty good too.

The mac & cheese isn't too bad either. DH has pretty much enjoyed all the meals, I've found it a lot more difficult than I expected. A few I have found to be completly inedible, avoid the Tuna casserole would be my hint!

I tried that apple oatmeal at work Monday. It smelled great! But it said to microwave 4-5 minutes. I put the microwave on 3 min. 50 sec. and then with about 30 seconds left looked in and noticed it had blown all over the place! The styrofoam microwave bowl was all bent up and about 1/2 the oatmeal was in the microwave. What was left tasted good though! I just have to figure out what happened.
I just ate my dessert early--I have to go to the cheerleading banquet tonight (DD#1 can only be there for a few minutes before play practice) and told them I won't be eating--I can't very well take my salad into the restaurant so I ate a chocolate crunch bar now since dinner will probably be about 8 for me.

Made it through day 3 today and stayed on track. I had the strawberry toaster pastry which i really liked, as well as the chicken soup. But for dinner I had the chicken wih almonds rice and veg and i thought it was awful, wont be re-ordering that one! I guess its just a trial and error thing. I really liked the almond biscotti. I used to go to BJ's and buy a huge plastic container of these, it was funny only having one! Guess I have to learn how to set my limits.

I've been switching things around. The lunches really don't appeal to me, so I'm having salad and one or two protein servings I'm supposed have each day for lunch, and then having one of the lunchtime bars for a dessert after dinner.

I have found a lot of the meals, especially the bars to be way too sweet tasting for my liking. That strawberry toaster....good grief, I always thought I had a sweet tooth, but not that sweet! I think it's a question of just not being able to stomach that level of sweetness at breakfast.

I hope I'm not coming off too jaded. I've been on the diet for 3 months, and have done well. However the food is starting to get me down. I'm becoming very anti-soy! I can't believe how bad it tastes, I'm starting to notice it in a lot of the foods. It's still a pretty amazing diet though, so ignore my moaning and go for it!!

Hi everyone!

I'm on day 10 now ... most food still tastes good. I tried the PB spead for lunch today ... tossed it out. I didn't like it all. Pizza for dinner was good, though (I had been avoiding it!). Today was a bit tough, as I'm not feeling great. Oh well, tomorrow is sure to be better! :hippie:

I'm a little confused about something, it says you can have the skim milk with the cereal, but does that count towards your daily allowance?

No, from what I understand they expect you to put about 4oz of skim milk on your cereal, and that is already included in that meal. You don't need to use up a dairy allowance on that.

4 oz of skim milk in your cereal does not count towards your allowance.

Sometimes its hard to believe that Nutrisystem makes really good stuff and some yucky things as well. I almost died last month when I heated up the tuna casserole dinner-it smelled like catfood!!! I took one bite and threw the rest in the garbage!! Not ordering that again. On the other hand, the lasagna is really good as is the pasta fagioli. Wasn't crazy about the orange chicken either.

I really liked the lasanga, too! Can't bring myself to open the chicken salad, though ... :scared:

I'm on my 3rd week - weigh in will be Wed...so far down 6.5 lbs.

Am for the most part enjoying the food - have decided I don't like the fajitas, the tuna casserole, and 1 more that I can't remember what it was right now.

I figure I need help, and can't do it on my own. I want to look better for my 20th high school reunion (sometime this year), trip to Argentina to see family (Sept), and (most importantly :rotfl: ) for my Panama Canal sailing on DCL in May 2008. Someone posted on that thread that if we can average a 1 lb loss per week, we'll have lost 60 lbs by the time we leave Port Canaveral.

Good luck to all of us!
