Nutrisystem 2007 group.

Hi everyone!

Just checking in. I'm at about 10 weels now and am down 18 lbs. I took a week long trip to LA and DLR - didn't lose any, but didn't gain either. I'm still feeling pretty good about the program, but i do eat restaurant food about once a week. I find my portion control is much better than it used to be. I still find it hard to make myself exercise, though. I just need to find the motivation!

Congratulations! 18 lbs in 10 weeks is great! I have been on nutrisystem now for 8 weeks and have lost 20 lbs. (have a way to go yet!) I have been going to Curves now 4 days a week instead of 3. Its tough to squeeqe in with everything else, but I really need to do it. Luckily they open very early in the morning, and I like to go before work and before it gets too hot out.

Getting ready to order. So if I order tonight, it will get here Monday or Tuesday. Do you have to be home to sign for it? What if you are not home?

Unfortunately since it's a Friday, it won't go out now until Monday... and the good news is, there's nothing to sign for, you don't have to be home for it to be delivered....

Hi all!

I just spotted this thread and wanted to say congrats to all who are doing amazing on the Nutrisystem plan! I'm so impressed with how much weight everyone has lost!!

I'm trying to lose some weight before my wedding and Disneymoon (yay!!) in August. I've looked at Nutrisystem before, but could never seem to justify the cost compared to just trying to eat salad for lunch and LeanCuisine for dinner. Is there really something different in how the Nutrisystem food is made or is it really just the portion control?!? I'm really good about having just a granola bar or nonfat yogurt for breakfast and salad for lunch, I just haven't really gotten down to disciplining myself for dinner yet :) Do you think Nutrisystem would be worthwhile or would I be just as well off sticking with the WeightWatchers or LeanCuisine for dinner?? Any advice would be great!!

Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Nutrisystem is expensive, but it honestly works for me. I couldnt do this on my own, and needed help losing weight. I am learning about portion control with this program. Sometimes you just need a jump start and then you notice you are losing weight and you become more motivated. Since starting nutrisystem, I joined Curves and excersize 3-4 times a week. I wasnt doing that before I started the program. You dont have to stay on Nutrisystem forever. My friend lost 65 lbs in 6 months and that was a year ago, she only orders once every 3 months now.Good luck!

Can I join?? I am on day 3 and very hungry at this point. I am just used to larger portions. I hoping this phase will wear down by next week. So far everything I have tried I have liked. I was disappointd in the cheese pizza... I liked the taste but it was so small... I didn't care for the chocolates at all... but other than that I have been pleased.

I have always done WW before and I was getting sick of cooking and preparing. This is what I like about NS... It's all prepared for me with the exception of salads.

My goal is to lose 40lbs... 20lbs by the end of summer.

I think you can join :)

If you are still hungry add in extra vegetables and salad as well... also drink your water, I'm one to talk, I haven't in about a week, just too busy :(

But, on the plus side I'm in a wheelchair and can't exercise, and even still, I've lost 15 pounds since 3/3. If I can lose 5 pounds a month ANYBODY can, and probably a lot more!

Congratulations on starting your journey :)

I am confused about the pancakes... Do you put syrup on them? It doesn't say on the package but it shows on the pictures. So I did but very little. I actually like the pancakes.. I can have and egg beaters in the morning and it's very filling...

Thanks!! I am sooo excited for the honeymoon and hopefully I'll look good in all the bikinis I've been ordering in preparation!

Well, I thought about it a lot and with about 8 weeks left, I jumped in and went for it. With the help and advice of Miz Diz (thank you!!), I saved a bundle of money and my order is on the way!

Thanks to everyone for all the inspiration and I'll keep you posted on the progress over the next few weeks! I'm hoping to lose about 7 pounds, so keep your fingers crossed that it works! :thumbsup2

I've lost 4 pounds! I've been on the plan for about a week and a half. Monday will be 2 weeks. It has been so easy. Had the pancakes and I did put lite syrup on it. Next time I will use Sugar Free.

Miz Diz - Congrats on the speedy loss so far! How exciting to see the pounds just coming off! :cool1:

Today is my second day on Nutrisystem and so far so good except for the apple toaster pastry. What is in that thing?!? Yucky! :crazy2: Any hints on what other items to avoid?

Thanks!

Just checking in!
I have been on NS for 8 weeks (with a 3 day WDW trip in there) and lost 15lbs! I wish it was more, but dont we all!;)
I was so bad last night...Dh wanted to go out for wings and beer and watch the NBA draft. I had every intention of getting a salad with grilled chicken...but those darn boneless wings and that cold beer got the best of me! Gonna have to work out harder today when the kids take their naps....oh well....
We are going on our WDW/DCL wedding/honeymoon trip in a little over 2mths and I MUST lose more weight...I hope to lose another 30lbs by then, but realistically as long as I keep losing and getting healthier, i will be happy....but wish I knew a way to speed it up. I hear about people with 4 and 5 lb loses in one week...my biggest was 2.5!

Good luck everyone on NS...I really like it and find that it works (I just hate the toaster pastries and those NASTY blueberry muffins!)

Hey, I like those blueberry muffins!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I averaged 2 pounds a week until I lost what I wanted to, right now I'm coasting, doing some of the stuff on my own, supplementing with NS meals here and there, and trying not to go back to my old ways that put the pounds on in the first place. If I could lose another 5 pounds I'd be really happy, but I hit my goal weight, and that's worth something :) You will get there Kamgen, I just averaged 2 pounds a week until I hit my goal, which tells me my goal could be a little lower perhaps....

But anyhow, even if you stick with the 2 pounds a week, you'll be down another 15 pounds before your trip, how great will that be??? You should pat yourself on the back!! You're doing great :)
Chris

Thanks Chris...and sorry about the muffins! LOL!!!:goodvibes

I guess if I could hit 2lbs consistently for the next 11 weeks, that would be 22 lbs and that would make me happy! You know, you set a goal and then things happen in life that set you back and when you can't hit it in "time" you guet frustrated instead of seeing all the great progress....I was over 200 and now in the 150's....I should be ecstatic!! I wish I would have went to NS sooner, but the money just was a huge factor...now I have 11 weeks and would love to hit my goal (which is another 30lbs) but another 20 would be fantastic!

It is good to know I am not alone in the 2lb range....but man, 5 or 6 a week would rock! LOL!;)

kamgen - Congrats on your great progress so far!! And don't we all wish it were five pounds a week! As for the blueberry muffins - they're growing on me, but I really do sort of force myself to eat them! :scared:

I'm just checking in after 2 weeks on Nutrisystem now - I've lost 3 pounds so far! Yay!! And I had quite a few cheat days in there (eeks, about 5 cheat days - all those summer weekend barbecues and 4th of July celebrations!!), so I'm super excited that it's actually working!

I was on Weight Watchers from February until I started Nutrisystem and just could not seem to get rid of this last bit of weight - Nutrisystem is like a miracle worker! My friends are saying I sound like a commercial, but it really is amazing that it works as well as it does. It must be all that protein that keeps you full and keeps your metabolism up because I think that on Weight Watchers, even though I was sticking to the points (and exercising a ton, mind you!), I think the fact that you can use up all your points on empty calories meant that my metabolism slowed down and didn't allow me to lose any weight. But now...woohoo! :woohoo:

In case this helps anyone who's new like me and trying things for the first time:
Food likes - those yummy chocolate crunch bars are the best! Also, a lot of their pasta in tomato sauce dishes are quite good, and the craberry orange scone thing.

Food dislikes - the Tex Mex rice and beans thing for lunch, the chicken salad (I had it for lunch while traveling on the train and I felt like I was *that* passenger because it smelled so bad! ), and pretty much anything that you have to add hot water to.

I don't like the toaster pastries, but if you actually put them in the toaster, they do taste a little better.

For lunch I do like the chicken salad and so does DH. I love the Chicken stew with Barley - sounds yuck but is very good. We also both like the ham and bean soup - it was a freebie - I would have never ordered it, but we both liked it. I like the burgers and put mine on 2 slices of rye bread. I love the lasagna and ravioli

I love the mint choc crunch bars!

I've been on NS for 4 weeks and have lost 8 pounds. I too wish I could lose more per week. We are going to Disney Sept 1 and would love to have a total of 30 pounds off, but know that is not going to happen. I have been trying to exercise 3-5 times a week. DH has lost 15 pounds.

I have had a few cheats. Every Saturday we have gone out for dinner. Weekend before last, we had a salad and shared a small pizza - I ate 1 1/2 slices. Normally I would have eaten more and not had the salad.

This past weekend we ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings and potato skins. Then later, at home, I had ice cream. I know that was terrible, but I started my period! The good thing was I only ate 1/4 of the cheeseburger, 2 small onion rings and 1/2 of a potato skin. THe ice cream was light. I got on the scale the next morning and I had not gained any. Before NS, I would have eaten the entire burger, a few rings and at least 1 potato skin. AND I would have eaten regular ice cream and probably had seconds - (see my tag)

One other thing I've been doing.

I bought these Klondike Slim Bear 100 calorie ice cream sandwiches. There are 6 in the box and very yummy. A couple of nights, I have had that for my dessert instead of the NS dessert.

I'm seriously thinking of joining today. I wanted to sub so I can follow this thread.
