At our house, we like Nutella on a slice of French bread.
I thought that was supposed to be the norm!

I know it's probably calories galore

Oh - and I saw one of those commercials lately, where they imply that Nutella is healthy. More like it's "part" of a healthy snack. You just have to put it on something healthy. Then I guess it makes the healthy food taste better, so kids are willing to eat it.
Not intended to ruin anyone's enjoyment:
ingredients: sugar, modified palm oil, hazelnuts, cocoa, skim milk, reduced minerals whey (from milk), soy lecithin: an emulsifier, vanillin: an artificial flavor.

LOL! The ads are ridiculous. I think I heard one where they describe it as a "creamy hazlenut spread with a...." (I love this part) "....touch of cocoa" HA HA HA. It's a freaking jar of fudge with an hint of fake hazelnut, at best (see an above poster with a nut allergy who can miraculously eat Nutella!)

Um, we've seen the label, I don't think anyone is promoting this as a healthy snack (in fact we've laughed at the claims). Just discussing what a yummy treat it is.
It's really no better or worse than many other snacks. I eat it ALL the time. I just need to remember to eat it in "semi" reasonable quantities - like no more than half the jar at a time.
The best thing I ever made with Nutella is from Giada De Laurentiis. You take you heat up some oil, take wonton wrappers and fill with Nutella and then fold them over to make a triangle (use egg wash to seal them) and then fry until golden brown and then dust with powedered sugar. I make these, eat a few and then put the rest in plastic bags and put in the fridge. Then when I want some more I just heat them in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds.
I can't even begin to explain how good they are.
I gained 10 pounds over the summer and Nutella was a major factor. It's just too good. Now I'm low-carbing it, so no more Nutella - for a while.
I've made the recipe from Giada with the wonton wrappers. She loves Nutella, too. Have you seen the dessert she talks about on the show "The Best Food I Ever Ate"?
I don't remember if there's actually Nutella in it, or a home-made chocolate hazelnut spread, but the effect is the same - amazing.

I have my flame suit on, but "what is Nutella"?
