Nut allergy

I finally was able to get my sister and her family to book a Disney vacation! They actually leave tomorrow morning for Florida. They are on the quick service dining plan. My sister's son has a severe food allergy to all tree nuts. Their travel agent told them all they do is ask the person behind the counter for the nut free items. With his allergy being life-threatening this makes me nervous. They are going to Magic Kingdom for a couple days. In your experience what restaurants at Magic Kingdom have the best net free selections with no cross-contamination. Thanks for any and all suggestions

All restaurants /quick service locations accommodated my daughters nut allergy. Disney, by far, handles allergies better than any other place we have ever been.

We always just let the server know right away and the chef would come out and let us know what was safe or what wasn't. At quick service locations, a manager does the same.

Your sister will be able to have a stress free vacation at Disney knowing her son is safe

And to answer your question... The Plaza in MK really stood out to me. They have a binder that has photos of food labels from every single menu items' ingredients! Also, the cupcakes at Be Our Guest are nut free (eta: they were nut free during our last visit, 6 months ago, always double check )

but they can run into tree nuts anywhere in the parks as guests are allowed to bring food in with them and eat anywhere. the CS have a notebook that they can find out what is safe for the child

Our DD has a tree nut allergy and when she was young it was the one place she always felt good about ordering food. At CS locations you can ask anyone and they have the book and at TS locations when you tell the waiter, they actually bring a chef to your table and they'll walk you through what is ok to order on the menu. In rare cases where they don't have many safe offerings (e.g. desserts) they'll create one special or provide a safe packaged one. Like others said, they are really on top of this there.

Our DS has a peanut allergy. In our many visits to WDW we have never had a problem. The key as mentioned above is to tell them before you order. If you get an ADR at a TS be sure to put it on your ADR form. At QS tell them as you order. The chefs or managers are awesome. They don't make a big deal about it so it never embarrassed our DS. They calmly either walk you around or explain what's available. Disney does a FANTASTIC job with allergies.

Our kiddo has several allergies (me too to mustard) so severe I walk around with EPI pens so I totally understand where you're coming from. With it being such a serious allergy, I strongly suggest they upgrade to deluxe (as was first recommended to us by a CM on our first trip & now we do this every time). At all the table service restaurants there is a separate kitchen with a dedicated allergy chef as well as dedicated equipment so there is no cross contamination. They have always made my daughter whatever she wants down to cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and chicken at 'Ohana dinner and a pizza at Teppan. Really, it's been amazing. It was like a vacation from allergy worries. Added bonus to no waiting for characters and some really incredible food.

Now can we find things for her at QS? Probably, but she's kinda picky as many kids are, and I for certain have had a very hard time finding food I could (or would) eat. Our choices QS were very limited when I considered cross contamination and to me? Just not worth the risk.

Also wanted to add, if they're flying, please inform the airline before they go of a severe nut allergy and remind the flight crew when you board. My friend's kid ran into a massive problem on a flight to WDW a couple of months ago with nuts being mistakenly served on the plane and terrible passengers not giving them back after the allergy was reported.
