Have a relationship that Im pretty sure is ending. I have been pondering moving back to Florida for some time...and it would be me and my 15 year old. Anyone know how hard it would be to transfer your nursing license, etc? We need a fresh start and want go move back to my home state. Just scared to take the plunge! Thoughts? Ideas?

YO!!

Darcy!

Sounds like a perfect question for you.

Look up Florida state board of nursing online for a phone number. I'm sure they would be happy to answer your questions. Depends on the states, but I have heard it usually isn't a big deal. Good luck. Keep us updated, I've often wondered that myself.

Just found this online:

Florida State Board Of Nursing
4080 Woodcock Drive, Suite #202
Jacksonville, FL 32207
Phone: 850-245-4125

Have you ever thought about accepting a traveling nurse position in Florida? Might be worth looking into. They make pretty good money and it might be a way to get your foot in the door.

TY! Im thinking we need a new start and I was born in Florida and miss it terribly.

Sorry about the relationship. Florida is in the 2 yr plan for us too. From what I understand it is not hard to get your license in Florida. You can check with the FL state board of nursing to find out what you need to do to get your license. I had a friend move from CT to FL and her license transfered. Also with the population being older you will always be able to find a job. Good luck!

i've done the switch from california to florida. it was no big deal. it's basically a money thing. i had to pay california to send the information and pay florida to get the information. your florida info will be under the board of nursing at myflorida.com

allnurses.net has quite a lot of good infor on this sort of thing. I hear that jobs are tight in Fl at the moment though.I hope if you need anything form your BON that they are more helpfull than they were with me, they are holding my NCLEX application and money hostage!!!
