Nursing Home - When to Know "It's Time"

Have you considered a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly? They usually are limited to 6 residents, each resident has their own bedroom and bathroom. They are located in residential areas with 24 hour care.

There are few long term beds available, unless you have the means to pay out of pocket, or have insurance for long term care. Many seniors, who have been in SNF for years, no longer qualify, as of last year. Basically, if the individual can raise a spoon to their mouth or can tranfer without assistance, they won't meet the requirements.

OP just want to also mention that you want to find out why she is falling. Either a new medical concern, like mentioned up-post, or possibly a new medication problem, either interaction between medications or a new medication that has this type of side effect? I know both my grandfather and my father had medication problems that made them fall. Did she have mobility issues before the falls?
