Quick question---other than the CL DVC rooms at AKL is there another way to book CL w/DVC points? I keep debating buying but I like CL too much. Unfortunely come next June, we will be a family of 5 not 4+1 per disney, so will be limited in room choices.

I guess I am not understanding the question....
But you can pay CASH and get a CL room, or you can use DVC (points) and get CL.

Its much harder to do on points though right? My understanding is there are very few DVC CL rooms that book at the 11 month mark. For our dates they were sold out in less than a day when the window opened vs. there still being plenty for cash reservations..?

That's cause I wasn't clear . Right now I can pay cash and get a regular room w CL privileges. If we buy into DVC, I can (hope/pray, etc) book at exactly 11 months and get a standard or value studio w CL privileges. Once DS turns 3 we will no longer be 4+1 for room size. So we will need at least a 1bedroom. And to book that w/DVC is nigh impossible, right? Or is there another way to get my CL fix, my AKL fix, and not sell a child?

I think I understand your question. "The Disney Collection" allows members to book WDW Resorts using DVC points (and a $95 transaction fee). BEFORE AKL had DVC, you could indeed book a room at AKL using points. In fact, when we first bought DVC, that was our first stay -- AKL-CL! And we were on the 5th floor because those rooms were Deluxe and the DVC construction hadn't started yet.

That is no longer the case since AKL now has DVC. So in my long-winded way of saying this: the only way to use DVC points to book Club Level at AKL/AKV is to book those coveted 6th floor rooms through DVC!

WDW Resorts which you can book using points (and $95) are: CBR, CSR, FW Resort & Campground, GF (although that too will change when the DVC construction is done there), Poly, POR/POFQ, and Yacht Club.

Here's my dilemma. My MIL wants to come w/us next June for baby boys bday. Which is fine. But I REFUSE to stay off site in the summer. I hate offsite as it is. And I really like CL.

That sums it up for me thanks!! Hmmmm Poly? Not sure I can do that. Although we could fit in one room.....

Late January - more popular than I had thought I guess? Its marked as 'Value Season 1' so I thought it would be relatively easy.

The DVC rooms on Giraffe Trail are all "Value" villas so if you have a standard studio booked you don't want to request Giraffe. (sorry for the confusion of DVC vs non-DVC!)

We've stayed in 5004 (1-bedroom), 5006 (studio), 5016 (studio), and 5030 (1-bedroom) - all are Values.

Checking my list, the only DVC "standard view studio" we have stayed in at Jambo was #5406. It was a lobby room (directly at one end of the suspension bridge!) with a nice pool view. Loved the location!

I wish I had more information for you on "standard view studios" and where they're located. I think I need to do more research!

I'm sure someone else who frequents this board can provide more information for us!

Laura thanks again for your help. Anyone else???? What I'm looking for are suggestions for rooms Jambo studio standard view with a view of the pool. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Just in case you're confused: the original AKL building IS Jambo! The resort rooms are there, plus some DVC villas (including the only DVC Club Level on Disney property!).

Kidani is all DVC villas, no regular resort rooms.
