OK, in preperation for my next Disney trip, I have:

1) purchased the Birbaum's Disney Guidebook, Unofficial Disney Guidebook and Passporter Guidebook
2) purchased and watched the "Where Magic Lives" Disney World DVD
3) requested and watched all three versions of Disney World's vacation planner videos
4) watched and taped (and watched again several times) the Travel Channel's Disney shows, including: Great Hotels (WL, AK, GF, BC) and all of their other DW shows
5) watched the food network's special on Disney World restaraunts and food
6) frequently check www.disboards.com and www.wdwmagic.com for current information
7) gone to Barnes and Noble and browsed through their Disney Travel books
8) browsed through old Disney World pictures
9) not stopped thinking about the next trip, and its not until late September!

Am I an addict? If so, where can I get help... or better yet, does anyone have suggestions for my next "fix"? Calling all DW addicts! I need to join a support group!

Help! :p :jester:

Tell me about it. It is now 2:36 in the morning. We are supposed to get up at 3:00 to go to the airport for our trip. I have slept for a grand total of 1 1/2 hours. I am way to hyped. I have been on this web site every day for the past year planning. My husband and children think I'm nuts. (They are all sleeping). Let me know when and where for the support groupl Oh well I'm almost there!

Well, you didn't say that you TAPED Disney Unwrapped. It will be airing again on the food network tomorrow night at 9pm (mon, 6/16). I have done all that you mentioned also. Next trip isn't until Nov! OH, well. We are approaching our 120 day out mark .. almost PS time!

okay now you have me wondering what is "whre the magic lives?" Please tell me there is not a video out there about WDW that I don't have!
You didn't say anything about the AK show on the travel channel or the MK one! You could watch them.
What about home movies of past trips. We watch ours every Sat. & Sun.
When I think I have watched all of this stuff until I can't wacth any more I pull out our guide maps from the parks. I take mental tours of the park and then I make several hundred daily itineraries of each park. You know I start form the gate and say I'll go to the first ride wait 20 min. then to the next one wait 30 min. and so on. It's fun and keeps me going. Ironic thing is we NEVER plan our daily events when were there. We never know what park were going to that morning until we get there.

Hope this helps. It's great fun.
And I hope it helps knowing your not the only WDW addict out there. We should have meetings!!!!

milmore104,

"Where Magic Lives" is a Disney World DVD that I bought from www.mainstreetmegastore.com. I've also heard you can purchase this at some of the WDW stores in the theme parks.

I learned about this DVD from Disboards, so we ordered it to quench our DW addiction for awhile. It is a DVD that showcases each Disney Theme Park and has a brief history of Walt Disney and his dreams in making the parks. The DVD goes into pretty good detail about alot of the attractions at WDW (more so than the planning videos). However, it doesn't go into DTD or any of the resorts.

I paid (i think) about $35 and I would say its worth it for other addicts like me. Mainstreetmegastore has alot of cool stuff on there, so you should check it out!

Their prices are quite high - some of them twice as high as at the Disney Store. I would definitely find out how much it is to order these items from WDW Merchandise directly - that might save you some money.

And the problem is? (GBG)

How about some Disney Music! We listen to Parade Music almost daily in the car.

How about the Disney passporter book for planning?

Have you bought cutsey matching t-shirts for the whole family for the trip?

I like reading trip reports - it's addicting.

Enjoy!

I listen to my Disney CD's at work! I have the whole office singing Hakuna Matata!

A Disney addiction is a hard one to beat. Our solution was to move to Orlando a year ago so we can go at least once a week. While I admit that is a little drastic we have no regrets and still find the magic there on every trip.

We are addicted also. We are buying a condo so we can come more often. Of course we are hoping to rent it most of the time. Wife works at disney store here. (She calls it playing). I just hope Disney keeps the magic.

I am pretty addditcted too. I check the DIS everyday. We went in March and I am already planning a trip for the first week in Jan. I live listening to my Disney music. When I listen to the music for FIS I can see the firworks going off.

I am glad to know there are others out there with the same addiction. I consider the DIS my support group:)

DrKnow77,
You forgot to invite us all along so we can help you overcome your addiction. Ok, so it would be more like feeding the addiction in all of us.
I have already been to D'land Paris & WDW this year and we still have D'land and WDW planned for this summer. Woohoo, 3 parks in 1 year. Last year it was WDW 4 times and a cruise.
Disney music is played in the car all the time and I have 7 or 8 Disney screen savers loaded on the computer. This does not even go into all the Disney clothes, art and everything else Disney I look at in the house.
To say that we are addicted is a vast understatement.
Have a great trip and know that all your planning and 'living' on the boards has paid off.

Phew!!! I am glad I am not alone! I have an intinerary on our computer that I go over and update everyday. My DH thinks I am absolutely nuts!

Ah, yes - the addiction.....my sister-in-law calls it the "Disney Tractor Beam." Hah!...

There's just no place like it, and it is so enormous, there's just so much to know and think about.....and think about, and think about....
