Now want to decline OKW extension - can we?

We received a phone call last week from our Vacation Club guide. She told my husband that Disney had withdrawn the option to pay for the OKW extension over the next few months and we now had to pay it all straight away.

We've talked about this and we can't pay it and conseuqently we want to decline the extension. We have already paid a deposit (10% I think).

Has anyone else declined the extension after initially accepting it? Any idea how we go about this or whether we'll lose our deposit? We haven't received any paperwork yet and will be in WDW early June so would prefer to tie up all loose ends before we go or while we are out there.

I would think since Disney changed what they originally agreed to, you should have no problem getting a full refund of you deposit, and I would expect intrest on the money as well. They are the ones that modified the original deal.
