It was a REALLY great day and the GG was a perfect way to wrap it up.

The Grand Gathering sounds so cool. I can't believe that you actually got to see the cheetahs and the lion up and about. Every time I've ever seen them, they were lying down on the job.

I can't say that I blame you for talking yourself out of going to the Magic Kingdom that night. I bet it was a bit eery feeling standing outside and there being no buses or anybody else around. Creepy! At least you were rescued by a kind bus driver.

The picture of the girls in the bed together is so sweet!

Your Grand Gathering looks awesome! That's neat that they put so much more detail into your special safarai and the dinner sounds awesome. What a nice thing for the driver to do...you've gotta luv people like that. Your group picture turned out really great and must be an awesome memento from the trip!

The GG safari looks lik it was such a wonderful event...glad to hear you were able to find a quick ride home--I can see how that can be an eerie feeling.
Sounds like a wonderful way to end the day! with great friends a great personal magical experience and a good dinner always a great clencher!

BTW: great picture of the cheetahs (never seen them on safari) and the lion shots --Awesome (we usually just get to see the tops of their bodies laying in the sun).

After the interactions it was time to gather our things and head to the buses. The park had been closed for hours so special transportation was arranged just for the GG families. Before leaving, we took this pic of the group...we're good lookin' aren't we?

So glad y'all had a great time at the GG! What a good looking group of people!

Leanne, that was a great update!! I have never seen the lion up and about on the safari...great shots!

Your GG looks like so much fun. I love the shot of the girls sleeping. It is so cute how kids stay awake for all the excitement and then as soon as there head hits the pillow they are asleep.

We did our Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise that night and we seriously considered doing EMH afterwards at MK. We started walking from CR to MK with the full intention of going, but by the time we got to the bus stops, we had changed our mind and we just went back to AKL.

We were heading to MK in the morning and we had done a bit before the cruise, so we weren't too heartbroken about missing EMH.

Great update, by the way. The whole GG thing is awesome! I would love to do that sometime!

Oh, I'd love to hear about the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise. We are considering as an option for one of the girls' birthdays. I can't believe we were doing so many of the same things and didn't run into each other.

I have been such a space cadet lately. Usually I'm on top of stuff but for the last couple of months, I have been missing so much of the obvious.

I had a filling done and Dr. thought I was numb all the way and hit a nerve. I've never seen my body catapult from a chair uncontrollably before....that was interesting. We have two softball games (both girls playing at the same time) and Lindsey has a double hitter tomorrow. So it's a softball weekend for my family.

I'm excited that your trip is coming up so soon. You only have like two weeks right!!! Congrats girl!!!

Yes ma'am, the girls had on some articulated giraffe print shirts and shorts from Gymboree. Lindsey doesn't mind dressing like her sister just yet, so I am exploiting it every opportunity I can.

The GG sounds great! How did you arrange it?

The GG was fantastic! When you call Disney, you know how they always ask if you have 8 or more in your party? Well say yes there and it will get you to the Grand Gathering planners. You have to have at least 8 in your party. I just linked all of my friends and their families together (it doesn't affect your original resort ressies at all).

There are several neat events you can take part in. They all sound like a lot of fun to me.

It was a lot of fun Lisa. I was so amazed to see the cheetahs. I have seen the lion up but now walking around scratching and marking his territory. It was really cool.

I'm glad we decided to go back to the room, I think the morning would have been REALLY bad if we hadn't.

I got a little freaked out with everything was pitch black and there wasn't a soul to be found. It was definitely weird to see AK that way.

The girls are really sweet..................when they're sleeping.

Thanks so much! It was a blast! We would most definitely do it again. The driver was such a blessing that night. We could have been out there a lot longer but he took the time to take care of us.

I love the group pic. I might have a little something up my sleeve on that.

Thanks for the kind words Connie! The girls were having so much fun dancing together. I have a great video of it, but I didn't want to post it without getting permission from Mary since her girls were in it. It's really cute!

I can't believe how active the animals were. I will definitely try to make it a point to take a late safari ride on this next trip.
