Now that we've seen it - thoughts on "Push, Nevada?"

Okay. I watched it. DH watched the first five minutes and refused to watch the rest. I had to move to the bedroom to see it.

Definitely reminded me of "Twin Peaks," both visually and in the quirkiness factor. I think I'll have to see another episode before I decide if I'm hooked.

I can see how it could become addictive though - especially with the potential payoff in the contest portion of it.

One thing I did notice was the web address at the bottom of the Push Times newspaper microfiche that Jim was looking at in the library. I checked it out this morning and, sure enough - it's a "real website:" www.pushtimes.com

IMHO, Ben Affleck is a better writer/producer than he is an actor.

Your thoughts?

P.S. If you missed it, ABC is apparently RE-RUNNING this first episode at 8:00 on Thursday and then running a NEW EPISODE at 9:00 (its regular timeslot).

It SCREAMED "Ben Affleck Is A Twin Peaks Fan". I think I liked it (probably because of that...so many things were similar to TP). I was going to add up all the numbers/clues, but just gave up.

I'm sorry.....I only made it through the first 15 minutes. Just not my cup of tea....but I'm not a Twin Peaks fan either.
I went back to Charmed ;)

Oooh. Not a good sign for ABC (i.e. Disney) if only 2 or 3 people on these boards watched the show!

After posting this, I saw that there was another Push, Nevada thread that started yesterday, but please feel free to CHIME IN WITH YOUR OPINIONS here after watching the show last night!

I didn't watch the show, I didn't make it home in time. But I will catch it on Thursday. :)

I watched. I never watched Twin Peaks, but I really liked this show. DH had me tape it for him, but I had some trouble with the VCR, so he missed the first 5 minutes. I'm glad to hear they will rerun it on Thursday. He'll catch it then. I'm really looking forward to the next episode - I hope it doesn't disappoint.

My take on it is that it is one of those "weird" shows that takes a really charismatic lead to keep interest. I did NOT find the lead character to be that interesting. I may look at one more episode, but don't think at this time that I will be a fan. I also was not impressed with the other 2 ABC shows that debuted last night. And what about the funny looking red haired kid on Bonnie? I have always been told that producers attempt to match the children to the parents in a believable way. There is no way that funny looking kid would come from those two good looking parents.

I Liked it, but I liked Twin Peaks too!;) I also liked the John Ritter show, but Bonnie's show was OK. Nothing to write home about. I taped the first Push and will tape the second one on Thursday. As long as its not on the same time as "Survivor" it will have a chance.:o

Hmmm...

This time I looked at the www.pushtimes.com site, I had a pop-up that led me to the www.enochonline.com site. VERY bizarre. This allows you to join a Yahoo! discussion group. There are a lot of members out there who saw and figured out a whole lot more than me last night. I guess I was just watching the storyline, not really looking for "clues."

This could get intense if you got wrapped up in it.

I hadn't even heard about it but if it is Twin Peaksy DH would love it. We have the all of the Twin Peaks episodes on tape, the movie, and soundtracks. He is a huge Twin Peaks fan, I'll tell him about this.

I watched after Zurgswife started dancing around yelling I go the first clue. Very Twin peaks. Very cool I will watch. WOW ABC has two shows I like NYPD Blue and this.

I watched and liked Twin Peaks and I enjoyed the show last night...especially figuring out the clue....:D
