to my mother's and leave it in the wooded area at the back of her yard. It's a haven for birds and small critters all winter, then we burn it when we burn the final leaves of the year. Hey, burning is legal here and its the only way to get rid of the last 2 million oak leaves that finally fall at the end of March. Or we buy a live tree and put it up a couple days before Christmas and down the day after Christmas, leave it outside (watered occasionally) and plant it at Mom's in the aforementioned wooded area. I'm allergic to most evergreens (and therefore to gin) but only if I touch it. It's not Christmas to me if the tree isn't real - the fallen needles and itchy rash be darned.

However you celebrate whatever holiday you celebrate, enjoy!
