I had to book vacation at this time right before Thanksgiving due to family with grandkids coming with and had to be off tg week. I would not usually book right next to Thanksgiving if not for that. Now I'm wondering:confused3 if it will be really crowded during that time. We leave the day before tG. I thought it would be crowded TG and the weekend/week after TG. I hope we did not make a mistake coming this time of year. I also like 2 weeks before Christmas the best for the weather, low crowds, etc. Thanks for your help:)

Tuesday the 18th through Friday the 21st should be very low crowds. The crowds will start growing on Saturday the 22nd, topping out around Tuesday the 25th. Maximum crowds from then until you leave on the 26th.

Overall, you should be able to have a great time. The first half of your trip should be very slow, with the second half getting busier each day. Just plan on doing a lot during that first half of the trip- you can concentrate on just enjoying the decorations and atmosphere when the attractions become more crowded. Commando at the beginning of the trip, slowing down as the parks get more crowded.

Have a great time! :wizard:

We went that same time last year (and are going again this year!) and it was nice and calm until the day before Thanksgiving.

I remember walking into Magic Kingdom on that Wednesday and was shocked at how many people were there.

But, we had such a great time (we are use to Summer crowds) I couln't wait to plan this years trip.

We were there Thanksgiving week last year. I would agree that the crowds were fine until about Tuesday then it was more crowded than anything we had experienced before (including July) the rest of the week. We were also stuck in the FP+ testing and didn't have access to FP+ yet and legacy FP was all but gone so it was a pretty miserable trip as far as crowd management goes. The other thing I would say is pack for all weather---It was 80 early in the week and 30 as we headed to AK Thanksgiving morning! BRRR!

I am going the week before Thanksgiving. They say it is a pretty slow time:thumbsup2

Same here. We'll be there from the 16th to the 22nd. We'll be leaving just as the crowds start to get crazy! :cool1:

You should be fine leading up to TG.
We were there in 2012 & it was great up to the week of TG & then the crowds arrived.
Heading over from the UK this year arriving on the 8th & leaving on the 22nd so fingers crossed for a quiet two weeks. :)

This. We always go the week before Thanksgiving, leaving the Saturday before Thanksgiving when crowds start to ramp up as people arrive. Plan to get the main stuff done 11/18-11/22, so you can go with the flow as crowd levels rise after that.

:goodvibes yes, thanks everyone, for the good advice. We will get in most of our must do rides, attractions, before the 22nd. I guess we will just have to be prepared and accept we might not get to do what we want on the crowded days. It will all be good:love: It's Disney, right?????

We were there Nov 17-23 last year and we were able to walk right onto all rides except one & that one we only waited about 15 mins. It was great. The weather was good as well.
