Now I understand the complaining about FP+

It's an infuriating system. Another example is that if you want to change, say, Splash Mountain 11am reservation to a Parade or Wishes, they won't come up as an option because they are not on at 11am!

Yes this is frustrating.

I'm usually the very last to defend Disney unlike so many others on this site who will defend Disney to the bitter end and think Disney can do no wrong

1 - this is still in testing
2 - they are still supporting the old system and don't want to give out too many FP+
3 - many people are double dipping
4 - there are going to be bumps in the road during the test
5 - it's going to get better - for example they know the one park per day is an issue
6 - the website is not perfect yet - it's still in testing

Overall - I like this in theory - but I have to say booking the rids a month in advance seems ridiculous - but at the end of the day I've already got several FPs to Soarin and TSM - that does make things a hell of a lot easier in the end

I suspect that six months from now this will be a much better system and we will all be wondering what all the hullabaloo was about

This line of thinking works well if the same number of people using fastpass use Fastpass+. But Disney clearly wants as many people as possible using the new system. As the percentage of people using magicbands/fastpass+ increases to new levels, the game changes considerably.

I really hope that people who are having these experiences take the time to send an e-mail message to WDW explaining what frustration you are having and how the system can be improved.

This system is still in its embryonic stages and I am sure Disney will take user input into account.

I sent a very long detailed email to guest communication about all of our issues. I got back a generic response how this was a test, etc. In my email to them I stated that I understood it was a test but my issue was the lack of communication. Our FP+ got deleted with no notice. I understand that there is issues to be worked out but a less informed guest would probably have gone to the attraction thinking they had FP+. I was very disappointed in Disney's attitude.

:thumbsup2 Good for you for taking the time to document your dissatisfaction.

Just because you got a generic response doesn't mean that nobody is gathering up these comments and sharing them with people who are in a position to make changes.

Look at it this way. Sending something directly to the company has a better chance of accomplishing something than complaining on a message board.

I do wish they would just let you select FastPasses individually based on what times are available. It would be nice to get a couple of them for the morning and one later at night if you wanted to. I hope they also add a Park Hopping option where you can get them for multiple parks in one day. :)

Trying to navigate the system is probably been one of the most frustrating uses of technology that I have ever experienced :faint:

We were able to use magic bands for our Oct. 6-13 trip. Although there are some really nice features the fact that everything was working very well before I left home only to crash when I got there left me feeling like this :scared1:

I understand your frustration with needing to change one FP+ and leave the other two intact. Here is another issue: since we have APs and have magic bands linked to our account I am able to make daily fastpass selections even though I don't have an active reservation (we are not there right now). Just to test the system I booked FP+ reservations for Sunday, Oct 20th. I just wanted to see if it would complete the transaction since we will be back in December and I am trying to decide when that window would open for me to book during Christmas week. Well I have no intentions of using those 3 FP+ selections but I CAN NOT DELETE THEM! I can change them but there is not an option to delete them. I have at least changed them to three less popular attractions so I am not tying up FP for headliners. I have emailed IT but I am not getting on the phone for 30-45 minutes for them to try to delete fastpass reservations. When we were at the resort they couldn't figure out how to delete them and we had reservations at MK and EP on the same day, SMH!

I don't think FP+ is the real problem. What FP+ does is make painfully obvious the lack of attractions people want to ride -- especially at DHS and Epcot. The lack of attractions families can do together makes the Toy Story problem HUGE. I think this is less of problem at Magic Kingdom because of the variety of FP attractions that people want to ride.

We are looking forward to FP+ in that we booked our attractions as soon as possible. Hopefully it doesn't rain during Fantasmic! or some unknown problem prevents us from using the FP+ on the attractions we have selected because I doubt we'll be able to find suitable replacements at the last minute.

Yes, you can cancel them without replacing them with new ones. Just:

1. Go to "my reservations."

2. By the FP+ reservations that you want to cancel, click on "update"

That takes you to a screen with 4 options "Select or Replace", "Change", "Copy" and "Cancel".

Just click on the "Select" button next to "Cancel- Cancel existing FastPass+ selections" and go from there.

On "my reservations" the only thing that shows up are my resort reservations and my dining reservations. The only way to view my FP selections is to choose "my itinerary" then I have to scroll to the Oct. 20th date and I can see the FP selections but there isn't an option to cancel them. But the option to change one at a time is back and that wasn't there yesterday....seriously the screen changes daily, sometimes hourly.

IT Dept (407) 939-3471

So, I decided to call just in case something has changed and guess what? No luck. They said that my tickets are too old. I was told I had to go to Will Call when I get there to convert my tickets.

I asked to speak with someone higher up. I truly do not understand how they can read how many days are left on my ticket but cannot convert my tickets. I'm frustrated as a loyal Disney customer. I've been on multiple Disney cruises, I go to WDW or DL every year. I've bought numerous annual passes. Heck, I've even been to Aulani in Hawaii.

I'm frustrated as I feel it isn't fair and I explained. I wouldn't have a problem with my tickets not being convertible if those that were using FP+ could not double dip. I can see if they had problems with using the magic bands and their tickets got missed up but not if it works. I don't feel like they should double dip. I think, Disney has made this totally unfair.

The reps solution was for me to buy another 10 day no expiring pass and reserve my FP+ tickets and then, when I get to Disney convert them to my old passes. All I can imagining is that it doesn't transfer right and I lose all my reservations. I really don't have $2k to burn right now for new tickets.

Off to see what else there is to do in Orlando. I already planned at day at Universal. I will send out an official e-mail to Disney expressing my displeasure.

I am here now. Check in at POR a mess. System was down and they couldn't check anyone in. They said it had been down for hours. We got lucky and it our MB worked to enter our room. They couldn't cut us KTTW cards at all.

We had to activate our AP in order to get FP+. We were actually able to get FP+ as soon as we checked in so I am not sure it had anything to do with our tickets at all. So far no FP+ available in the morning for the headliners for most of this week. Will try again later on the website instead of my phone.

. Bummer... So were there any FP+ available at different times besides the morning?

Leaving in a few days for our next trip - and I'm trying to change our FP+ selections. But some days - I want to change ONE experience to something else at a different time. So - I want to change experience and time at the same time. BUT YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!! How dumb is that? And if I try to get totally new experiences - well - there ARE NO FP+ for Toy Story at all that day right now.... REALLY? ARGH!!! Now I get the complaining. I don't want to give up one thing without knowing in advance that what I want is available. ARGH!!!:furious:

The App version is more user friendly....
It let's you know that you wont be giving up anything that you currently have saved until you choose/accept your new choice.
Yes, you can change just one & leave the other two on there.
It is very user friendly on the app, I prefer that to the online version.

Can I pre-schedule my time to visit Guest Services so I can bypass the standby line of others waiting to complain? :rotfl2:

As a public service, the building that will house the complaint department that will handle the complaints about the difficulties in getting FP+ complaints heard is being built at DHS.

They are doing that... instead of building a second version of Toy Story Mania.

(As a public service, I'm here to tell you that the above is not true, but is merely a joke... based on rumors, based on jokes about rumors.)

On my last visit to DLR, I had my DBF wear his FitBit, just to see exactly what kind of mileage we were talking. We walked 14 miles that day, and clocked in everything we ate and came up with an additional 2,000 available calories because of how much we walked. Which truly meant the calories didn't count at Disneyland. I can only imagine it at WDW. :rotfl:

I have one of those Striiv pedometers and am planning to take it to WDW out of curiosity. It gives you little trophies for meeting challenges. I'm sure I'll get lots of trophies, lol.

~The old dated legacy FP is way better than having the opportunity to reserve a fast pass for the most popular attraction in all of WDW -- from the comfort of your home or anywhere, thus eliminating the traditional running of the bulls at DHS at rope drop and the bonus is, you don't get to choose what time to return, it could be 2 hours or 6 hours later, and that's awesome!

~Also, if you want change your "return" time with the legacy fast pass, just go back to the fast pass area and stick the ticket back in the machine - just make sure to remove the cover first. Yeah, this is way better than having my FP in advance and casually strolling right into the FP line.

This! Exactly, pre booking the most important fast passes before we leave, then touring and enjoying at our own pace, knowing we've locked in our must do's is making planning for our upcoming trip an absolute joy!

It's so annoying how you can't just SEE what is available, all at the same time, on one screen, for the three that you want, and then just pick what you want. I can't stand the "Options" "Best Option!" No, just let me see, I will pick the best option. And don't get me started on the "Fastpicks!" lol

You can always pick your three fast passes, then go in individually and change each fast pass time to suit you...that's what we've been doing

Let me be a bit more specific - I did get my ToT and Toy Story FP+ as I wanted - and ORIGINALLY - the third one I wanted (Great Movie Ride) - but now our Great Movie Ride one - well - now we decided to book a lunch ADR - we would miss. So - I wanted to try to add a different FP+ at a different time - thinking we might add the one for Fantasmic or maybe RoR later in the day or ?? . But - I can't say - hey - get rid of this one entirely and show me what else is still available that day in general. I'd have to move it to a different time FIRST, and then try changing the experience. But the time I ideally want to move it to, I can't, because it's not available in that time frame. (The time frame I'd like it to be or switch to something else. That's just stupid. I should be able to say - hey - JUST give me TWO fp+ for this day. Maybe I'll add a third later based on what's left to pick from whenever. And here's more - I KNOW RoR is available at that other time where I would put my third FP - because if I "start over" as if I was going to change everything - one of the options comes up in the time frame I want. But because I can't move the Great movie Ride to that time first - I can't get one for RoR. (and now - starting over - I can't get Toy Story) ARGH!

Another example - we've got a FP+ at Epcot we have no intention of using. Got what we wanted for Test Track and Soarin. The other one is a complete waste for us. But I can't cancel just that one. I could be holding a pair of FP+ for "Epcot Character Spot" at a perfect time for another family who can't them - but I can't cancel just that one.

And the system seems to have some idea that I couldn't possible want three FP+'s that might be back to back or overlap by a couple minutes. Really - I can ride Under the Sea between 3:05-4:05 and make it to ETWB by 4:00-5:00. Really. That's totally doable. But no.... If I move one of those to a different time, I can get the opposite - so I know those times are available independently - but not in combo - it's demanding I take times farther apart. Really? Why? So I can shop in-between? Um.... no - it just makes me MAD and not excited about my trip that they are trying to plan my touring so much.

I really, really, really miss the old FP without enforced return times. That worked great for us. We'd do rope drop, get some fastpasses, chill out for a table service meal, go use our FP's in the late afternoon/evening (almost always later than the return time), watch fireworks, and then head back to the resort.

Sigh. We'll see how the trip goes!

You can totally change the times after you've secured your fast passes. I've been doing it all week long, filling in time gaps, slotting them in between adrs, I seriously don't understand what the problem is, select the fast pass you want to change, and it will show you all available times for that day before and after your current time!
