:( now i need iphone help!!!!!!!!!!!

DS's 3G did that once, we plugged his headphones in and unplugged them a few times, and it started working again. May be worth a try?

For those with iPod Touches who don't know how to actually turn it OFF to save battery life, hold down the button on top for a few seconds until "slide to power off" shows up, then slide to power it off. Same applies to iPhones, but of course you won't received phone calls while its off.

To power it back on, again hold the button on top for a few seconds until an apple appears on the screen. It will take a few moments to fully power on & then you'll get your password screen if you have a password set.

Its a good idea to do this once a day or at least once a week. Just like rebooting your computer.

And I close my apps all day long. Like closing all those extra programs running on your computer, not just minimizing them to the task bar.

I had to do this too when my sound stopped working. I could not for the life of me figure out what the problem was. I googled possible fixes and this was one. Sure enough, fixed the problem.

Hope you get it working soon....it's so frustrating.

There's more do it than hitting the home button to close it? :confused3

Yes, that doesn't actually close them. Double click the home button - the apps you have open will appear in a line on the bottom of the phone. Press and hold one of the app icons until they all start jiggling and get a little red square with a - in it, click the red to close the app.

Thanks! I guess that explains my fast battery drain. I had to close 30 of them. lol

I had no idea you were supposed to do anything after using an app other than hit the home button when you were finished! IS there anything? Or do you have to double click to close them?

OP, good luck! My old iPhone had a big problem once (none of the external buttons worked) so I took it to the Apple store. In 1 minute the tech reconnected some wire that had disconnected inside and it was fixed (for free!:) )

This is exactly why I am a loyal iPhone user - I've had a 3Gs for over two years now (got mine on the day the model was released). They've done this for me twice - in & out of the Apple store in 15 minutes with a new phone in hand.

Both my daughters & my husband have other types of phones. 2 out of the 3 of them have had issues IN the warranty period and they were given NO help.

yikes for your daughter and husband, sorry!!
the thing that i am afraid of is what happens when my 1 year warranty is up?
god for bid something else happens....
can I extend my warranty? I never thought to ask the lady.:confused3

Both of my issues happened after the one year mark. I still walked out of the store with replacements.

Because of this, I will always purchase my phones at the Apple Store instead of from AT&T.

It wouldn't have mattered. Apple takes care of their products, regardless of where you bought them.

Same thing happened with DH's phone. After he had his iPhone for a few months, it started to take forever to charge, wouldn't hold a charge and would just reset itself constantly. He bought it at AT&T but they sent him to the Apple Store and they replaced the phone free of charge. :thumbsup2
