I've been busily planning a spur of the moment trip for my DD9 and I. First, it was going to just be 3 nights (I first thought about this trip less than 2 wks ago). Then, I decided to stretch it to 4. But, since we're going over Easter, I couldn't get the 4th night in the same resort (CSR), so I had to book the ONE and ONLY room Disney had that night - a $486/nt room at BC.
For the last week, I tried not to think about the price ofthe BC room...and the fact that I'd be arriving in the evening and not getting use of it...and checking out in the morning to move to CSR.
I persisted with checking the website and calling to find a more reasonable replacement - hoping it would be CSR for that night, too.
Well, at 1am today (YES, 1AM!!), a CSR room opened up for that night and my original 3!! I had to grab it online and rebook everything since the new CSR room is a king and my other CSR room was a 2 double.
Then, to top off my day, I used the savings (roughly $250) to book 1 additional night....the only thing available (and reasonable) is POR (for only $208/nt...so I'm still in the black on this deal). I'll keep checking (again) for that night to open up at CSR. I was able to change my air itinerary to arrive the day earlier (and the airfare was $2 less per ticket at this late date!!!)
So, now we've got ourselves a 5 night stay!!!
Disney is like a slot machine. Everytime I win something, I put it right back in!
Man, do I feeel MUCH better than i did when I thought I would be spending $500/nt for a room I would hardly use. I'd love to stay at the BC...when they are offering discounts!
Moral.....be PERSISTENT! (and check the website in the middle of the night)
