Now a Trip Report!!! Will We Stay or Will We Go? A Thanksgiving Pre-Trip/Trip Report

What a great idea to decorate the pumpkins with foam stickers! They will last longer that way, too! We already had to throw our pumpkins out last night, and we had just carved them Saturday.

Hurray for winning the drawing -- what a pretty centerpiece!

Check out is undetermined at the moment! I really need to talk to Clay about staying until the MK closes on the 26th. If we do that, I don't know how late we'll sleep. On the other hand, I'd like to be at RD for the WS so we can see as many (or possibly all) of the Storytellers as we can. I can PM you my cell phone number if you like and we can confirm plans once I know for certain what we're going to do the night of the 26th.
Now we are unsure if we are going since Emily hurt her foot and can't walk. She's getting x-rays on Friday. PM me your number and we can talk as it gets closer.:goodvibes The only that won't work for me is the 26th since we'll be in Sea World all day.:goodvibes

I was noticing that when reading you recent updates! We need to figure out where/when to meet. :goodvibes

:hyper:Looks like you are organized. :thumbsup2

I like the stickers on the pumpkins!

Time will fly by. I am getting excited for you.:hyper::bitelip:

I'm getting there! I'll finish getting Alison's stuff packed next week and start pulling some things for Hannah.

I don't know if I'll ever carve a pumpkin again because the stickers were so much easier!

Time is really moving fast now. I have a huge pile of stuff to pack in the walk-in closet in my bedroom and transfer paper on the kitchen table and print-outs and binders there too. I got a bit behind trying to do one thing for the trip, but got it done today.

I've secured lunch at Akershus. I can't describe the relief. Time to get on with it for real. It will be time to go before we know it.

Hooray! It's November!!!!

I can't believe that 2 weeks from today we'll be taking care of last minute things while the girls are at school!   Good luck with your packing!

I have to say that the stickers was one of my better ideas!  The pumpkins are still out on the front porch. I'll need to make sure to toss those things before we leave.

I can't wait to use the centerpiece!

Read and responded to your update about Emily's foot. Sending you a PM with my cell number.

Hannah picked out the tote bag and design she wanted the other night. I was surprised she picked the color she did since there was a pink one. Usually it's pink for Hannah and purple for Alison. Wonder if Alison will throw me a curve too? LOL Here's a picture of Hannah's tote bag:

This was super easy. I used a peel and stick type transfer. The front feels like cloth when it still has the backing but feels more like a transfer once you peel the backing off. The only thing I'm concerned about is just how well it will stay on the bag. I can peel back a corner and peel it off. I'm thinking about getting some fabric glue (I'm assuming there is such a thing! ) to make sure it stays on. Here's what I used:

Last night was Pirate Night at Hannah's school. It was an activity to get parents involved in reading with their children. The teachers were dressed as pirates and doing their best to talk like a pirate. The kids got a kick out of seeing their teachers dressed up and going on the treasure hunt. We started out in a classroom then went to the gym to find the next clue. From the gym we went to the library for the final clue. Afterwards it was to the cafeteria for a snack. The kids were a bit loud in the hallway on the way to the cafeteria and I told one of the teachers that I bet the best part for the kids was they were finally able to be loud in the hallway without getting in trouble.  When we were in the gym, they handed out a book called "The Trumpet of the Swan" by E.B. White. The kids had to read the first 2-3 pages and halfway through reading, the parent was to ask a question about what their child had just read. The books were taken up at the end but now I'm dying to read more! LOL From what I understand, they will be reading the book later in the year.

Sent Alison an e-mail with a list of things she'll need to bring with her this weekend for the trip. Clay talked to her yesterday to make sure she got the e-mail and that she printed the list out. She's got the list printed and told him that the only thing she doesn't have is the t-shirt I made for her as a bathing suit cover up because it's dirty. Her Mom said she'd get it washed before the trip and we could either come by and pick it up or she'd drop it off before the trip. :rolleyes2 I told Clay that she could just bring it anyway and I could wash it. Since I'm the one that gets to pick Alison up tonight I'm the one that gets to present that option. We'll see what the response is to that.

It's going to be a bit crazy when I get off work. Clay gets off work early on Friday and he was going to pick Hannah up at school and get her to the church on time to go on the sleepover with her Scout troop. Well, as my luck always goes, he ended up flying out to Philadelphia yesterday morning to meet with a customer and when done there he had to drive to the outskirts of D.C. to meet with another customer. His return flight isn't until 7:00 tonight. ARRRGGGGGGHHHHH

Fortunately, I get off work at 4:00 on Friday but I still have to pick Hannah up at after school care and then get her to the church....by 5:00. The only way that's going to happen is if I leave about 10 minutes early. Sometimes when it's slow on Friday my boss will let me leave at 3:00 or 3:30. I'm hoping today is one of those days! I've got Hannah's stuff in the van so at least that's one less thing I have to worry about. I had an e-mail from one of the Troop Leaders last night saying they want everyone at the church at 4:45 so they can leave at 5:00. I sent her an e-mail back telling her there's no way I'd be there at 4:45 but I'd be there by 5:00. Haven't seen a response from her yet.

Since Clay won't be home until late it'll just be me and Alison for a while. That's not something that happens too often so I'm looking forward to hanging out with her. We're going to the Disney Store to put money on her gift card, grab a bite to eat and then hit Kohl's to try to find her a few long-sleeve shirts.

I'm going out at lunch today to get the Toy Story 3 DVD and get a car charger for the girls DS's.

I'll be able to do online check in next week!!:banana::banana: It's getting close!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night!

everything is coming together....:goodvibes

we are having Matt's parents over tonight to go over our plans...my sil asked me if I knew if they realized we leave in 2 weeks ;) oh boy I hope they do!

BTW yes there is fabric glue out there...that may be a good idea on the corners.

I will touch base w/ you next week to plan our DISmeet :cool1:

When I was at Target today I got some really cool stuff! Can't wait to show ya'll what I got. I was so excited when I saw it! Even the cashier was impressed with it! LOL

I hope your ILs realize that ya'll leave in 2 weeks!

I thought there was such a thing as fabric clue. Thanks for confirming that I'm not crazy...this time!

Talk to ya next week! :goodvibes

Hi there Jill, you have a great family, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Too bad you're leaving the day before we check in, that happens to us all the time, I think everybody plans it that way.:happytv:

Doing a great job on the report, I look forward to when it's about your trip, and the best part is no Brazillian tour groups and you're out of there before Pop Warner get in.

I went to Target on my lunch hour on Friday to get the Toy Story 3 DVD. I was also going to get a car charger for the girls DS's but somehow I forgot about that! But I got some other cool stuff! LOL Here's my haul from Target:

Dollar bin stuff:

This is actually going to be a Christmas present for the girls. I'll use pictures from our trip to put on it.

For the trip:

Now, for the icing on the cake! Hannah has outgrown the gloves and toboggans she has so I wanted to get her some new ones to take with us just in case. I found a cute pair of gloves and was looking for a toboggan. And then the heavens opened and angels began to sing...there it was...the PERFECT toboggan:

100_1291.jpg

It was at the very bottom of the row and I must have given out a squeal of delight when I found it because as I came back up to a standing position there was an old lady standing there looking at me like I had two heads. See now why I forgot all about the car charger?! LOL

Here's a pic of the gloves and the hat:

100_1290.jpg

They don't really match but I don't care! LOL When I showed Hannah the toboggan she gave a squeal too so the hat is a hit!

Alison picked out her tote bag. She, too, threw me for a loop and picked the pink one. I think they do this stuff on purpose! LOL Here's a picture of Alison's tote bag:

Alison and I had a blast Friday night! We went to the Disney Store and put the last of her money on her gift card, ate dinner at Chili's, hit Kohl's and got some long-sleeve shirts for her and finished up at Wal-Mart.

Here's what we got at Wal-Mart:

Alison's stuff:

I'll be able to do online check-in Tuesday!! It's getting close!!!!! Alison took off a number on the calendar yesterday and when Hannah saw it was 12 days she jumped up and down and came over and gave me a big hug while squealing "12 DAYS!!!!!". I think she's getting excited! LOL

I'm going to leave you with a poem Hannah wrote. It's not about the trip but it's close enough! LOL

11 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Single digits are almost here!!!!

Oh my gosh! It's Nebo!!! :worship: :worship: Thanks for joining in and reading!

There's a few November travelers we're going to miss on this trip. :sad1: Hopefully there will be other trips and other opportunities to meet some day. :goodvibes

I'm soooooo glad we'll miss the Brazillian tour groups and Pop Warner!

I can't wait to do the calendars! They also had Princess, The Incredibles and Cars calendars.

I did the 10 day online check-in this morning too!

I must get one of those calendars, too!!!

Love Hannah's poem! I always feel like that when there is a Disney trip close by!

I understand why you forgot about the chargers.::yes::
You never made it past the $1.00 bin.

The chargers are all the way on the other side of the store. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: About the lady standing behind you when you found the hat.

Congrats on the online check in - so close.

Must find time for lunch before you go.

A lot of people around here have started painting pumpkins instead of carving them, but I love your sticker idea, too. Those turned out really cute.

Way to go on getting a Disney gift for the new baby. :)

The Minnie hat and the calendar are nice scores. :thumbsup2

I am so excited for your trip. I have been around Thanksgiving once and on Thanksgiving once, and I loved the atmosphere both times. It definitely gets you in the Christmas frame of mind. :santa:

Pat I don't even have that excuse because I was in the electronics section to get the Toy Story 3 DVD...and that was AFTER all the great finds!  I think that the euphoria just washed over my brain and erased that from my memory! LOL

Lunch: This week Friday is my only free day. Next week I have phone duty on Monday but I'm free Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We can do lunch on Monday if you can wait until 12:45 to go to lunch. Send me a text.

:dance3: :dance3:10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

I can't believe this day is finally here! It seems like I've been waiting f o r e v e r! So, of course, after getting my morning coffee this morning, the first thing I did was log on to the Disney website and do online check-in. As Clay was giving me the out-the-door kiss and hug this morning he said "See ya later my little Disney freak." :rotfl: :rotfl: Tomorrow we'll be in the single digits!!!!

On a separate note, yesterday was report card day. As ya'll know, Alison's grades hinged on whether she'd be going with us or not. Her grades were: Band - 100, PE/Health - 90, Science - 81, Social Studies - 82, Math - 79, Language Arts - 65 :sad2:. Clay said that Alison will still get to go on the trip but he was going to have a long talk with her about her Language Arts grade. He was traveling yesterday and was too tired to talk to her last night so hopefully he'll call her tonight. The only reason I can think her grade was so bad was because of projects and test scores. Both of those count for 30% of her grade.

Hannah got straight A's on her report card, which we already expected based on the Parent/Teacher conference.

The next few days are going to be busy with Scouts, homework and getting things together for the trip. Oh...and our 8th wedding anniversary is a week from today. Guess I better be sure to at least buy a card!  The cleaning frenzy will start this weekend. I cleaned Alison's pennies last night and discovered that the lid of her M&M tube is broken so guess I'm going to have to take one for the team and buy/eat all those M&Ms. The sacrifices we make!

Happy 10 days!!
You poor thing; having to eat all of those M&Ms. How will you ever survive?!:lmao::lmao:

Wow, online check-in done for you. That means I'm on the doorstep of it.

YIKES! That is sweet!

I'm about ready to start putting that pile of stuff in the closet in the suitcase. I can't believe it is sooo close.

How was online check-in? Pretty smooth I hope.

Hopefully Allison will come back refreshed and ready to kick butt at school.

How can you stand it?!?

I can't!  I'm getting crazy with excitement!!!
