Flying JetBlue from BUF

$916.00 USD

Should we wait and see if there is a seat sale from YYZ? We've never done the Buffalo thing so we not sure. :confused3

Thanks for any input.

With the taxes etc. I doubt you'll get anything cheaper out of Pearson. I'm flying out of Detroit...2 adults/2 kids for $904 which seems to be about the going rate so you did OK.

I just got a quote from Airtran for $886 from Detroit, so your price is reasonable. The cheapest I could get from Toronto was $1630 on Northwest.

I found the fall prices seem to be higher, but i would think this is a good deal. SW prices are alot higher then the past so i don't see the cheaper deals like before.

Those prices seem really high... does anyone know why that is? Perhaps that's the norm for that time of year, but it's far enough from U.S. Thanksgiving that I wouldn't think that would be the reason.

There's no chance you'll ever find a decent rate at YYZ in my experience.

Not sure why, but SW released it's rate recently until end of Oct and they came in higher then normal, i believe reutn was $218 _tax from Buffalo. So they are definetly not as cheap as we are use to but still probably 1/2 of what it would cost to fly Pearson

prices have gone up, and will continue, as their fuel prices rise.

You will not get cheaper from Toronto than Buffalo, ever. Even deals like Sunwing's $50 sale have $200 of tax on each ticket so they're really $250 each not $50, flights from the US don't have these 'taxes'. we are flying from Detroit in November for $600 for 4 ($54 each way).

Flying out of Buffalo or Detroit are well worth it, IMO and far less hassle than Pearson.

you are lucky if your flights from Detroit have no taxes or surcharges. The flights we were booking were $54.50 per person each way, with $112 each in taxes and surcharges.....total $886. Spirit was $140 round trip each, with a $81 tax hit each, for an $882 hit.

Can someone provide a breakdown on all those taxes and fees on Canadian airline tickets?

Since SWA is charging $924.00 for a party of four, I'd say you did just fine.

I would've expected that taxes would be the same percentage regardless of airline. Not so?

I believe all airports have the 9-11 Security tax and an Airport Improvement "tax". The Airport Improvement tax is high at Pearson because they now have to pay off Terminal 1. Also Pearson has the highest landing/take off fees so that is passed on to the passengers from the airlines.

That doesn't look too bad. There's 4 of us flying from Buffalo in December on JetBlue and got a price of $1100.

gfo to sothwest ign up for ding...we never fly out of yyz anymaore...it been 11 years 3 times a year out of buffalo..going may 14 to 19 got it very cheap on ding

Thanks, will look at the AirTran website shortly.

For JetBlue, how do you book the seats with more leg room? Both DH and I are very tall and would be willing to pay the extra for that.

Thanks ;)

Wow just got a price of $660 from AirTran for the same dates, non-stop flights.

read the fine print...

Fares shown do not include Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 is not included. Fares do not include segment taxes up to $3.50 per segment.

so add another $31/per person, each way..

we got the same kind of quote, $596 for 4 of us......then found out the additional taxes and surcharges brought the charges up tp $886.
