Thanks for that, I'm only there 12th to 16th so don't think I'll have time for Fort Wilderness segway tour this trip - will keep it in mind for next time. I thought the Epcot one would be good as I could do it the morning of my Epcot day. Your resort suggestions look great, will add them to my plans.

Yacht and Beach Club you could exit from Epcot by the International Gateway, Wilderness Lodge you could catch the boat from Magic Kingdom.

Epcot tour would fit in well if you are there for the day.

Thanks for asking Luisa - it's something I had been thinking about too And I think resort hopping is a great idea for an afternoon break.

Well in one month I will be arriving at the airport! Our flight is at 10am, we are going to park in long term parking (outside the airport, thinking Andrews but would love suggestions if anyone has them) and we will have breaky once we are checked in.

We are going to tell the girls this Sunday! I can't wait

On our past 2 trips I have done a treasure hunt type thing to tell the kids we were going on a trip. This time they have known about the trip the whole time but my son still asked me if I was planning a treasure hunt for them

Hi Everyone..

You guys must be getting very excited about your upcoming trip. Just thought that I would drop in and let you know how things are going.. As you know I was supposed to go in 20 days but had to cancel (DH was retrenched) so when I got the money back from the trip I took my mum to France instead and yes we did go to Paris Disney for the day. Can I say that it was nothing like Disneyland! A little disappointed that there were so many cigarette butts all over the place. They didn't open till 10am and were closed at 7pm and so many rides were closed due to "technical difficulties". I still enjoyed being there but it was hard not to compare.

I'm happy to say that WDW is back on the agenda but not till January 2014 So in the mean time I will have to read about your adventures and keep notes about any tips and suggestions.

Has anyone been to Hawaii and the new Aulani resort??? I'll be there in 6 months so is there any tips that I need to know?

Have been to Aulani and loved it!

The only suggestion is if you get a taxi to and from the resort. From the airport we caught one from there to Aulani. To return to the airport Disney use a specific taxi service, they have a set price deal and you need to book at the bell desk, the taxis most likely come from the city to collect you.

Woohoo, that is very exciting news for you. A bit sad to have to leave DS behind but it's only a quick trip, he's safe in his GP's arms. It will be a different experience for you, travelling over alone with 2 days to yourself. I'm really excited for you.

8) My family belongs to Disney Vacation Club, which is THE OTHER BEST INVESTMENT YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE IN YOUR LIFE. It is a lot of money up front, but if you are going to go to Disney anyways, it’s SO worth it and pays for itself quickly!

4 weeks today!

Still need to:
- book car rental
- start garden grocer list, order about a week out
- finish my google map
- buy medicine (children's panadol, ibuprofen etc)
- buy thermals

And for at home (we are having house sitters)
- change batteries in smoke alarms
- write house manual (how to use appliances, bin night etc)
- buy a lock for the study

And of course I have to totally clean the house...

I will add to this list as I think of things, hopefully having it on here will keep me on track

My husband just shared this really interesting link with me. It's about Walt Disney and how he was ahead of his time in the "user experience" field. This is exactly the sort of work my husband's company does but all "online based". I thought it was funny that he sent me this link and he now kind of has a newfound respect for old Walt.

I'm sure when we hit WDW this time he will see it all through new eyes. Although to be fair, he was extremely impressed with the detail that was put into everything previously.

It's just a really interesting read so if you have 2 minutes to spare, just another example of what a visionary Walt Disney was:-

Good read and very true that he was way ahead of his time. People like Walt Disney, Steve Jobs and George Lucas - visionaries who really changed the world because they pushed the envelope. I think the 'behind the scenes' side of the parks is as magical as the 'dream'.

I loved the book "DisneyWar" by James Stewart which was a look at the business side of Disney.

I have bought tickets for the Statue of Liberty I have booked crown tickets but it states children must be at least 4 feet tall and I don't think my 5 year old is tall enough - so my mum has offered to stay on the ground if needed.

I climbed the statue when I was about her age - I was so scared coming down, I thought I was going to fall I am not sure if miss 5 and miss 6 will even want to climb but I will be very sad if they do and miss 5 can't because she is too short

Just don't give it anymore thought. It will be fine. If you think about it, you'll make it happen. Just assume it's all good and it will be what it will be.

We told the girls! Yesterday my parents came for lunch and my dad told the girls how him and my mum were going to go to WDW, NY and Washington. The girl's first question was "could you bring me an American girl?" :lol and then he casually asked if they would like to come too!

After a moment of shocked silence there was shouts and laughs all round. I then brought out the tub of books I have bought about the destinations and we all sat down and watched the WDW planning DVD. Every time a new character or ride would come on there was giggles bubbling out of both girls (and me!)

They took the books to bed and I could hear Olivia reading out loud to Alexis - and then I heard them laughing and saying how great it all was. Brought a little tear to my eye

It finally feels real, 25 days to go!
