At the airport

Flight is in just over an hour, we are all checked in and have just sat down in the lounge at our gate to watch our plane!

How exciting!! Have a brilliant trip!

Flight is in just over an hour, we are all checked in and have just sat down in the lounge at our gate to watch our plane!

We have arrived in LA! Only one more flight to go

Flight over took a bit longer than expected, fuelling issues in Melbourne meant we sat on the run way for close to an hour and then a lady got really sick on the flight so on arrival in LAX we had to wait for paramedics before we could disembark. So all up our 14 hour flight took about 15.5 hours. (wouldn't that be your worst nightmare to get sick on such a long flight )

We have checked through the delta lounge and are having some Maccas - 9:30am here, 3:30am Melbourne time. We got up at 5am so it's been nearly 24 hours. I slept for less than an hour on the flight and I'm feeling it!

When we were coming into land the girls were both clapping and cheering, and going through customs the official said the girls were so polite that American children could learn from them. I'm a happy mum

Oh Dabecs, , that is great that you are nearly there. Sounds like your little princesses are winning friends and impressing people right from the start. Have an amazing day, get some decent sleep and hit the ground running.

I've put a quick update on the blog

It's after 10am here and everyone is still asleep! We finally got to bed about 10pm so we should all feel good today after such a solid night's sleep

I got my 4 parcels (3 Disney 1 Target) and everything is great! Only problem was Target sent a dark green polo instead of a Leopard print dress in the parcel?! I will shoot off an email but it's a pity because I bought matching ones (the other arrived) and the girls were going to wear them tomorrow for AK. It's not a big thing though and certainly won't spoil my day!

Going to spend today looking around the resort, will go to Artists Palette for brunch and maybe have a swim this afternoon. We have dinner at 1900 Park Fare tonight which I am really looking forward too

That is an amazing first nights sleep Dabecs. I feel sure this will stand you in good stead for avoiding a heavy dose of jetlag.

Dabecs hope you remembered to turn yourclockback today!! I thought we had cracked the 4am wakeup by sleeping to 6am, then realised twas actually 5am as the clocks went back last night, still sunrise was lovely
Ds7 has been up since 3am, so a quiet day here heading out to celebration and maybe downtown Disney

Yay! I saw that you'll be flying out from Sydney!?!?

I had enough time to get off the United flight from MLB to SYD walk/run round from one gate to the one next door via the toilets and to grab a bottle of water and board on my flight. They had already boarded all the Sydney travellers and were waiting on the Melbourne connection.

Quick update - I thought I would have more time/energy to write on here and the blog but I haven't! I have kept some quick notes for a proper TR when I get back (have taken about 350 photos since we left home).

Went to AK today - had so much fun Breakfast at Tusker House was a highlight. The girls were amazed by the characters and when Goofy held his ears behind him pretending to be my daughter with her ponytail she was over the moon!

Hope everyone who is on holidays are having as good a time as us!

Downtown Disney for us tonight which was great, kids loved the Lego shop in particular, and omg the world of Disney shop is huge!!! Last time I was in florid was 1991 and downtown was just pleasure island!! Then we went and sat on the beach at the Polynesian and watched the fireworks...lovely evening, now bed and get ready for legoland tomorrow

That World of Disney store is huge! I remember what DTD was like when it there wasn't much more than Pleasure Island, it's changed a lot since then.
