November 6, 2010, 11/6/10 - Eastern Magic

Hi

This is our first Disney Cruise, New DVC member so we got the free cruise, First cruise with children (2010 kids will be DD4 and DS 2) First cruise without a casino (snicker). But we are really excited!

Not sure when we can make dining reservations at Palo or when we can start to book off shore excursions. We have never done shore excursions with kids so this will be an adventure. We usually do the local tours instead of the boat tours but I dont think we will this time - I like the idea of having a plan with our kids (dont want to worry about carseat rules either). Also not sure who many we will be able to do with a 4 and 2 year old but we are happy just to shop play at beach etc.

Also looks like the best route is to stay at the Hyatt and ride the disney bus to the port. I like the idea of a car or limo but will not take car seats they are a big hassle.

Also a little disappointed to see so many folks disappointed with the service of Disney Cruises going down down down - from moldy rooms, poor food quality and service. I hope things change over the next year.

Last note for "today" we really hope we get to meet some of you! Out last cruise DH and I met some fellow online cruisers and we still chat today.

Oh we are from Seattle so our next Disney cruise would be Mexico but we have DVC booked through 2012 so we worry about that in the future.

Take care

FUN FUN

Hi everyone! We just switched to this cruise. We were originally booked for March, but found out we are having baby #2 in February so we had to switch. It will be me, DH, DS (who will be 3 at the time of the cruise) and the baby (who will be 10 months at the time of the cruise.) This will be our third cruise, but first 7 night. I have to go back and re-read everything, but if there is a FE exchange count us in!! Looking forward to chatting and meeting everyone:)

Justinsmommy07. Congrats on #2! We will have a 4 yr old son and 18 mo old son with us. Our buddies who are traveling with us will have a 4 yr old and another who is due a month before you! Lots of little ones.

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! We are excited about #2  I'm sure it will make travelling alot crazier.

Welcome!

That's great! Last time we cruised there weren't any kids in our Dis group close to DS age. It will be nice to have others who can relate:)

Hows everyone holding up in this summer heat? Is anyone ready for our cruise? I'm just counting down the days. Have a great day!

JoRo - Just wanted to say we are right there with you... new DVC members at GCV (didn't take the cruise though). Our kids will be 4 and 18 mo. Looks like there are a few kids in the same age group on this one! I hear you on the carseats, and am looking into limo companies that provide them.

Hello everyone! I'm so glad there is a thread started already for our cruise. We just got off the Magic last Saturday (western). It was our first cruise and our honeymoon. :goodvibes It was so magical we just had to book another one. The weather was extremely hot! The food and service were outstanding. We are already suffering from withdrawal... So here we are again. It will be just the two of us (DH and I).

Hello everyone. We just got off the boat last Saturday..Oct 3rd. We rebooked on board to get the obc, and connecting verandah cabins. This past week we had 6620 and 6622, and in Nov we will be EXACTLY across the hallway in cabins 6120 and 6122 :yay: This will be our 4th Disney cruise and our 9th cruise over all. Sailing will be me, DH Earl and DD Jennah 14 DD Macy 11 and our identical twin boys who will be 9 1/2 all at the time of sailing. Also will be our DBrotherInLaw who has gone on every Disney cruise with us. :upsidedow We LOVED St. Marteen but not so much for St. Thomas. Loved our cabins and our verandahs and the awesome Disney service, BUT the food quality was REALLY bad.. even worse then say Golden Corral or Home town buffet. Can't wait to get to know all of you..but right now my "cyclone hit it" home is calling my name. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Big :grouphug:

Hello all. We just moved our cruise reservation from a 10/16 Western to this 11/6 Eastern. It will me (43), Wife (44), Son (9), and Daughter (5) at the time of travel. This is our first cruise, and we are looking forward to it. We are booked in a Cat 9 room on deck two.

I see there hasn't been too much activity on this thread. On the previous thread we had over 100 pages, and then a new thread was started and that's over 100 by now. Not a lot of cruise talk quite honestly going on over there though.

:goodvibes Exactly the same thing with our last cruise thread. I was a little :guilty: sad to see that no one over here was very :chat: chatty. And as you experienced we also didn't talk alot about cruising..but more about our lives and getting to know everyone. :goodvibes I hope our group gets to that point.

I have a few questions...I'm not sure who started this group, but do we have a group name yet? Are we planing on doing the FE exchange and or the Secret Mickey gift exchange? With our last group [over 100 of us..38 cabins] we also did a meet and greet, a cabin tour, we had name tags made, rubber braclets made and had a dis breakfast gathering. I would love to head up any of them..just let me know. :lovestruc Hope you all have a nice afternoon and hope to hear from you all soon. :upsidedow:flower3:

It is quiet I just assumed it was because its so far away....

We are very excited this is our first disney cruise and cruise with kids and DS will be 2 and DD will be 4 so we think they will be old enough to really enjoy.

Not sure what kind of tours they will have for that age group - but beach time is always fun.

Breakfast sounds like fun! I love meet and greets and the only thing I do wish the disney cruises had was gambling - although I understand its not very PC - but I will miss my penny slots :)

We are already planning on two more days after the cruise for WDW the next year we are going to 10 in Oct. Being new DVC members its weird to book that far in advance but now we are excited.

I am ready for them to assign cabins too - we are really hoping for two port holes - we need two for the kids heads HAHAHA

ok more ltr

I agree that it is probably quiet because of how far it is...

I asked about group names, website hosting stuff (since we own our own domain and could easily throw something up there) and all that a while back. I don't mind putting that info together and I don't know if the person who started the thread is still around.

We will have a 4 yr old and a 18 mo old at sailing. We will be in a Cat 3 (T). Our friends traveling on the cruise with us will have a 4 yr old and a 10 mo old. We are also planning 6 nights at WDW (BLT or WL) prior to our stay and one night after (AKL). For us, flying in from the west coast, it only makes sense to make this a big trip. We've never done a disney cruise but honeymooned at WDW and haven't been back since 2005. Our older son has already been to Disneyland 2x, and the last time I was pregnant with our second. We are a disney family!

I'm really excited about this trip... with two little ones, I need a good vacation about now! Our older is currently potty training, which has been a much bigger challenge than I could have ever imagined. But, I am looking forward to only having one in diapers! I'm also looking forward to him using the kids club.

ETA: I just looked up the starting poster... they haven't posted since November of 2008... I think it is fair to assume they aren't actively on anymore. Objections to a new thread so we can put up info on the main post??

No objections with me :thumbsup2 Have you thought about any names yet? Our last group name was the Picaroon Pirates, Capturing the Caribbean. We can have our name tie in with either the Eastern theme or Mickey, Magical or even something to do with November. :rotfl: So much to choose from. I will think up a few and post later this afternoon. :upsidedow Enjoy your Friday. Big :grouphug:

Not sure what DD DH and all those mean???? This will be my second cruise and I loved the first one! I will be traveling with my daughter so it would be nice to meet up with other single parents. Can't wait!!!
