November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Happy Friday.
Safe travels Kathy (mom).
I don't watch Jersey Shore's either.
Is everyone going to pack this weekend? My sister will be at my house tonight, she is going to help with the FE gifts. I have to run out at lunch today and get suncreen... Hoping I will need lots and it is nice and sunny out on our trip!

Hi All,

Yay, Kathy (gma) is the first to leave!!! :cool1: Soooo excited for you, your DH and son!! Post here when you can to give us all Disney updates and help us all get even more excited.

Well, 1 week from today at this time, we will be IN the air heading to Florida! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly contain myself. :dance3:

They do provide shampoo, conditioner etc. I really like it too, it is by H2O, the bottles are a decent size, we probably go through one a day, and they always restock us when we are out:thumbsup2

Yes, I love the shampoo, conditioner and lotion they give you on the ship!! It smells so good, and is good quality. Yes, when you run out, or close to running out, just ask your stateroom host for more, or leave a note for him or her to leave you more! You'll love the products they give! We always end up with extra and bring some home... and I love that because we then will use it at home, and when I use it, it reminds me of the ship because the smell of those products I associate with the Disney ships!! :thumbsup2

Happy Friday.

Not packing here yet. I'll start packing next week. We are going away this weekend, so I am just packing for one thing at a time. But, I have all of my FE stuff set out, and organized, so that is all ready to go. And, I have a mental list of things to pack next week! But, I'll probably start packing sometime after Halloween. :cool1:

Hope everyone has a good day....

Take care,
Kathy

Wow, I have one day of work left, and I cannot wait. I am a IT Specialist. We are in the middle of upgrading 1100 client to Win 7. Unfortunately everyone wants to drag their feet and our users have way to much say. It slows down what should be an easy process.

Well, got some bad news today. My boss informed me that they are not going to pay for the Hotel on Sun night or Per Diem until Monday. So we will have to either pay the hotel and food out of pocket or leave Monday. We planned on paying Saturday night anyways as Sunday was the travel day, but now we may not leave until Sun. Our group was planning on driving down to Busch Gardens in Tampa because Monday is only registration and welcome speeches. To top that off the guy in the office that no one can stand, who's wife no one can stand is now going. My boss said after last year; there was no way he was going. No, he cried and complained and got his way because no one can say two letter words at work "NO"!!!!:scared1:

I am now just praying his wife can't go! Alone he is not so bad, but his wife is one of those Loud, Look how good and smart I am. As I rattle off dumb incorrect facts about everything. Sorry for the rant... Had to blow some steam I was told as we were leaving the office.:headache:

I so need a cruise right now!

Hope everything will go OK and you are just able to just tune out the guy from work and his wife! :rotfl2: That is what I would do... I'm good at tuning out annoying people. :rotfl2:

My DH has work stress this week, too! A bunch of "fires", so to speak, erupted at work this week for DH, all political stuff. He's in the management side of things, so he is the one on his team pretty much responsible to "put out all the fires", so he's working super hard this week to get things smoothed out before he leaves so he won't come back home to more "fires". But, he keeps saying it's getting harder to work because he keeps thinking about the cruise! At least he has that to really look forward to when work gets crazy!

Anyway, hopefully all the Win 7 installs went smooth and well!!! Are you a consultant that gets hired by other business/companies and installs software for them, or are you the IT specialist for a specific company who does all the installs for just that particular company? Must be an interesting job!! Never a dull moment when doing that many installs!

Kathy

Question: I assume DCL provides small toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, & soap. Do they replace them during the week if you go through them? & Does anyone know what brand they are? like Pantene, Suave, etc or are they generic?

It's H2O that's exclusive to DCL - AND their website! We have been known to purchase additional bottles of the body butter to help get by in between cruises! :thumbsup2

Mom's (Vicki) started packing already - the FE/gifts, swimgear, that kind of thing. But we'll wait and do most of our packing the night before. that said, I have a growing "pack stacK" of things that I don't want to forget - chargers, pirate costume pieces, etc...

I am an IT specialist for one organization. No never dull. Things constantly are changing. The one good thing about that I routinely start work and seem to no sooner get started and it is lunch and then again its the end of the day.

I do appreciate my users. They no matter how frustrated:mad: they get. They no that I am the one person in IT that will go above and beyond to get their issue resolved.

Got some good news the guys wife couldn't get work off on such short notice. We were all like shucks.. that sucks...:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::woohoo:

He also isn't flying down until Monday afternoon which means he won't be going to Busch Gardens with us. The first day is just registration, and speeches so we having mandatory fun with some of the guys I work with. It is something we don't get to do anymore. Used to happen but no anymore.

I got all my fires out told my people and the helpdesk what open items we had. Told them to call me next week because after that they are out of luck. :surfweb: I am officially done until we get back.:woohoo::banana::goodvibes

Well the storm front looks good so far. I was checking on Rina and the projections show the storm heading south, but When I look at the Radar map the storm is just west of Florida, and the action map shows it still heading toward FL. Though it is only a non tropical low. I guess if it is moving that fast now it will be gone by Sun/Mon.

Happy Friday All! 6 More days tell i'm on an airplane! So hard to concentrate at work, i have vactionitis. I think i spend half my time running through lists in my head, between boring things like packing to fun things like what exactly i'll be eating at food and wine.....bye bye diet for the cruise. Dh announced to me he was bringing back a friend with him from his parents house for the weekend. I said he could come as long as he wants to help us get everything done on my list of preperations for the cruise (i did promise to feed him fattening home cooked food and supply beer in return). So maybe my list will not only get done, but get done quickly so we can all have fun!
We had a lovely cold front come in last night, and since i have no working ac i was most grateful to be out of the 90 degree weather and into the 60's today.

Made some Door signs for the parental units! Although my very creative sister had already made up lots of stuff to dress the doors (i asked her to make me some extra stuff too)! I'm soo excited. :dance3:

Now off to finish laundry!:laundy: Have a great weekend everyone! Next Weekend we will be PARTYING!!! :jumping1:party:

1 hour and we are out of here.

Just need to pack for the dogs and I am all ready to go:banana::banana:

my next post will be from WDW, probably saturday or sunday.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on board:grouphug:

So, travelling with small children is not fun.

It looks as though we are going to have 5 suitcases, 2 suit bags, 2 backpacks, 1 diaper bag, and one toiletries bag.

Hopefully I can cut this back but I am not looking forward to it.

also, this is only for a family of 4......

Yeah, that part of it I'm not looking for to (there's 6 of us)...

That's not bad we have 5 bags for the three of us plus carry-ons. Though one bag is for WDW and one is just snorkel\Beach\and FE gifts.

WTGilligan are you ready to drive through the snow? I am sure it will be gone, but they are calling for 2-6 inches by tomorrow night through the West Virginia Mountains from Morgantown to Beckley. Suppose to be first accumulated before OCT 31 in twenty years. :confused3

Kind of Ironic, we planned originally to go on a cruise in Jan to get away from winter and snow. I guess Winter came to our cruise week instead:lmao:

Snow! Send some here. :D We don't get snow often, so it is fun when we do. :)

Well, we are just about to drive up north about 1 1/2 hours from Seattle for the weekend! Happy packing everyone!

BT, oh yes, I remember the days of traveling with a gazillion bags when the boys were really little! It is so nice now they are older... We can actually travel light!

Take care and safe travels to those traveling to FL this weekend!

Kathy

I think I will meet my packing goal of completeness by October 31. Just got through getting FE's put together. So far, minus FE's, we have 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small suitcase and a garment bag for the 4 of us. All that's left are camera's, chargers, etc. Clothes and toiletries, laundry detergent, and shoes are done! I actually pack the kids clothes in zip top bags and then put in the suitcase. Rolling, instead of folding the clothes seem to help too. I can actually cram one days worth of both kids clothes into one gallon size zip top bag. Did this for our last Disney trip and it came in handy to not have to think about what they were going to wear. We won't be able to do this much longer as they get bigger!

There are calling for flurries for us, we are north of Pittsburgh. The city itself is like 2-6. I have friends southeast of the city who are anticipating 10+inches.

As a kid, I lived in the northcentral part of PA and we would need to have halloween costumes big enough to fit over our snow suit because there would be feet of snow on the ground.

I don't anticipate any of this to stick around and it still won't stop me from the cruise!

Anyone wanna go get my newspapers for me? It's kinda cold out...

As cold rain falls here this morning, I am looking at our ship in port. It is hard to believe that the people getting on this morning will be the people getting off when we get on!

We have had this booked for over a year now. It has been a LONG wait, but a week from today we will be having lunch at Topsiders! Now thinking about THAT is the way to start my day!

Have a last Saturday all of you! Get packing!
