November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

I made my FE!!! :cool1: I'm so excited by the way it came out!!!!

I used a cut up paper bag as the backing for the duct tape. And I used some left over mickey white decals I had from making the door magnets. Everything else is duct tape!

Danielle, Your FE looks awesome:thumbsup2

I can't wait to get ours, I really hope it comes on time!

The closest I have come to thinking about packing is having DD look through her closet to see if she needs any evening wear! I will probably start putting things to oneside, as I think about then, but I pack so much better under pressure!

Kathy, we upgraded our video camera last year too, our old one needed a suitcase all of it's own:rotfl:

Claire

We watched the Magic pull out of port this afternoon, I can't wait until it is our turn:yay:

Danielle,
thats and awesome FE. It really came out great.:goodvibes
Cant wait to see it in person,

kathy

But then you'll see all the imperfections! It actually photographed really well and you can't see all the little mistakes. There are several things I would do differently if I were to make another one.

But thanks for the compliments!

WTGilligan, did you make your wallet yourself? Or was it a gift? My DH needs a new wallet....hmmmmm.

Off to catch up on the other posts from yesterday!

If you arrive after the time your room is ready then a few bags would be ok I guess because you can just drop them off in your room right away.
But it is a hassle to get them all through security and then get them up to the check in place and then to drag them on the ship.

To me its not worth the hassle. We have one check in bag and my small canvas bag, to carryon. Thats it.

If you arrive prior to the rooms being ready (approx 1:30 P.M.) it would really be a hassle to drag your bags around or have one person sit with them, plus most have lunch upon arrival and finding places to keep your bags out of the way for people to get by in the buffet would be a hassle too.

If it were me I would check all but one bag with all your important things like medicines and documents. Thats why they send you out luggage ID tags for a few bags. Its much easier for all not to have extra luggage sitting around to be in the way.
Just my opinion.

But when I think about it you dont see many with anything but a carry on and kids have backpacks checking in.

Do what ever works best for you,

Kathy

This is great advice... thank you Kathy! ... and now that we've added extra clothes for formal night, semi formal night, pirate night, as well as FE and FE gifts. A few extra checked bags are definitely the way to go :)

We have second seating also. We had actually been moved to first, but that is so early for us to eat, we requested to go back to second. DD does go to bed around 8:30, but I couldn't imagine being stuck in my cabin by 8:30 every night so we are just planning on her staying up late all week. Which will certainly back fire once we are home and she is beyond tired and super cranky and sleep deprived...but it will be worth it, right? :rotfl:

I plan to start laying stuff out this week to pack. I wanted to start today, but my house is a disaster and we have several things planned for the day. I just don't think I'll have time. I do need to get DH's suit to the cleaners though!

I'm thinking 3 shorts, 3 thirts, 3 nicer t shirts, bathing suits, 1 pair khakis each for DH & I, a few more things for DD since she tends to be messy
Formal wear, semi formal wear each (3 dresses for me, 4 for DD)
one pair nice shoes, one pair beach flip flops, one pair sandals each and I'm hoping to replace DD's mickey crocs on the ship.
light sweaters and 1 sweatshirt each
That's the essentials right? Am I missing something (besides the underwear, belts, socks, etc.)? Maybe I won't need as many bags as I thought?

Doesnt have to be a full outfit, but perhaps pirate themed t-shirts, head bandanas, eye patches???;)

Beleive me you'll be happy you checked all but carry on bags.
Besides all I said before most people want to walk around and explore the ship as soon as they board too and take lots of photos before everyone gets on board.
We always like to take family photos on the upper decks before it gets too busy and just photos of the ship in genereal. Thats too hard to do if your hauling extra luggage around.
Oh and dont be afraid to ask others, especialy crew members to take your family photos so you can all be in it. Most people are happy to help, then offer to take theirs if they want. We have taken dozens of peoples family photos on board as we stroll around.

Well, so far so good on the storm front. Their are no storms so far that could/should affect us. Though there is a big storm front sitting from Africa to South America that isn't really moving any where yet. This makes me nervous.

Hopefully it will not develop and this big storm will cool the water to prevent other storms.

My wallet was a gift from my kids for father's day. It is a brand called "Ducti" You can get it here: http://www.ducti.com/

Cleaning up after our pumpkin carving party. It was a blast. Started @ 4pm, and by 10pm and was getting tired but the kids were still going strong:cool1:. Carved about 30 pumpkins for the neighborhood.

Told my DW if funny we cleaned house from top to bottom Friday & Saturday. DW and MIL prepared all the food Friday Night and all day saturday. Had the party and now Sunday we are cleaning the house from top to bottom again.

Which my DW amazed me with her designs. Almost Disney like. Veggie cat, humus cemetery, bone shaped biscuits, skull ice cubes, Rice Crispy pumpkin, blood punch, carmel apples, cheese stick fingers, pickled toes. I sure there was more but those were the interesting ones. Post pics later.

Today, I got the lawn mowed for the final time, and our non hardy plants dug up, cleaned and stored in basement. Cut down leftover veggies from the garden. Helped DD catch the last few butterflies remaining. Good weekend but it was a lot of work.

But from the descriptions I'm not sure if i want to eat them. Ha Ha!!
It does sound like your DW is very creative, which is great. I wish I was more creative. But thats not one of my talents.

Quiet evening here tonight??

Hope to see a few more posts before bedtime.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Ashley finished the 100% duct tape FE today... it looks great! I'd post a picture, but I think I have to made a few more posts before they allow be to post photos? Did I hear that right?

Tim,
Those are awesome foods.

I love the carnivarious apples. The teeth look great. Were the teeth also apple or what did she use for the teeth?

I bet everyone rally enjoyed seeing that table of yummies waiting for them.

:goodvibes

They look so cute I would hate to eat them and mess up the design.
