November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

Add me to the roll call!!!! Im Tiffany (will be 21 when we sail) and DH is Donald (turns 26 next month). We have 3 children (ages 4, 2, and 1) but this is our first cruise and we are only bringing our youngest. He will be 18 months on the cruise. Im sooo excited!!! I think my hubbys getting tired of me talking about it LOL.. Ive never been on a ship and DH has only been on a ship once for a Tiger Cruise with his dad when he was little and his dad was Navy. We live in Jacksonville, FL so we are just going to head out early on Sunday and drive to PC. About 2 maybe 2.5 hour drive?!

I'm constantly adding events to my calendar to make the time go by faster...it's working almost to the 4 month mark!!

Hi Lisa
"only" 144 days to go. I know what you mean about filling in your calender to make the time go by faster.
Between now and then, I have my first grand child due later this week/early next week:love: , a friends wedding:bride: and a family reunion:grouphug: in July, and then a trip to Myrtle Beach :beach: in late August. Then absolutely nothing is going on until the cruise. That is going to be a loooonnnng 2 months. Guess I will just have to "dream" from August 29 till we depart for the cruise on
Nov 2.

me too! I have almost the whole summer planned, so that will make at least 2 months fly by!

Just checking in again. I can't believe we don't have more of a following, I thought this was the big NJ week!?!

I'm a little disappointed, because based on last years calendar, my DD would have 2 days off from school, and therefore only miss 2. HOWEVER, I just checked the new calendar and she will be missing 4 days!! She will be in 1st grade, and I know for some people this is a no-brainer, but I must admit I feel a little guilty :confused3

What is Jersey Week?

I miss going with everyone on 11/4. I am booked to go on the Wonder right before you. I leave 11/1.

Yes, I am really surprised too. Unless many people opted to go to WDW instead.

Which county do you live in? Which days does she get off? We live Ocean and they are given the Thursday and Friday off.

When we took DD out to go to Disney when she was in first the teacher was very excited for her and accomodating. This year she will be in 3rd grade. I think it gets difficult once they are in middle school and high school since then they have more than one teacher.

In New Jersey, our children get two days off the second week in November for Teachers Conventions. In the past several years, WDW has noticed a HUGE influx of visitors from the Garden State visiting the World at this time period. Hence, they call it Jersey Week.

I think even the airlines have gotten hip to the idea too. When I booked my return flight I was shocked by how much more they want for a direct flight! Sadly we had to purchase one with a connection because there was no way I would pay $400 per person for a flight from Orlando to Newark!:scared1:

Hi everyone. Just checking in.
Pleased to announce that my DD had her baby on 6/25 and I have a beautiful grandson, 9lb 3 oz, 21 inches long and a full head of black hair.
Now I can't wait to plan his first Disney trip - even though it will be a couple of years from now.:goodvibes

Only 121 days to go. We got our "Castaway Member" packet of cruise info in the mail last week. It was a nice little "escape" to the coming cruise.

I'm actually from Baltimore, MD, but last year, and in 2008, they schools are closed Monday and Tuesday of that week. This coming year, they are closed the Friday before we leave

Congratulations on the new arrival! I just received my "Ship and Shore Vacation Guides" in the mail today. As a first time DCL cruiser, it's so exciting to open that mailbox and find something unexpected! (Eventhough after spending so much time on the DIS, none of the information is new :rotfl: )

Hello fellow cruisers! DD7 and I just booked this cruise yesterday. I think the cruise will be fairly crowded. We could only get the late seating for dinner. I have us waitlisted for the early seating. We're going to head to WDW on Friday to go to MNSSHP and before heading to port on Sunday.

Hi! Just joined the "DIS" Boards. My Husband and I will be on the November 4th Disney Wonder Cruise with our 3 1/2 year old Daughter. We have already been on two other Disney Cruises with her and just love them, you get what you pay for! We live in Florida not far from the Port and it's pretty convienient for us to go on these cruises. We aren't sure yet if we go for her or us!! Anyways, would like to meet you all on the ship!

Welcome aboard F1J and DRC! Sounds like we are going to have a nice num ber of us DISer onboard! Hopefully I can plan a nice little DIS Meet for the first day!:goodvibes

Of those going on this cruise, are any of you going to WDW resort before the trip? How about after? Which resort will you be staying at?

We will be going before and staying at the POFQ.

Hi Everyone!!
We were originally booked for 7 night on 11/3....but for financial reasons beyond my control...needed to make a change to 4 night... so here we are!! My DS12 and I will be joining you and are so excited!! Doesn't look like we have too many cruisers signed up here on the DIS...hopefully we'll get a few more as the cruise draws closer... Any others out there with boys around 11 or 12?? What is everyone doing for excursions in Nassau? Last time we rented a room at Comfort Suites and spent the day at Atlantis...not this time though....too expensive...unless someone else wants to go in on the room! Gotta run...more later!

Hi Shana!

Nassau day we are planning to stick close to the ship. We will probably go to see the steps and the Pirate Museum and a little shopping. Then we will be back in the ship for the rest of the day.

Welcome aboard Shana and drc712:goodvibes

Shana: On Nassau day, we will probably just do a bit of a "walking tour" for an hour or two (I printed a copy of a walking tour that hits the historical areas) with a little shopping thrown in there too. Then the rest of the time will be on the ship. I look forward to just sitting on deck 10 somewhere with a cold drink and watching the world go by.

ChrisLei: This trip we are just doing the cruise. Plan to book a Double Dip
for next May on this trip. We love the Port Orleans resorts. I've lost track of how many times we've stayed at Riverside. FQ is a beautiful resort, but DH prefers Riverside, so that's where we stay, but secretly I like FQ better.:rolleyes1
We will be in Cocoa Beach on Saturday, Nov 3. We travel via the AutoTrain and plan to arrive the day before the cruise so we can have supper at our favorite restaurant and spend a little time at the beach.

Only 105 days to paradise.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Just looked at my calendar and it is 103 days till cruise time. which means on Friday of this week, we'll be at 99 days. Finally.... :dance3: :cheer2:
