November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

Joe...repeat after me "I am NOT a freak....I am NOT a freak".
I am 55yo, and DH is 56 and we still love disney. After all these years, it is still our favorite vacation destination and for our "children" are 24 and 26 it is still their favorite vacation. Our (DH & I) first trip was way back in 1976.
I am currently planning a trip for next Sept for us, the "kids" their mates and my grandson. So, you see, you are normal. Be happy. You are among friends.

We didn't get an upgrade either but I didn't expect one since we have 2 connecting cat 10's on deck 2.
We plan to be at port fairly early too. We will be at the Comfort Inn and Suites the night before and DH will drop us off and return a rental to Budget.
Let's see what else......early dining....we have a party of 7 (4 kids, me, DH and my sister-in-law for the help! Should be a noisy table for whoever gets to dine with us!)
Still haven't decided what to do with Nassau.....
Hope to do some snorkelling at CC
No plans for Palo at this point. We'll save it for the next cruise....:thumbsup2
We are going to Disney (POP) after the cruise for 4 days. It worked out better this way with DS turning 3 on Sat. Nov 10th.
I really have to buckle down and start packing. I've been hourding stuff into my closet for ages but I need to get it organized and into suitcases.

We got our docs today...woohoo!! As I was backing out of the driveway I saw the UPS guy pull up. He took f-o-r-e-v-e-r getting out of the truck, but when I saw him head for my house I knew what was in his hand~ :yay:

I'm going to play it by ear and see what the weather forcast is for our Monday in the Bahamas. We are probably going to do the Atlantis Beach Day (acquarium and beach access/including lunch)- unless I change my mind 14 more times.

That's the best idea, I think. My dh was the one who wanted to book. I just hope it all goes well. I've been going to the tanning salon because I am SO white right now, which of course means it's going to rain. :lmao: But I will still keep my fingers crossed.

Still working on packing....pulled our passports and birth certificates yesterday and made copies of everything. I forgot that my son is going out of state with my parents this weekend so I had yet another thing to pack for. :sad2: But I'm at least halfway done...maybe a little more. :)

Hoogy
We're staying at the FourPoints by Sheraton right next door to the Comfort Suites in Cocoa. That is a very convenient location. There is a grocery store and small shopping center is across the street & about a block away, the Ron Jon Surf Shop, which is always good for wasting some time in, is a block away, and you are a short 1 1/2 to 2 blocks away from the beach.
The Courtyard area of the Comfort should be very nice for your children to use to burn off some energy.
We don't have anything specific planned for Nassau. Last time we just did some shopping and took a taxi to Atlantis for a couple of hours. This time, I have a "walking tour" from Fodors site that takes about 2 hours and hits the historic sites that we may do, then just spend some time sitting on deck 10 of the ship having a drink or 2 and watching the Bahaman world go by.:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone! In the same day we got our marriage license  , we got our cruiseline documents!! YAY!! We didn't know where we would be because we were GTY for the room. But we're on Deck 2, oceanview. So we'll be moving down 3 floors from our first cruise. But we're right at Midship, so that's all good!

Two Weeks til my wedding!

(15 days til the first cruise, 18 days til the second!)

Those that have received their cruise documents did you book directly thru DCL or a TA? We don't have ours yet but maybe they will come today. We have a GTY cabin too, will our documents have our cabin # or might we have to wait until checking in at the port?

We have Palo brunch at 11:00 am. I think that we're plannning to take the harbor cruise in Nassau. We've seen the Atlantis aquarium, been on the historical tour, so I'm thinking of doing this to see Nassau from the water and then a little shopping in town.

Is anyone interested in the watercraft tour on CC? Right now we have 2 doubles booked but my DS's say they don't want to do it, so we're planning to cancel it. I think it's around 10:45 ish. I can go online and check the time exactly. I do know when I was looking at excursions it showed this time to be full.

Verified where our passports are at home, other than that nothing towards packing. I did buy my DS1 a new swim suit yesterday on clearance and now DS2 says he wants one too. They outgrew the ones they wore over the summer so hopefully I'm getting them big enough to fit for out next cruise over spring break (on RCCL).

I booked through a travel agent - and I got some sort of documents about a week ago. They came UPS and I had to sign for them. Inside were luggage tags for the Disney Cruiseline transportation that I had arranged. Also were the transportation vouchers and Bahamian customs forms. The booklet that has the transportation vouchers says on the front - something along the lines of - this booklet contains your cruise contract, read it carefully... or something like that. But I don't see any contract inside. I'm assuming there'll be another package of documents coming...

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I know there are some forms on the website that you can download in advance; maybe that's what they're referring to? :confused3

If you did your "online check in" you won't receive the cruise contract is what I was told, because you should have already read it online.

And yes- if you have a GTY room- your room number will be on your documents.

We booked through Disney direct....we got ours quickly. We only booked the 11th and got the documents the 15th. But we also live in Florida, so who knows.

:woohoo: Another happy dance....I mean, I am at work, but I know my vacation is coming up soon!

Cool, thanks. That makes sense. They should probably explain that in a cover letter or something though... I was expecting a contract, and didn't get one so it was a little confusing. Not that I really need the contract or anything, I just like to have all the right documents...

With regard to the Cruise Contract:
If you did "online checkin", you are to print off the cruise contract, read and sign it (on the last page). You must then take the contract along with you to check in at port.
To get to the cruise contract online, once you have completed the online checkin - giving all necessary info along with cr. card info, you will then go to cruise contract area right below the online checkin heading, open that heading and then print off the contract.
You will not get another contract in the mail.

Joe, what you received are your documents and if you did online check in that is all you will receive.
I did online checkin and all I received were the Bahamas forms and the luggage tags, we have our own transportation, so didn't get the transp. stuff.

Hope this helps.

The other day I printed off the "Online Check-In Signature Form" which consisted of the following pages: "Disney Cruise Line Cruise Contract Signatures", "Payment Authorization Summary 1/2", "Guest Information for Your Disney Cruise Line Travel Party" & "Payment Authorization Summary 2/2".

Is this all I need or do I need to print out the actual contract as well? I was under the impression that the "Online Check-In Signature Form" took care of the contract signatures.

So confusing  I just want check-in to go smooth. Thanks for your help!

So... I haven't filled out anything online, so I should receive all the documents in the mail then? Is that right?

Also I just checked on line and our stateroom # still says GTY. Perhaps we'll have to wait until check in? Maybe we'll get upgraded, that would be real nice. I just hope we don't get a bad room if there is such a thing.

Joe: As long as you have the signed pages, I would think that should be sufficient. The signature forms is all they really care about anyhow.
I would imagine that they have extra forms at the terminal for anyone who needs them. There are people at the terminal who help out by checking to make sure you have all necessary forms/signatures before you even go to the check in counter. That way you can be sure check in runs smoothly.

TyeDye: If you did not do online check in, I would think that you would receive all of the printed paperwork with your documents. Also, you have Palo Brunch the same time we do. I'll wave as I am on my way by to get some of those crab legs.

We booked online directly with Disney and booked a specific stateroom, so I'm not sure how the assignment of a Gty room works.
I do know from reading the boards, that most people seem to have a room assigned when they receive their documents. I have also read that people who have assigned rooms find that occasionally DCL will re-assign/upgrade even after the documents are sent out. In that case, you may not find out till you get to Port, or they call you to let you know. So those who have not received upgrades (me included) may still get a surprise.

We got our documents today also!:yay: In Nassau, we are thinking about just hitting the beach. I am trying to find out information about using the beach at the Hilton.

Is Pirate night the last night of the cruise?

I EMAILED THEM IT IS 15.00 FOR THE DAY AND YOU HAVE USE OF THE BEACH AND POOL. ALSO THE WYNDHAM IS THE SAME.

WE GOT OUT DOC'S TODAY. NO UPGRADE OH WELL pirate:

I've kind of sort of started thinking about packing. I can't decide what to wear on our "semi-formal" night. From reading the boards I see that the emphasis is on semi.

I'm doing skirts and blouses (cruise casual) for the dining room with the exception of PIRATE NIGHT where I will be wearing my pirate clothes.

Sooooo, help me pack - what is everyone doing about "semi" night?

Thanks!!!!

P.S. Congrats to the soon to be newlyweds/honeymooners; Hopefully we will see you on board in the Minnie Wedding ears!!! and

Joe - Great pictures!!!!! I've also been known to sneak off to obscure corners of the mouse house to take some shots. You say you are a secret devotee of the boards, yet you have no BOO for your signature. If you want a Boo, let me know and I send it to you by PM.

Sooooo, help me pack - what is everyone doing about "semi" night?

Do we know ahead of time which night is semi night? Or does it go by restaurant? From what I've seen it looks like Parrot Cay is more casual while people seem to dress up a little more for Tritons and AP. We are not doing anything formal, but my dh will be wearing dress pants with a nice shirt and I will be doing a dress one night and skirts on the others. I have the same type of clothes for my kids. I think after being in the water all day (at Nassau and CC) it will be nice to get a little dressed up.

I EMAILED THEM IT IS 15.00 FOR THE DAY AND YOU HAVE USE OF THE BEACH AND POOL. ALSO THE WYNDHAM IS THE SAME.

THANK YOU!!!!!! I think we are going to do that for the morning in Nassau, then head back for the boat activities in the afternoon.

Monica; If I followed everything right, semi-formal night is our at sea day - Wednesday. But now I can't remember for sure, so it could be Monday but I am pretty sure it is Wednesday.

Still undecided about what to wear that night. Have selected two possible candidates if I go for dress rather than skirt. This could entail packing another pair of shoes!!!
