November 4, 2010 Wonder Cruise

Sounds like several of us will be in EPCOT after we dock.
Gotta hit Test Track and Soarin'- 2 of our favorite rides!
I will try to eat a "light" breakfast Bev, so I can pack in the food at Epcot. No worries- have the rest of the winter to diet:rotfl2:

Bev- your pirate evening sounds great. We will stay at Epcot until it closes and also see Illuminations. Last year, I took one of my severly handicapped students on her senior trip- she needed a one-on-one escort. I took her to see Illuminations. I was missing my husband and daughter so much just listening to the music that I called them and they listened along with me. I'm tearing up again thinking about it. I even have the CD so I can listen to it in my car.

Went to walmart today to pick up a couple of things. I have read in here that the cups at the drink fountain are small- I ALWAYS have to have something to drink. Walmart had these hard plastic, clear cups with lids and a plastic straw- 24 oz. They look perfect! They were only $5 each.

Well, cruise time is almost here!!
What will we do when it is over-I know, I just may need to book on board and look forward to that!

Have a great week- everyone!
Hey, do we all want to meet? Having never been on a cruise before, someone who has can set it up and we will be there!

Peter & Jenn...

Your name is very familiar. Were you by some chance on a Disney cruise last November, around the 20th? Or maybe I've just seen your name here on the DISBoards so much that you seem familiar. ;)

Did your wife surprise you a year or so ago with a fireworks cruise? Maybe that was it. This is going to drive me crazy until I remember where I know your name from. Maybe you rented some DVC points from me??

We did a Wonder cruise last Thanksgiving!

I did have a recall on your name but could not remember why!

We don't rent points!!!!
LOL ok a few sometimes..

Congratulations on the upgrade!! Goofylovers - good luck, and maybe it will come through soon.

We requested a specific stateroom so I'm not sure if they'll upgrade us, although they did last time.

If anyone is interested in reading a trip report from a couple who just went on their first DCL cruise, send me a PM and I'll send you the link. It won't let me post it here.
The TR has lots of gorgeous photos of the ship and especially Castaway Cay.

Sure-would love to see the Trip Report..Please send us the URL link, thanks...

I read the entire thread, We are cat 11 GTY ... we are not big fans of deck 2

has anyone received documents yet?

going to DCL site to see if we got assigned a room yet. :littleangel:

Web site allows for GTY booking only....:teacher:

And the cruise Jenn got off of was booked solid! :grouphug:
as was the one before hers.

no upgrades at port...

Haven't gotten mine yet:confused3

I wish we would get it. It would give me something to look at while we are counting down.

Hi Cindy,
I mentioned in an earlier thread that it would be fun to have a short Meet and Greet our first afternoon, maybe around 3pm in the lobby atrium near Triton's Restaurant, next to where you first board the ship. We could chat awhile, learn everyone's faces, maybe get a group photo. We were going to attend the DVC welcome event about that time, but I found out they'll have other DVC events during the cruise so we don't need to make that one on the first day.

Would 3pm on our first afternoon be okay with other folks?? Don't forget there's a mandatory safety drill at 4pm and everyone will need to get their life vests from their staterooms for that.

Sounds good to me:cool1:

My husband just e-mailed me to say the AAA travel agent called and our documents are in:yay:

Running home after school and then to the AAA office to pick them up- can't wait.

Have a great day everyone
Cindy

Anyone book on points?

Jenn got a real nice present from DVC in her room, last cruise...

HI all!

Welcome to the thread Peter & Jenn. Looks like you got all the names right!:thumbsup2
Is this your 1st Disney cruise?

Bev ~ thanks for the link. It was very interesting to read an adult perspective of the cruise.
I'm in for a meeting as suggested but will have to say no to FE, thanks.

CIndy ~ thanks for the allears link.

I haven't received my docs yet although my TA has them. Apparently she's waiting for the park info. Did those of you who received your docs also get your park info?

See you real soon.;)

~Jo~ :)

Congratulations on your upgrade!

I talked to DCL today when I noticed the Florida resident discount is now available for our cruise. However, because we booked during our cruise last November, we got a discount plus a $100 onboard credit, so the FL resident discount couldn't be applied. Plus, it would have been about $300 more than our current price.

The CM did say there were only about 45 rooms available on the ship. Not sure if he meant for the particular category we were hoping to upgrade to (from Cat 10 to verandah), or if he meant 45 rooms on the whole ship. Sounds like they might fill up the boat this time, too.

Were Staying At The Swan From Sun, Nov 7th-10th & Plan To Visit Epcot & Hollywood Studios..Can't Wait!!

Hi all!

Well I finally got my docs from my TA today!:thumbsup2 Sure was nice to get that compact
little book instead of the 25 pages I got from RCI.

I have a question about the Food Festival. I looked at the other site & see what's available to eat. Are these places like Argentina & Korea buildings or booths set up around Epcot please? Only 24 more days 'til I get to sample them!

Have a great weekend folks, it's our Thanksgiving but there'll be no turkey for me this year.:sad2:
~Jo~ :)

Hi all,
At the Food and Wine Festival, there are booths that are set up. They are spread out around the lake. It is really alot of fun! We go from booth to booth eating and drinking-mostly eating, though- I'd rather eat my calories than drink them:rotfl:

Headed out this weekend to buy "needed" supplies. A new Target opened up at one of the malls in the area- hey, it's Jersey- there are 5 malls within a 30 minute drive!

Have a great week- Today is our 17th Wedding anniversary:love:

Hi all!

Cindy ~ thanks for the info. A couple more questions. Is there a map showing what booth is where?
Should I have received my Parkhopper with my cruise docs?

Happy anniversary & many more healthy happy ones!:flower3:
Have a great weekend!
~Jo~ :)
