OK, peeps...I'm planning to teach a scrapbooking class or two (or three!) during this cruise! If you are interested in something like that, please let me know. Also, let me know what types of things you'd like to learn...mini album, technique class, or just some layouts to get ready for your photos (and maybe even PRINT your photos right there to take home finished pages???) I need to start scoping out supplies soon!

Thanks Pengy. :)

Is anyone else planning to make a door sign? I've never done one before. I looked at the threads and they look great.

And what about pillowcases or photo mats for the characters to sign? I was thinking I might do a photo mat.

Thank you for adding my name onto the list of people cruising.
We are looking forward to this trip, can't wait for it to get here.
I think making a door sign is a great idea.....
I read something about bringing pillowcases for the kids...I didnt realize the characters signed them. Thank you!

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise (same time every year) and we have made door signs for every trip, it's fun. Only tip I can give is....make sure you put your room number on them, last trip someone kept taking ours off the door.

I took a photo mat to be signed last trip and it came out absolutely terrific, a real nice souvenir.

There are various threads discussing what people brought to Guest Services for the characters to sign. Most people also included a variety of colored pens. There are some tips about making the signatures colorfast. I think someone mentioned using vinegar in the wash.

Also, you can see the thread, "Best Size Picture Mat to Purchase for Autographs" in the DCL main forum. It even shows a great picture of a mat w/signatures.

Also door sign threads there. I just visited a website today to get some clipart Disney pictures to make my sign.

Oh, that's great. What size signs do you make? It looks like the door number gets in the way a bit.

We made ours on 8 1/2 by 11 magnetic paper that I bought at Walmart.

I also bought some Disney magnets at the dollar store, they had Mickey, Cinderella, etc.

I also just found some Pirates of the Carib., decorative stickers (they are removable and won't leave any stickyness behind) at Walmart on clearance.

We've done door signs for both of our cruises (a 4 night, and a land and sea with the Polynesian). We purchased the clear 8 1/2 x 11" holders at Michael's so we could slide the pages in for each day and brought along some spares just in case. (Our printer didn't like the magnetic paper for some reason) :confused3 Adding the room # or othewise personalizing (maybe not with the children's names though?) is a good idea, unfortunately we've heard of a few door signs disappearing.

We also dropped off pillowcases for the DDs with fabric markers on each trip. We ironed on pictures of their favorite Disney characters (the iron-on sheets would work in the printer!) as well as the girls' names. The characters did an excellent job!!

On our last cruise, I made 12x12 door signs, then stuck little bits of magnet on the back. That way, when we got home, I could peel the magnet off and have ready-made scrapbook pages!

Love that idea
I can't wait to scrap this trip....I came across the cutest paper just the other day with Donald Duck and anchor's all over it....it was so cute!

Our family is excited to be joining all of you on the Nov. 3rd cruise. This will be our 7th Disney cruise, but the last was a few years ago so we're ready!!! We will be a part of the group on the ship - another reason we're so excited...

This will be DD (14)'s first cruise in the teen program. She's made a lot of friends in the clubs on previous cruises, and they still email occasionally. Our DS (11) is looking forward to some of the new things in the Oceaneer Lab since the last cruise. DH and I are looking forward to a great week to relax with the kids and enjoy all of the special events planned.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. The kids don't know about the trip yet, but once they do, I'm sure they'd love to email some kids their age...

Linda
