November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

Hey, I DON'T want to live in NJ...This is gonna be a problem!! LOL! I wanna live in Florida!! I hate the weather here in NJ...I happen to LOVE 90 degrees and muggy!!! I've been told that I'm nuts, but I really mean it! When we went to WDW in December a couple of years ago, I almost cried when it was only 65!

Is anyone buying any new clothes for this cruise, yet?

Hey Denise!

We can start prospecting places to retire! DH and I are already dreaming about it! One of these days...

Karen

Actually we've tried and are still trying to find DH a job on the Space Coast, around the Melbourne area. He's a systems engineer and the difference in pay from NJ to FL is about 30 - 50% less. Hey, we might as well stay here for now and just keep going to visit, for now!!

Buy new clothes? Not me! Not unless 2 pair of pants, 2 skirts, 3 or 4 tops, 3 pair of shorts, a semi formal dress, and a formal gown count!:lmao:

I'm in a wedding in September, so I think I'll cheat and wear the gown from that for Formal night. Whatcha think???

I think that you can wear just about anything, these days, on a cruise. Especially on a Disney cruise! So DH and I push the envelope on Formal Night. I wear a long sundress type thing and he doesn't wear a tie or jacket, but a Hawaiin shirt over a matching tee. Hey, we're on vacation!! I do love to see the others all dressed up, though.:confused3

As long as it's not a teal satin dress with a hoop skirt, parasol or really poofy sleeves we promise we won't laugh.

Gotta be better than the one I bring year after year because it is so easy to pack and never wrinkles. Might as well not get another formal picture taken this year as the only thing that changes is that I have aged and shrunk because my kids have grown so much.

Denise,

:rotfl: Too funny! :rotfl: Jim and I did the checking into moving to Florida several years back (before kids lol) and found out the same thing. We want to go so badly, but now he's got 20 years in with the state, and that really wouldn't make any sense at all! Now we can hope for an early retirement buyout!! :rotfl2: Wishful thinking, I know...

Hey, I think I have a few of those. :lmao: For years it was always a bridesmaid never a bride for me. And those dresses my "friends" made me wear! :rotfl2:

But now, it'll be thirteen year anniversary for DH and I this September. I'm thinking about a weekend away for the free dining special. Not quite sure how the kids will take it though. But they'll get to see WDW before the cruise so that should be okay, right?;)

I've bought a few things for the cruise, but I've got a long way to go! Packing for six -- yuch!!!

It's funny you said that, I was in a wedding years ago and wore a teal satin dress and carried a parasol, brings back some memories.:scared1:

I'm not sure which is sweeter, the "before children" years or the "empty nest" years. We are enjoying the "EN" much more than the "BC"!

I think it is great to be able to wear your bride's maid dress on the cruise. Nothing is more ridiculous than paying good money for a dress you can wear only once! If it IS teal tafetta you can always make sexy pillowcases out of it!

..........Hi All:wave2:
You guys are too funny!!!
SweetSpot- I'll go shopping with ya:goodvibes .

Can I take an informal poll?
Who drives to Florida and who flys??????:confused3

You need to go shopping with me. Someone has to tame my tackiness!

Give in and drive. Think of the party we can have at midnight Thursdays night in the Hampton Inn in SC after driving 12 hours. Ick, now I'm talking myself out of driving.

I have to save my energy for the party at RJ the night before the sailing.:lmao: :woohoo: :dance3: :rotfl2:

Flying. Can't imagine driving with 11, 8 and 6 year olds. Still waiting for Jet Blue to come out with their Nov. fares.

Since December, we've had Jet Blue out of Stewart. I flew into Orlando for a golf trip in February and it was great. 10 miles from the house, parking at Stewart is like parking at the supermarket, 20 feet from the terminal entrance, no crowds, no delays.
Note to Jet Blue: Don't hit us too hard with November fares.

We are driving...

Yes, four kids, maybe five???? And we are nuts!!!!:rotfl:

We are actually heading down with some Jerseyites the week before the cruise and staying in Orlando at Weeki Wachi or something like that. Then we'll take the kids to WDW for a couple of days and do the Not So Scary Halloween.

So I guess we're driving to the port, hehe:rotfl2: Only a couple of hours, too.
