November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

I'm excited, too, BUT, DDs don't know yet, so if I think about it too much, I know I'll slip up. Also, I have a LOT to do between now and then, so if I start obsessing too much, my other things won't get done (including planning a short trip to WDW in September! :cool1: )

I did try some cruise shopping the other day (I'm a tie dye/croc kinda girl, don't own much "cruise casual" :hippie: ) but it was bust. I did get a cute pair of brown shorts and a pink shrug, but still need the perfect brown top to go underneath. I ordered 3 swimsuits from Lands End, hoping that at least one will work for me and I did order a few things from Disneyshopping, still hoping that they fit/look good. It's the formals I'm worried about, esp for 11yo DD...

I've had my formal for a while now (okay, I confess I bought it on the cheap when they went on clearance after prom season). Hubby's tux has come out of the closet so he can try it on (still haven't been able to get him to do that). I've decided I'm in the market for a Mickey Mouse bow tie and cumberbund now.

I won't buy nething for DH and I for the cruise yet...hes been losing weight and i WANT to lose weight.I usually lose a few pounds over the summer so I plan on waiting till end of season sales. Also, DD is 8 and lately she literally grows overnight so buying stuff for her is pretty pointless. Plus , we really have no place to put anything since we are renovating in my house and I lost 3 closets!! all my clothes are in DD's room.

Question: is neone else from nj flyin down the day before? I really want to do that so that on the way we can pick up some drinks and maybe even stop by the space museum....

I think you will find the majority fly down the night before. We drive from NJ every year and stay the night before at RonJons. We try to get there early enough to make RonJons the first day of the trip. Also, since we drive we don't have to worry about stopping for drinks. We bring them with us.

We'll be flying in the morning of the cruise. We can't get the time off from work the day before.

I think that's what we're doing too. I think that early in November should still be fairly safe in terms of snowstorms here in Chicago. I know there are still freak storms, but the chances are pretty good that all will go well at that time. The last few years, the summer fades pretty slowly here in Chicago. Most days around that time are still in the 50s.

Flying in the night before and staying at the Radisson, but we WILL be headed over to Ron Jons for Sweet Spot's pre cruise party. You ARE throwing us a party, right?:lmao:

We're driving down, going to stop at HHI (DVC) for a few nights, then Friday night at Coronado before heading over to the Magic on Saturday. I'll have a cargo trailer that I'm still trying to figure out the best place to park it for the week...

Considering the group staying there with us that night, there definately will be a party 'round the pool bar. Love the place. Kids go in the pools, go to the game room, play mini golf and the parents are free to have fun.... much like a cruise ship without the mouse.

just got my flight info from Disney...........
Looks like I'll be making a stop in Atlanta before reaching Orlando

Bumping us back to page one.

Is anybody going to do door magnets? Did I read somewhere that Disney is now discouraging them? I wasn't going to do it, wasn't even interested in doing it until I read a post where somebody said it helped them find their room in a long corridor with hundreds of identical white doors. After a long day of sun, sand, and tequila, I might need all the help I can get.

Yes we are definately doing door signs, it's fun!!! You can make door signs as long as it's on magnetic paper, no tape or adhesives. I would also suggest if you make them to put your room number on them, so if they disappear you will be able to find them easier. Sun, Sand and Tequila, I like the sound of that!!party: :drinking1

I do a 12x12 scrapbook page (or two) and mount them with strips of magnet. Then when we get home, just peel off the magnet and put them in my album.

I love that idea, then I would atleast have one or two pages of my scrapbook done. :thumbsup2

We have a magnetic clear plastic frame to put on the door. We print up pages and can change them out daily. Plus it helps to keep them from accidentally getting ripped and we can save them for scrapbooking later.
