We got back from our cruise/WDW late Sunday night, Dec 4th. We had a fantastic cruise, but the last week has been beyond tough. Monday (first day back to school for our ds14), 5 teens from his high school (New Oxford, PA) were killed in a horrific car accident leaving school. It's been awful, but the love and support of our community and neighboring communties has been astonishing. We've been to memorials, vigils and fundraisers all week. 4 funerals were today, one tomorrow. So sad and shocking.
We rebooked for a 11/30 Fantasy cruise with DH's extended family. They live all over the US and we only see them every 2 years while on cruises. We also booked the 4 of us on a 4 day Dream cruise and a 3 day Dream Cruise for Dec 2012 and Dec 2013 respectively that we intend to transfer for the 10% and OBC if another cruise we are interested in comes out for the Magic or Wonder in 2013. The deposits of $153 and $255 were unbeatable for the Dream cruises as "ghost" cruises.
We were very happy with our servers and room host, our Adventure Park excursion in Cozumel, the Old Town Conch Trolley tour in Key West, and the weather for most of the cruise. We enjoyed running into some of the staff we have met on past cruises (and were surprised they remembered our names!)Our boys had a fun time and enjoyed the Oceaneer's Lab and Vibe. The first couple days and last night were a little more rough ship movement wise than on most of our past
DCL cruises, but none of us actually got sick so we were happy with that. We had Palo dinner, brunch and high tea and enjoyed them all immensely. We really enjoyed the comedian/magicians/balloon guy and loved Disney Dreams. We enjoyed Twice Charmed and tried to love Villians Tonight, but it just remains not our favorite.
We stayed at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge before and after the cruise. We loved our villa/room and it continues to be our favorite resort. We went to all 4 parks here and there for our favorite rides and parades and some great meals (Crystal Palace twice, Chef Mickeys, Chef De France, Trails End and Whispering Canyon). We were pleasantly pleased with Trails End Buffet, which was our first meal at that restaurant.
We were thrilled we were able to see the Mars rocket launch and had a perfect view on the top of the DCL terminal parking garage. I hope everyone enjoyed their trip as much as we did!
