Convention or vacation? Have fun! Lots of great restaurants.

Convention (New Jersey State League of Municipalities). I always stay at the Tropicana. There's enough variety of food and drink to keep me busy for the week! I look forward to this week all year. I have an oceanview room which is nice because I have an inside room for the cruise. I'll look at the ocean now so that I don't have to worry about it on the ship!

Three days in the office next week, no oceanview there, and we leave Thanksgiving morning for our vacation.

We fly out 23-11-11 it takes us about 22 hrs to get from sydney to port canaveral the sleepless nights have started.

It's the biggest convention hosted in Atantic City. There will be more than 45,000 people by the end of the week. I staff the booth for the City of Long Branch, and it's a very long eight hours of standing and being nice to people each day!

I've started packing, so I am now, officially excited. We leave in 44 hours! Horray. Let the fun begin.

5 nights and a wake up until our flight. We just ended up booking a hotel for the night before our flight near the airport. It ended up being just slightly more to stay the night and get deep discounted parking for 14 days than it would have been to do the fast park parking for those days. We are so excited for the trip and glad we will now not have to wake up so early for our 9:40 flight. We have both our boys football banquets this weekend, the boys have school Monday, ds10 has wrestling practice and then we'll be off to the hotel.

We also lucked out and got a much better deal on our rental car this past week, saving almost $200. We will be staying at Kidani (Animal Kingdom Lodge) before and after the cruise. We are looking forward to some WDW park time, rest/relaxation time, a bit of shopping and good restaurants.

Second, I was doing the online check in and it asks me to select a port arrival time. I do not know what to put as we are using the DCL transfer from Saratoga Springs. What time should I select? There were choices from 1:30 PM on. Thanks!

Choose the earliest time available. If you are later than you were supposed to be no big deal. If you are earlier than you are supposed to be you may have to wait a while before you can board, but with DCL transfers you most likely won't get there until after boarding begins (at noon I think) anyway and then the waits are minimal. I have heard great things about Nachi Cocom and I reserved it for this trip. It will be our first time.

Hello Cruisers! Can you believe that I booked this cruise through DVC last minute and here we are? Amazing!!

This will be my first DCL experience. I have been browsing through the threads and it looks like there are going to be plently of people cruising with me.

Is there some formal meet and greet on this cruise?

We booked it too. Looking foward to it! Everything I've read online (here and elsewhere) says nothing but great thing about it!

Cannot believe we are so close though I have to say everytime I was reading that you're all leaving for WDW (or already have) I was totally jealous! We're going after, but I want to be there NOW!

We've started packing too and amazingly my DH packed too! Normally he's a wait til the last minute guy too! We are taking so many suitcases though! Holy Moly, I have no idea how we're getting them all there!??!

So excited! I've started packing already (so I don't forget anything).

We are flying into Orlando on Friday evening since prices were cheaper and we got an inexpensive hotel near the airport. We'll be taking the transfer bus to Port Canaveral on Sunday.

We're finishing up our packing today. It was pretty easy for me since a lot of my stuff (makeup, jewelry, hair stuff, etc.) was already packed from my business trip last week!

Today we're putting up our Christmas tree so that we don't have to do it when we get back. Then it's three days of work for each of us and on Thanksgiving morning we're heading out on vacation!

It seems like we waited a very long time for this to get here. Now I have to slow down and enjoy myself!

I managed to get my trees up (we have three) but only 1.5 are decorated. My husband is working on the outside lights today.

My daughter and I arrived in FL last night (visiting my parents) and Brian comes down on Tuesday night.

I am freaking out a bit. I just packed the fe stuff and it took my largest piece of luguage and weighs more than 50lbs! Luckily i am driving to port and not flying. This is my first fe. I wonder if i did something wrong. I didnt buy anything grandios. Is anyone else experiencing this?
