November 25th, 2016 - Black Friday on the Wonder

My family and I are taking our first Disney Cruise!! We are excited and have not told our kids (ages 8 and 4 at cruise time).. I am interested in the Fish Extenders and would like more info from someone that has participated in the past.
My husband, kids, my mom, my in laws, and a nephew will all be cruising on this trip. I have already downloaded images to make magnets for our doors!! Super excited!!

On page 3, post 44, I wrote a quick summary of what a FE is and what info I require. This is my 2nd time organizing so feel free to ask any questions.

FE is fish extender. There is a fish or some other item on the wall by your door. Disney uses it to deliver mail, we put an extender on it to receive gifts. It is kinda like Secret Santa, although most people mark who the gift is from, it is not required. Essentially, you get a list of cabins, who is in the cabin and maybe their fave characters. It is up to you if you do a cabin gift or a gift pp in the cabin. Sometime during the cruise you drop off your gift in each FE and others do the same to yours. That is my simple version of a FE, you can look it up and get tons of info, gift ideas and how to make/purchase an extender.
We have not started a FE list as this thread is not active and we don't seem to have much interest. I will start one if we have interest, but I have requirements.
1 - you must be at 10 posts so you can send/receive pm.
2 - I learned this lesson the hard way, so an email to receive the final list would be required. No personal info will be shared here and I will not share your email address.
If that did not scare you away from joining, I need info. You DO NOT have to use your name, it is not required, but I do need to know who is in the room. If it is mom, dad, a son and a daughter, it goes like this: mom is DW, dad is DD, son is DS and daughter is DD. Those are what you use unless it is something like 3 adult females and let it go at that. The only time your real name would be needed is if someone wants to make personalized gifts, and we will deal with that if it comes up.
Ok, after knowing all that, I only need 3 more things. Your room # is the most important! If there are kids in the room, I need ages as some people do gifts pp and want to give age appropriate items. The last info I would like is fave Disney characters for everybody. You do not have to give Disney only items for the FE, but some people try to find your characters to make it more special
I feel like I just wrote a book for everyone, so feel free to ask ANY questions. If you want to join the DIS boards ONLY(per their rules) FE, just let me know.

Are you asking the size of the extender itself? I think I had read somewhere that the angle of wall space it hangs on is maybe 10 or 11 inches wide. After that it will hang out into the hallway which isn't a big deal. Length is whatever you want, I think you have 5 feet or so to the floor.

Size is totally up to you. The pocket size of the extenders is sometimes an issue, but the I just put it against their door or find the stateroom attendant to take it inside. Just remember, whatever you choose to give, you have to get it to the ship. If you are local, no problems. I am flying in so I have luggage restrictions

I have heard of it happening although I have never had an issue. Maybe it depends on stateroom location I generally end up with more than my list as people like to pixie dust cabins for a variety of reasons.

There are a couple threads on here that you can get custom magnets done and then you just print them and put magnets on the back. Don't forget you can characterize your stateroom # on your door
