Hopefully, all the info to follow will help answer some questions and not scare anyone away from joining the DISboards only FE group.

For those that are interested in joining the FE, here are my rules and guidelines. The last group will be closed one month before the cruise and I will then start a latecomer’s group or a pixie dust group. Each group will stop at max of 10 cabins. If someone drops before the cruise, I will not replace them in a group. If the group had hit 10, it will stay closed.

Real names are not required – it is DW(Darling Wife), DH(Darling Husband), DD(Darling Daughter) and DS(Darling Son). For anyone who wants to make personalized gifts, let me know and I will see what I can do about getting real names.

Info required to join the FE is room #, who is in the room, ages of any kids and an email to send the final list to. Optional info is any allergies and favorite characters. The only person that will have your email is me and I will delete it from my contacts once we are back from the cruise. I will not share your email address unless you request it. I will send an email to all participants in each group as it closes. I will put directions in the email, but please look at the FE info and make sure it is correct. I will have everyone email me back to assure me they have received their email and everything is correct. After that, the only email you will get from me is if there are any changes in your FE group.

There is no spending limit(spend what you are comfortable with). Gifts can be per person or per cabin, your choice. There is no set day to deliver, just have everything delivered before Thursday(Dec. 1st) night.

I will let everyone know of any room changes up to 48 hrs. before the cruise, then I will be traveling to Texas and have limited access to the internet. After that you will either have to go door to door and drop off a note of any changes or I will have a whiteboard at my room to write any messages. Be aware that since I am not going to be in every FE group, most people will have no reason to check the board at my room.

Closer to the cruise we can maybe plan an onboard meet up on day 1 for anyone interested. If anyone is interested in being in charge of starting groups for mixology classes, an ornament exchange, a postcard exchange, a recipe exchange etc… feel free as I am only doing the FE.

As always, I will try to check this thread daily so feel free to ask any questions.

HI everyone. this will be my 4th Disney Cruise. I went on the one last year right after Thanksgiving. It was a very merry Christmas cruise. It was
fantastic. I did not get to do the FE club, but would love to join one this year.

Will this cruise have a Christmas theme, too?

FE is fish extender. There is a fish or some other item on the wall by your door. Disney uses it to deliver mail, we put an extender on it to receive gifts. It is kinda like Secret Santa, although most people mark who the gift is from, it is not required. Essentially, you get a list of cabins, who is in the cabin and maybe their fave characters. It is up to you if you do a cabin gift or a gift pp in the cabin. Sometime during the cruise you drop off your gift in each FE and others do the same to yours. That is my simple version of a FE, you can look it up and get tons of info, gift ideas and how to make/purchase an extender.
We have not started a FE list as this thread is not active and we don't seem to have much interest. I will start one if we have interest, but I have requirements.
1 - you must be at 10 posts so you can send/receive pm.
2 - I learned this lesson the hard way, so an email to receive the final list would be required. No personal info will be shared here and I will not share your email address.
If that did not scare you away from joining, I need info. You DO NOT have to use your name, it is not required, but I do need to know who is in the room. If it is mom, dad, a son and a daughter, it goes like this: mom is DW, dad is DD, son is DS and daughter is DD. Those are what you use unless it is something like 3 adult females and let it go at that. The only time your real name would be needed is if someone wants to make personalized gifts, and we will deal with that if it comes up.
Ok, after knowing all that, I only need 3 more things. Your room # is the most important! If there are kids in the room, I need ages as some people do gifts pp and want to give age appropriate items. The last info I would like is fave Disney characters for everybody. You do not have to give Disney only items for the FE, but some people try to find your characters to make it more special
I feel like I just wrote a book for everyone, so feel free to ask ANY questions. If you want to join the DIS boards ONLY(per their rules) FE, just let me know.

DCL hasn't announced it yet, but the MerryTime cruises start in November and run through Christmas. The tree and the gingerbread house done Disney style.

This will be Disney cruise #5 for us and the best tip is don't over plan. You won't be able to do everything so enjoy what you can. The previous couple pages also hold tips on buying discounted gift cards and links to request personalized magnets to decorate your door. Random things run through my head and I try to pass on anything I think is useful.

I guess most people have princesses I would also never tell a boy he couldn't play with "girl" toys, gotta be pc nowadays This is why I ask fave characters as optional info cause you just never know.

Yes, and I think they may still do the officer trading, but I would have to look at my old Navigators for sure though.
