Hello, my family of 4 (7yo girl, 4yo girl) will be taking our first Disney cruise on this sailing. Wife and I cruised many times, but never on Disney. Preemptive thanks for all the tips and tricks!

FE is fish extender. There is a fish or some other item on the wall by your door. Disney uses it to deliver mail, we put an extender on it to receive gifts. It is kinda like Secret Santa, although most people mark who the gift is from, it is not required. Essentially, you get a list of cabins, who is in the cabin and maybe their fave characters. It is up to you if you do a cabin gift or a gift pp in the cabin. Sometime during the cruise you drop off your gift in each FE and others do the same to yours. That is my simple version of a FE, you can look it up and get tons of info, gift ideas and how to make/purchase an extender.
We have not started a FE list as this thread is not active and we don't seem to have much interest. I will start one if we have interest, but I have requirements.
1 - you must be at 10 posts so you can send/receive pm.
2 - I learned this lesson the hard way, so an email to receive the final list would be required. No personal info will be shared here and I will not share your email address.
If that did not scare you away from joining, I need info. You DO NOT have to use your name, it is not required, but I do need to know who is in the room. If it is mom, dad, a son and a daughter, it goes like this: mom is DW, dad is DD, son is DS and daughter is DD. Those are what you use unless it is something like 3 adult females and let it go at that. The only time your real name would be needed is if someone wants to make personalized gifts, and we will deal with that if it comes up.
Ok, after knowing all that, I only need 3 more things. Your room # is the most important! If there are kids in the room, I need ages as some people do gifts pp and want to give age appropriate items. The last info I would like is fave Disney characters for everybody. You do not have to give Disney only items for the FE, but some people try to find your characters to make it more special
I feel like I just wrote a book for everyone, so feel free to ask ANY questions. If you want to join the DIS boards ONLY(per their rules) FE, just let me know.

Hi! We just booked this cruise today. We are super excited! We are a family of four. Our daughters will be 6 and 12 when Cruise time hits. The FE sounds super fun. I will get to commenting, so our family can be included on the list. Thanks for the info.

I should let everyone know that these will be small groups for the FE at 10 rooms per group. We generally have first timers here and I don't want to overwhelm anyone. You are more than welcome to join multiple groups if you feel up to it though!

We haven't started a list yet for the FE, but generally the participants DIS names will be posted here and all private info (such as room #) will be sent via pm or email. You will have to have your posts up to 10 to use the pm feature though.

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions, etc.).

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread.

No, that's not what I was doing. I had asked to be included in this forum for FE and was just letting you all I don't need to be included now. Gee whiz, I'm just learning - please cut me a little slack!!!
