November 25, 2012: Mexican Riviera on the Wonder

Just wanted to confirm that the Hoke family is still in for the FE! :) Thanks for all the organizing!

I have a countdown app on my iPhone and it's getting so close! We are driving down early so we can spend Thanksgiving at the Disneyland Resort. We have reservations for Thanksgiving dinner at the Paradise Pier Hotel and will probably go to the parks for a day or two even though it's going to be crazy crowded. (I can't drive this close to Disneyland and not go!) Anyway, my app is saying 26 days! I've got a lot of work to do before then! :yay:

Info on shipping pkg to ship. The address is for FL so I'm thinking I would just have to find the address for CA.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many people find with the airlines restricting the amount of luggage you can have it is easier and cheaper to send a box of your items to the cruise ship. It is a great way to save room and weight in your luggage when you ship a box containing your Pirate costumes, diapers and baby supplies, snorkel gear, beach toys, etc. Before you ship anything, please be aware of the guidelines below.
Courtesy of the DIS Cruise Board
One box per stateroom, no exceptions.
The package must have the guest's full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned.
The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 pounds.
Address your package to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name/Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what your room number is)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196
In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:
ATTN: Housekeeping
Name
Sail Date
Ship
Stateroom Number
Packing slip
Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00 PM for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic. (Saturday)
Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00 PM for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder. (Sunday)
Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00 PM for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday)
If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing forbidden is in it, then it will be in your room as usual after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later than the rest of your luggage.
Also found this idea......might be easier for us as we are staying at the Marriott the night before.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you want to ship more than 1 box / 20 pounds here is something else we have done. If you are staying at a hotel the night before your cruise, ship your boxes to that hotel. They will be there when you arrive, and then you can take them with you to the ship. You can tag them like any other luggage, and are not limited to the restrictions you get when shipping straight to the ship.

If you need additional luggage tags, the baggage handlers at the port will have extras available.

Ok the count down is now on - We just requested our Dining Rotation starting with Animator's Palate - This must be our most favorite resturant in the rotation. If we get our request we will get to dine here three times on this cruisepixiedust:

I was wondering, do they do the changing from black and white to color every night in AP? Or just the first time in your rotation?

I was wondering, do they do the changing from black and white to color every night in AP? Or just the first time in your rotation?

I think it depends on what the theme/menu is. I believe that the Golden Mickey's is on the first or second night I don't think that they do the "show" in AP on the nights where there is a theme and all the restaurants serve the same menu. So if your first night in AP was the GMs then you would likely have the show on your second time there. I requested PTTAPTA with my second night at Parrot Cay being spent at Palo. We'll see if I get it.

I hope that they keep a schedule similar to last year's MR cruises. I have PDFs of all the Navigators from a friend on mine who went on one. I sort of planned my guidelines of my itinerary based on that and other Navigators I saw posted last year.

On the ornament exchange do they need to be wrapped?

Does anyone know when the first MR cruise of the season sets sail? I want to look out for TRs!!!

Just confirming Harmony, Sarah and Jayanne's groups. Here is more specific info. Could you please update the spreadsheet. Thanks. Also Saunders and Sorensen's are doing the ornament exchange as well. Thanks. I decided to do personalized items and figured maybe exact names/ages would be helpful. So here they are. We have 3 other rooms with us as well that are not doing FE. Should be a party.

Just received my luggage tags from DCL, so getting more excited!!!:cool1:

Anyone know how to find out what movies will be showing? Just curious if Frankenweenie and Wreck It Ralph will be playing.

I've read somewhere that there's a number you can call, but I took this info from a post from the cruise meet thread for Thanksgiving week on the Wonder.

"Movies:
Brave
Avengers
Odd Life of Timothy Green
People Like Us
Chimpanzee
John Carter
Warhorse
The Muppets
The Help
Cars 2
Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides
and, although they would not confirm it, "Wreck It Ralph" should also play since it comes out November 2."

Hi :flower3:

Just booked this morning. We are a family of four from SF Bay Area. 6th Disney cruise, first time to Mexico.

John (DH)
Jen (me)
Max (9)
Nico (7)

Hope there's still time to sign up for Fish extender. :genie:

Just read back and saw Fish Extender closed. If anyone doesn't confirm and you can squeeze us on the list that'd be great. Otherwise, completely understand.

Is the ornament exchange still open?

Hi and welcome - Yes I will add you to the ornament exhange. It is white elphant style so just bring your ornament wrapped for everyone in your family that would like to join. If a summary is not posted prior to the cruise I am planning on the exchange on monday or tuesday afternoon. I did not want to cross with any other activities.:banana:

While we are in for the FEE, I'm going to decline on the ornament exchange just because I don't quite understand the terms of it. I'm confused as to whether or not there is one ornament per family or per person and when it will take place, I think it will be better to just back out of the ornament exchange to simplify things. I have a feeling it will be difficult enough to get together our FE gifts.

Thanks so much! An ornament exchange sounds like lots of fun and this trip will be our official "kick off the holiday season" trip. I've never been on a Disney cruise during the holidays, so definitely looking forward to it.

Now I have so much to get ready. Trying to decide if I need to get the our passports renewed (they have expired). I know it's a good idea, but not sure it's necessary. Any one have any thoughts here?

Hope everyone is enjoying their last minute preparations for the cruise.

Have a great day!:wizard:

This is a confirmation that the Alejo Family is still joining the FEE.

Let us know if the ornament exchange is a go or not.

Thanks!
