November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

I just read through several Navigators including for the Fantasy and I didnt see any dessert buffet late at night like they use to have.:sad1:

They do have a nice selection at the Pirate party as Jon said above.

Guess that is one thing they have changed. Too bad it was fun.

Great to have more fun people to join in here.:thumbsup2

I am Kathy and hubby is Greg.

What are your names??

We have a meet the first day at 3 in the Vista Lounge where we can all meet face to face. Hope to see all of you there.

Kathy

I am Becky, Hubby is Chris, son is Logan. We are from Charleston SC. I think I may be slightly (ok WAY) more excited for this cruise than my 3 year old.

Looking forward to the meet up!:goodvibes

I booked the dolphin encounter in Cozumel.

What is Tropicante that everyone is talking about? Is that the private beach area that I have heard about. The one that you have to leave the port and take a short taxi trip to get to? I heard that is nice but cant remember the name. Is that something that is booked through DIsney Cruise line or somewhere else.

Im a newbie and trying to figure out what to do.:flower3:

As far as the dolphin encounter that I reserved, I am a bit nervous as my son is 3 and not really swimming, it says that you stand on a platform and " meet the dolphins" Do you think thye would let me bring his floaties just in case.

ALl kids and adults are life vested, yea u can bring floaties , they might say something, they might not :)
Tropicante is not thru DCL, its a restaurant right on the beach yes short taxi away like 5 mins. Dolphins are so fun!! :)
do u have just 3yo, or other kids? welcome!!

I booked a dolphin encounter with my 3 year old DD, she can't really swim either :) my dad will be going in the water with her, I saw pictures where the little kids have life vests on(and adults too), but we are doing the Costa Maya dolphin encounter, not sure how it works in Cozumel...

My wife Karen and I were chatting about how do we recognize all our new Dis Board and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/282843311785591/) friends on the Cruise. Of course I reminded her about the meet-n-greet at 3pm on the 24th. She said fine and dandy but are you really going to remember 40 plus families and wondered if there is anything cooked up that we can use for identification. I had no answer, does anyone else? :wave2:

We have always just done the meet. Then you will remember lots of faces but not the names. It seems there are usually 4 or 5 people from the meet you keep running into for the week and will say hi to.

I dont know of anything else to remember people by.:confused3

I just smile and greet anyone who is looking friendly towards me and figure they must be from the Dis.:goodvibes

Kathy

Thanks for telling me your name Becky,
it's great to know your name.

Looking forward to meeting you and your family at the meet.:littleangel:

i can birng "My Name is" tags :) -- with ur disname/real name. and we stick them on. so for that 1 hr we spend meet-n-greeting, u can see who is who!!:p

Otherwise all week i had to re ask whast ur name? like a parrot. :joker:

Dolphin encounter in Grand Cayman with the turtle farm afterwards. Would love to do the swim, but I can not miss the opportunity of seeing my DD3 with the Dolphins.

Cozumel - nothing at this point.

Costa Maya - hanging out at Tropicante

Castaway Cay - hanging out at the beach

jon

I am doing the same excision in Grand Cayman w/ my 4 yr old son, but have been considering canceling as I have heard you have to sometimes wait for hours in a little area and he doesn't have the patience for that? Have you heard anything about this??

I am terrible at names too.

I usually have 2 or 3 who I will remember their names but thats all.

But i figure thats ok because people wont remember me either:rotfl2:

I always try to sign my names to my posts to help people to remember my name.

Hello Cruise mates! I have been snooping the site, but not posting in a while. Of course we are looking forward to meeting all of you and reuniting with others I have cruised with previously.

It is a rainy day in central Florida and a high of only 80 degrees. BRRRRRR.....

I like the concept though! I am horrible at names. Faces I recognize better for sure. And I KNOW I am more excited than my 6 yr old and she is over the moon!

I have one space in the closet for my cruise clothes. That makes its easier to pack for me too. 10 to 15 minutes and i am good to go.:thumbsup2

Howver I did discover a problem the other day that I have to remedy before I can pack.

Some how while my cruise clothes were waiting for the next crusie they seem to have shrank?:rolleyes1
It must be the humidity here in Florida during the summer because I had to give them all away to a charity because they don't fit anymore:confused3

It's one of those myseries of life and I may never know what caused them to shrink.:rotfl2:

So next week I need to go clothes shopping for clothes to wear to dinner and shorts.

Kathy

As someone once told me, there are little critters called "calories" who live in your closet and every night will eat the threads in your clothing causing shrinkage.... :-)
