November 21, 2010 Wonder 3 day - FE Info Post #70

You must be on the ship before 4pm. Boarding usually begins at noon, give or take a few minutes. Mandatory lifeboat drill starts at 4pm, which lasts apparoximately 10-15 minutes. Following the drill, you can head to the sail away party which ends before 5pm.

We like to board around noon so as to take advantage of spending the day on the ship. As soon as you board, lunch is available in two restaurants, Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket. On deck 9, you can get "fast food" at Pluto's Dog House, Goofy's Galley and Pinocchio's Pizzeria. Since this is your first cruise and first time aboard the Wonder, you can spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful ship.

As for debarkation, you are scheduled for breakfast in the dining room where you had dinner the night before. There are two assigned times, depending on whether you were main or late dinner seating. As an alternative, breakfast buffet is available at Beach Blanket. Also, Cove Cafe is open that morning for coffee/tea and pastries. Room service is not available the day we debark. I am usually off the ship by 8:15 or 8:30 am. Debarkation is an fast, easy process, other than not wanting to get off the ship!!!

Hope this info helps and doesn't confuse you!

That was perfectly clear Jan! Thanks very much!

Just checking in, our four days at the Parks in July were Fantasmic!, and it was actually cooler weather the night of the show than when we were there in Oct to watch- go figure- FL weather is crazy although during the day it quite hot!. Enjoyed Summer nighttastic and the electrical parade on Friday night and did the HoopDe Do Revue on Sat night- very funny and entertaining, but now that my passes to the parks have expired:eek: I'm in full cruise mode. Just paid off the cruise this weekend:cool1::cool1::banana::banana: and am counting down to the 90 day mark so we can book Palo:love::love:. We are not planning to do any excursions this cruise, in the past we have done the Dolphin encounter and Parasailing at Castaway Cay- this time we're just gonna chill and enjoy.

See you all soon!:dance3:

Glad you had a great time at WDW. I've been there several times in July and it is hot, hot, hot!!!

This cruise, we have no excursions planned. On the 11/18/10 cruise, my DH and I might book a beach excursion not too far from the dock. Found it using Google and the cost was reasonable.

Sorry Gina! I put you on one list but not on the excel spreadsheet. I've sent it to you now!

I'm starting to get really excited for this cruise!! We are so in need of a vacation- again! :lmao:

Has anyone else done Universal Orlando before? We've never been, and are braving it (gasp!) Thanksgiving weekend. Any tips would be appreciated.

Haven't done Universal yet. We are avoiding WDW post-cruise. We're booked at the Country Inn & Suites in Cocoa Beach for 2 days post-cruise, hoping for warm weather and sun.

Thanks! No prob! I got it! :cool1:

As for Universal.... it has been several years but we have done it many times, never Turkey weekend but we have in the summer. UGH! Anyway... The regular park (not islands of adventure) has several popular rides (the few they have...lol) and so you should take those in first:

E.T.
Jaws
The coasters that are there now?

**Back to the Future and King Kong used to be there which were really cool but I believe they are gone. :confused3

I have been to Islands of Adventure once... was not crazy about it, however I would LOVE to see the Harry Potter part so we may fit it in sometime soon. BUT... of course the coasters are popular but Spiderman is a MUST-DO and really is something you should do twice.... I am surprised Disney hasnt picked up on that technology. :sad2: Its amazing! Jurassic Park is pretty cool... but if you look around and see people in ponchos its because you will get soaked... so go prepared.

BUT... do not expect much as far as the park itself. Us Disney lovers are very spoiled and I am always disappointed when I see Universal. They have improved a lot and added alot, and I am sure you will enjoy it, but is is a place we only tend to visit oh.... once every 5-7 years. Maybe with Disney owning Marvel now there will be a takeover?? Let's hope so!

Quick, post more on the test boards! Or get busy and ask some questions. I don't want to send out emails or family/cabin #s on the boards where anyone can see.

We just did Universal at the end of July, mainly to see Harry Potter. The best thing we did was to stay on Universal property. It's expensive, but well worth it because it gave us front of the line access to every ride and show expect one roller coaster (Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket) and HP's Forbidden Journey. We had 3 day tickets, but really only needed 2 days. We did most things once and several things multiple times. We skipped the shows and the wet rides, so I guess we could have used 3 days if we'd been interested in that. You can get 2 days of front of the line access with just booking one night. We checked in at 7 am and were given our room key. They stored our luggage. PM me if you want more details.

Is everyone getting excited??? I was just sorting through my goodies from our last cruise. I need to buy my mom a fish extender. She's going with us and staying (hopefully) across the hall. I'm going to start planning our fish extender gifts soon too. My girls and I are going to do it for my mom so we need to come up with 2 goodie bags per cabin. Last time we cruised I found more ideas than I could possibly use, so here's my chance. :)

Ok I need some help. We are not taking the Dis bus back to the airport. Our flight doesn't leave until 6:45 so we are going to do some shopping at downtown disney so we want to rent a car. Can anyone tell me what car rental companies will pick us up at the port? We don't want to have to travel an hour to get to the rental facility so one close to port would be great. We rented a car before but I can't remember for the life of me who we used. :confused3 I think it was Enterprise? Anyone know? Thanks!

This will be our family's first cruise and we can't wait. (We are having a mini family reunion. There will be 9 of us in three cabins.) Can somebody tell me when is the best time to board the ship on Sunday? Also, regarding the fish extenders, do we need little gifts for each day of the cruise? I feel like I have a million questions. I am so happy I found this site/thread!

As I still await an answer to my question I will answer yours! :goodvibes

I believe they start letting people in the actual port around 11. Typically they open the ship between noon and 1 so you can board the. However, your rooms will not be ready till about 3. We like to get on board and go have lunch and just check out the ship. Then at 3 we will go to our rooms and get a little situated but you probably wont get your luggage until we leave port or a little after.

I like to be on the ship as soon as I can so I get to enjoy it for as long as possible! :goodvibes

This will be my 1st 3-day cruise. I have done two 4-days and three 7-days. I know you will love it.

As far as the Fish Extenders, I am new to it as this will be the first time I do it but I believe you get one gift per person in the group. And you disperse them as you see fit. I guess sometimes the person organizing it will organize who gives to who on what day so you get something everyday? Not quite sure yet how ours is going to work. :confused3
