Update: This thread now includes a November 2014 PTR! but it will still be my September 2015 PTR too.

Hi there!
I have been stalking the boards for a while now, and I am so excited to finally be making my own post, even if no one ever follows along. But it would be great if you did and sat there with your popcorn (: As this being my first pre-trip report, it may be a little all over the place, so bare with me!

First off, my family cast of characters:
Me: Victoria, 24. I've gone to Disney multiple times with my parents and I love it! My last trip was way too long ago for my 18th birthday, and I am so excited to be heading back and seeing all the new changes! *this will not be a thread of selfies, it's just the only picture of me in my new phone, swear! Lol*

Fiancé: Ryan, 24. My partner in crime. His first and only trip to disney was for my 18th birthday, so his love for the parks hasn't blossomed yet. I told him I was making a trip report and he said "it's lines, lunch, more lines, dinner, more lines, fireworks, sleep, repeat."

William, 6. The firstborn. He has recently become a fan of Tarzan thanks to Netflix, hence my quote for the title. He loves drawing, is excited for Buzz&Woody, and has a major sweet tooth. I see much cotton candy in his future. He had his first disney trip with my parents last year for his 5th birthday, but this will be the first time we go as a family.

Elizabeth, 2. The princess. She is obsessed with shoes, and recently grew out of her Cinderella heels that we have been meaning to replace. She sings to Sofia, and also has a sweet tooth, though I'm thinking she will be more in favor of all the chocolates. This will be her first trip!

Logan, brand new! He will be 1 by the time we make our trip, but for now, he's fresh, not even a month old yet! He will be our main reason for breaks mid day to take naps, and why Fantasyland will probably be our most visited spot.

When?
As of right now, we're planning a trip for September 2015. Ideally, we would go the last week, which creeps into October. We haven't officially decided because A) the packages haven't been released so we are ready and waiting for them on July 31st..and B) when the dining plan discounts are released for next year, we will adjust our dates to make sure we fall in the right check in dates. You may be thinking "why is she making a report over a year in advance?" But hey, a family of 5 takes a lot of planning, and as you'll see in my future posts, I've pretty much set most of our itinerary and ADR preferences up (:

Where?
Our #1 choice is Caribbean Beach. I briefly thought about Art of Animation, but I was considering the family suites, which from what I've seen, are generally more expensive than the basic rooms at CB. One thing that drew me to CB as my choice was also the zero entry pool for the kids. VERY important since we will spend some time relaxing at the resort.
Our #2 choice is Pop Century. We could save money at Pop, and I like that it has it's own bus vs the other value resorts, but its still not my favorite.

Why?
Because we love Disney, of course! We will also be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary as a family, and where could be more magical?

Well, that's all for my first post, but I'm excited to have you guys along to help us have the best first family trip ever! Next post: Basic Itinerary.

Congratulations on the birth of Logan! :goodvibes also if I read your post right you're just about to get married too? Wow, what a full year you've got! I'd plan that far out too if I had that much going on! :rotfl:

I liked the idea of the zero entry pool too, but I think we're going to go with BWV so we're walking distance to Epcot and DHS, that way if one of us is stuck in the room with a sleeping baby, the other can go exploring my themselves.

Thank you! Yes, 2014 has most definitely been good to us! I'm actually not normally much of a planner, besides daily mom juggling like who can shuffle who to soccer practice while the other goes to tumbling class, haha.

BWV is so nice! I wasn't actually too excited about Epcot until I really started reading about it. There is so much to do there that people don't give credit for! How old will your baby be when you go? Hopefully it's before me so you can give me some tips! Lol (:

Hi :wave2:

Saw in our FB group that you started a PTR, so I figured I would join in and read along.

Congrats on your new baby!

Looking forward to seeing what dates & resort you choose.

I have young kids and a curious on the ADR's you are planning on as well.

Yay! Hi!
I'm excited that we're all crazy together and getting started a year in advance, haha!

I change my mind on resorts literally everyday. Since I'm going to be teaching in two years, it will be the only time we get to go during value season so I feel we should do AoA suites. But then again it will be our only trip where we can still get away with only needing a room for 4 so we should save and do Pop. But CB has a pool my kids would love and the rooms are a little bigger for not much more money. Ahh!!

My must do ADRs are:
Hollywood&Vine (lunch)
Chef Mickeys (dinner)
Hoop-Dee-Doo (dinner)
Akershus (breakfast)

But we are going 9 nights, and doing the DDxP so I think we will get more than our share of good dining choices!

Trip update!

Well, more like an unexpected addition..

First, I finally figured out I can only change my font on the desktop site so I will TRY to make most my updates in purple to standout. Second, I am still trying to figure out the picture thing. So boo on that. Haha.

Third, and most important, Ryan approved of a last minute trip to the world for November! Yay! I was dying to see the Christmas lights, it's the only time of year we never went when I was growing up. So we are headed that way November 28-December 2nd! It's a super short trip being only 4 nights, but we will make it count!

The plan so far:

Friday, Nov 28
Check in around 2pm
Get settled, explore Pop.
ADR Chef Mickeys 4:35 (!!!!*)
Go to DTD and shop around
Sleep!

Saturday, Nov 29
EMH 8am Hollywood Studios
FP choices: Disney Jr Live, Toy Story Mania, Fantasmic
ADR Hollywood&Vine 12:35
Hotel, nap
Back to HS for Osbourne Family of Lights

Sunday, Nov 30
ADR O'hana 10:35am
Resort hop to see Christmas decor
Hotel, pool, nap, lunch
MVMCP @ 4!
FP choices: 7DMT, Peter Pan, Enchanted tales with Belle
Pecos Bill for dinner

Monday, Dec 1
Rope drop MK
FP choices: Splash Mountain, Fairytale Hall, Little Mermaid
ADR: Whispering Canyon 1:30pm
Hotel, nap
Back to MK until Wishes
Cosmic Rays for dinner?
(MK closes at midnight)

Tuesday, Dec 2
Checkout, go home!

My (!!!*) for chef mickeys was that it was SO HARD to get! Since we just decided and we are only 100 days out, most the dining reservations were taken and chef mickeys was booked solid. I've been looking everyday and today finally found a spot for 4:35! It isn't ideal because it's a little early for dinner, but at least it's something and we can fill up and then grab something light or snackish at downtown disney later that night.

I'm so so excited!!!! I feel like this trip will help me in choosing a resort for September 2015 and how long the littles will last in the parks before becoming monsters :rotfl:

CONGRATS!!!!!! Soooo sooo exciting for an unexpected trip so soon! I would love to see all the Christmas decorations some day.

Your kids are super adorable, BTW.

Your plans look awesome, and hooray for getting a Chef Mickey's ADR!

I know! :cheer2: I couldn't believe he said yes! My oldest already knows about our trip next year, but this one is going to be a complete surprise! At first I thought about waking them up and yelling "We're going to Disney today!" But that won't work because we are leaving right after Thanksgiving brunch. I'll have to stalk the boards for cute ideas.

I ordered these adorable shirts today! I almost did tie dye but when I saw the holiday lights on the castle I just HAD to get these! Trying to make a list of what I need to get before we go, but nothing is really coming to mind except some cute Hawaiian shirts and dresses for our O'hana breakfast.

Well, here is my dilemma.
I wanted an 8am Crystal Palace so badly. Being in the park while empty is so amazing. But being 100 days out, I knew it was unlikely. Thanks to my diligent morning checks of MDE I have managed to snag the infamous 8am slot, BUT....
It's on our MVMCP day. I am in no way planning on using a park ticket that day. So...here's to hoping we can extend our trip, or that another 8am opens up. It's like playing cat and mouse!

So yesterday, my son lost his first tooth! And he was so excited this morning that the tooth fairy had come to visit! We also got a postcard from his new teacher, which I thought was adorable!

Also... This little man turns two months on Saturday. I just can't get enough of him!

A surprise trip sounds awesome, I want to surprise my kids some day too. My parents surprised my siblings and I with a trip to DL and it was by far my favorite.

Love Love your shirts!!! So perfect!!

I hope you are able to snag a bettter 8am Crystal Palace ADR or even better add another day ;)

Ahh, first tooth lost...so cool! I love seeing kids smile with missing teeth, I think it's so cute. My DD and I are anxiously awaiting for her to lose her first tooth. She keeps checking to see if any are wiggly. LOL. Looks like the tooth fairy was good to your son!

That postcard is a really neat touch!

Your baby is seriously adorable!!
