November 2013 - Car Rental Rates/Codes

The prices are for picking up at MCO (Orlando) at least for me the are maybe someone is using Sanford or Tampa or a hotel pickup ( but in Florida)

Orlando has fierce competition in the rental car market, hence prices get driven down. Other big cities (Newark, New York, San Francisco, Chicago) are almost always going to have higher rental car rates. Sometimes much higher.

uh-oh.... I have a booked rate w/Alamo for my dates for 162.00 total, but not sure if I used a code to book it at this point,(just wanted to have something) now I see Budget is over 400.00 for the same....Alamo w/no codes is 232.00- It's only 3 days, but it's a 'one way' so still looking.....so far I haven't found a code for what I need, hoping to NOT keep it on a Sat. overnight

The first time I did it was picking up in Newark. Just tried again, full size, picking up from Iselin, 14 days, and its giving me $681.81.

You did say your price was for 14 days, right?

Thanks zamboniman, yes, the prices are for MCO pickup. Sorry but I had just assumed this is where pickups would be. Well, problem solved why the prices are so vastly different! lol

Makes complete sense now!!! I thought I read you were leaving from Newark. Yeah, we rent a car and drive down. Can't see putting all that wear and tear on our own vehicle. I was so excited about your rate!!! Lol back to the drawing board!!!!

Yeah, sorry about that, I did mention I left from Newark but I meant I leave flying from EWR to MCO lol. No problems, I hope you can still find a better rate before departing and have a safe drive down! :)

Yeah makes sense!!! Glad you got a great rate! Thanks for sharing the code. Thanks and enjoy your flight!!

Thanks for the tip about Firefly!

Got 5 days compact car first week of Nov. for $92. Closer to what Alamo used to be when you used codes. Hopefully it will be a good experience.

I booked Firefly (backed by Hertz). For Nov 13-18, mid size (Dodge avenger or similar) for $97.08.

Wow Firefly's rates are pretty good. Anybody have any coupon codes for them yet?

I hate renting from Advantage (which is essentially what Firefly is, re-named and sold/bought from the sounds of it), but if its the only company offering a decent price for my 9 days ... guess I can deal with poor customer service and a less than squeaky clean car. (I truly don't mind older/worn cars, as long as they run smoothly and are clean. Maybe this re-branding will mean I'll have a better experience with this company?)

$194 including taxes and fees for 9 days is about the highest I'm willing to spend (would have been okay with using ME and a $200 taxi budget if I couldn't find one for under that amount).

I'll hang on to this reservation for now and hope Enterprise or any of the majors come down in price.

Budget has some great pricing right off their home page.

$17 per day for compact + taxes and fees
$22 per day for small SUV + taxes and fees

I just booked 8 days SUV for Nov. Final price was $238

UPDATE: Rebooked with Dollar City Special this morning. $173 for full size.

It also showed when I booked I was eligible for a $20 rebate - but I didn't click on it. Anyone know what that rebate is all about?

Hi everyone, first post. I've been visiting Disney World since I was a child and now that I have a child of my own we've been visiting quite a bit. I've probably been 30+ times in total.

Anyways, I wanted to share for those going this November I just got a very good rate at Alamo this morning.

Signing in under the Alamo Insiders and using code AD2338FDF I scored a full size for 14 days (November 13 - 27) for $282 total with all taxes/surcharges etc. Of course small sized vehicles were even less!

Back in April I got Alamo for 8 days full size for $152 which I thought was amazing and this one is almost as good, so just wanted to pass it along. I've been keeping track for weeks now and this so far is the best price I have received during my dates. I prefer Alamo to other companies simply because I can pick whichever car I like in the isle. It's nice never getting the same model twice, even visiting 2 & 3 times a year.
The prices have dropped again for Alamo all. The reservation I spoke of above for $282 I just picked up for $258! Just make sure you are logged into your Alamo insiders account and use the code I also mentioned above. Still a little more than traveling out of the airport but I'll spend it to get the car that much quicker and also be with Alamo where you can choose any vehicle in a classes isle. Plus I never did it before but now I can skip the counter totally, and just go straight to the garage, pick a car and show the paperwork I just printed to the booth agent. Good luck all, hope everyone finds some great deals for wherever you choose to rent!

Just got 10 day in a fullsize Nov 14th-23rd with Alamo for $165. using coupon code AD2338FDF and the Insiders discount. I am exceptionally happy with this price! It gives me really high hopes that I'll get it down to an incredible rate a few weeks out. Thanks to everyone for posting!

I'm still trying to find a good deal for my dates, 11/25-12/6 from MCO 2pm to 2pm. Alamo today is showing a Mid-Size for $383 and that is using the insiders and the coupon previously mentioned. Help!

Nice work!! We were also able to get a Great Deal for 188 for 11 days in Nov!!

Is there a company specific list of discounts and codes here?
