November 2013 - Car Rental Rates/Codes

I've got a standard car for 11/25-12/6 booked with Dollar that I got through car rental savers and it was $214 total. That was about a month ago I got that rate and ever since it's been at least $50-$100 higher,

My advice is to check every day sometimes the rate will even change from morning to night. Prices seem to be staying high right now :confused3

Same here 205 all fees about a month back, all rates are higher now.

That was for a 10 day rental...

That's what I've been seeing too. Hopefully come Nov 1st they'll drop a bit pixiedust:

Got my minivan down to $551 Alamo for my 14 day trip from October 26-November 10 using Carrentalsavers and $25 off coupon AD2845VAN

edit: used Sunpromo and got it down to $546

I checked again today and my rates have not changed at National using KLM code.

We are flying in to Tampa 11/9 - 11/16 and after watching to prices stick at about $600 for a minivan for months. I just reserved a minivan with dollar for $237 ! :thumbsup2 I realize I just needed to listen to the advice from these boards that the prices will drop 3-4 weeks out. Next vacation I won't even think about the car rental until closer to travel time. I used car rental savers and checked all car types. Budget seems to have price drops in almost all their car categories now. Good luck.

I did a little bit more coupon testing and I actually just got a lower rate for 11/9-11/16. $213 for a mini van with Budget and they do not charge extra for spouses driving. I used coupon code MUWZ059 from Mouse Savers for $30 off and a Southwest BCD code U072756 that I found on a previous thread while I was reading about Dollar. I am now officially done looking as I am thrilled with this rate :thumbsup2. Now, if I could only get a BOG reservation!!

Dollar city special has been the best deal for me so far, I'm really surprised Alamo hasn't dropped !! I've always had the best rate through Alamo for all my trips :confused3

It's 2 AM and I just checked Alamo's site. Prices have dropped for Nov 17-27 on all car types. Unfortunately, the prices are still higher than my midsize for $205 with a free upgrade to standard (full size at MCO).

Is anyone else have trouble finding a minivan rental? Specifically from Dollar...

We have one reserved, but I've been reading about the city special and wanted to see if the rates have dropped.

Hope these late November/early December rates start dropping soon.

Rates for a non-Disney trip to Boston in mid-November dropped big-time for me through Dollar. Like 40% drop! Hoping to see that for the MCO rates :thumbsup2

Dates are 11/28-12/7

Thanks. I was able to rebook using the same coupons for 11/21-11-/28. I am now down to $173 with the free upgrade to standard/ full size. Still higher then past trips, but getting better. Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

MCO 11/17-23

Looks like prices are finally dropping everywhere. Alamo is quoting me $191 online, and $171 over the phone ($158 with Insiders, and I plan on adding a Discover partner cashback certificate for $40).

Enterprise has also, dropped to $177 for my 9 days and I have a few free upgrade certificates with them, also = can use a $40 Discover cashback certificate over there!

Hmm ... decisions, decisions. Cheaper with a smaller car (economy) or get the mid-size for $20 more with a company I am familiar with and like.

What did you use to get the upgrade to standard/full size? If I could get even mid-size or standard I'd totally go for Alamo over Enterprise.

My prices with Alamo haven't changed. I'm doing a one-way from Miami at the end of November. Maybe that's why??? Or, maybe I have to wait a little longer.

There is a coupon for a FREE Upgrade AU5235ASJ. Only valid on some categories - economy, compact and midsize, I think. I booked a midsize and got an upgrade to Standard Since there isn't a Standard aisle at MCO you get to choose from the FULL size.

How did you get the Insiders rate? The insider rate is higher than my SUNPROMO code I am using for a minivan.

I have 6 people plus a wheelchair, so my minivan rate is $320 for 11/19-11/25, I wish I could get that rate down a bit.

Thanks for the reminder about the Discover ecertificates - I was able to use 3 with Alamo and the insider discount. Finally happy with the price.

While checking around today for better rates, at both National and Alamo I got a message that there were no cars available. I am trying to pick up at MCO and drop off at Cape Canaveral. Anyone else getting this?

and I just got it with Enterprise as well.

I got this message with Alamo for a rental from Cape Canaveral to WDW (Shades of Green). Then, I changed the drop off to the Dolphin and it worked.
